Just like heaven

This week it was this girls birthday.

Samantha Cielo Siddoway

This little lady made me an aunt for the first time. Ever

Cielo means heaven in spanish by the way. Fitting.

Thinking about all the memories I have with her makes me smile, laugh and cry.

Top memories:

taking bubble baths
ditching high school to eat mac n' cheese
"shake"dancing
watching disney movies
feeding her the first bite of sugar as a baby. It was pie, don't tell Britt
running errands with her and pretending she was mine
disneyland, every single time
princess birthday parties
sleepovers

and the most recently...

talking about boys:)

Happy Birthday Sam!

A day at the beach

Last week we drove out to Venice Beach. It was so awesome to curl my toes in the sand and feel the waves around my ankles. Something about going to the beach makes me feel alive and walking hand in hand with Graham was so nice.

We didn't come to Venice Beach to just see the water though... Venice is famous for its outside gym, shopping,  sword throwers,  guys that play instruments while roller skating, you know the usual. There are little shops lined up and down the coast... I love to shop so I was excited. It wasn't long before I realized we were a little out of our league. The shops sold t-shirts, weed, things to smoke weed, cigarettes, thongs (not the shoes), booze, tattoos, did I mention weed? For medicinal purposes of course. Pretty amusing. We did find some interesting art stands, and enjoyed sitting on a bench while watching the eclectic mix of people that work, live and visit Venice Beach.

Passing afternoon

So lately I have been taking pictures. You know, for fun. I have never taken a photography class even though I have always been interested in it. At first I didn't know what to take a picture of. So I would hunt. Hunt for the perfect thing and try and photograph it, perfectly. After a few passing afternoons I realized that the best things to catch, are the simple things. Then I would also soon realize that those simple things and their imperfections are in fact the most beautiful, things.

Happy new year!

Graham and I were able to spend new years eve with some of our good friends! We had so much fun getting together and playing games, dancing, eating pizza and doing sock buns tutorials... I seriously love these girls.

Stealing kisses at midnight.
