Sister Love

Hello to all! I know it has been awhile since we posted a written update, so we wanted to let you all know we are still hanging in there. We have begun to sleep train the babies and so far (fingers crossed), we feel we have seen some improvement. On the good nights, they will both do a 4-6 hour stretch, while on the bad nights, they can be up every couple hours. We are still giving them their Prilosec twice a day and are hoping they will grow out of it soon. Recently, we had their four month well baby visit and both girls are weighing in at 11 pounds. That may not sound like much, but since they are twins, the doctor is happy with their progress. The girls are really beginning to come out of their shells. Laughing and cooing are regular past times for both girls. They love to do it so much, I think they would even laugh and coo at a gorilla if they had the chance....which explains why Renee was giggling so much with Uncle Andy. You will find a new video below that shows how much fun they have just playing by themselves.

Some of you (hopefully most of you) saw the video of Ryan singing at bedtime, well now bedtime has continued to get better. Not only do we have singing time, but he is really good at saying his own prayers. They tend to go something like this: "Dear Heavenly Father; thank you for Grandma, thank you for mommy, thank you for daddy, thank you for baby Kaylee, thank you for baby Nay-Nay, thank you for kitty, thank you for David, thank you for Andy, thank you for Megan, thank you for Benny and Russell, thank you for Zale and Sarelle (Ryan's friends), thank you for the clock, thank you for Woody and Buzz.... This is about the time we have to help him say Amen. A stall tactic??? We're not sure, but we love to hear all the things he is thankful for and wants to bless. Ryan also likes to add these into the breakfast, lunch, and dinner prayers. Sometimes our food is cold before he is done, but once again, we don't mind. He will be such a good example to his baby sisters.

Overall, things are going well. Joe will be done with his class in about three weeks and we will then plan to take a trip to Arizona and try to find a place. We have done some looking on the internet and we are excited to get out there to find a home. If all goes to plan, we hope to move by the end of July or beginning of August. The girls are just starting to find their feet. Can they really taste that good?

This was a video of the girls Joe shot today. The sound isn't great for the girls since it was taken with a digital camera, but if your sound is loud enough( not too loud or Joe's voice will blow you away) you can hear Renee cooing the whole time. They love each other so much! Hope you like it.

The Laugh Factory

Despite resistance from Joe, this video had to be posted. Uncle Andy, A.K.A. "Spamdrew", is telling lies (or so Joe says) about daddy, and Renee is having a blast. Joe thinks she is laughing because these tales could never be true. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We hope every one's Easter was joyful as you celebrated the resurrection of our Lord. These past few weeks have just flown by and we can't believe it. Joe had spring break last week and enjoyed his time off catching up on some Xbox time, playing with Ryan and the girls, and just about anything but studying. Things are turning around in his class with the crumby teacher so all of your prayers must be pouring in. He only has about 5 weeks left so hopefully he can continue to excel.

Karen went back to work this last Friday and that left Joe alone to manage the girls by himself at night. The girls did well and thanks to Karen's mom, Joe was able to get a few more hours of sleep in the morning. Karen on the other hand went to work kicking and screaming. I think she would stay home forever with her girls if she could. Karen just has to be Joe's "sugar momma" for a few more years, then she will get all the stay home time she can handle. With Karen and work and Joe alone with the kids, Joe is realizing how much he really CAN'T live without Karen. Mom's everywhere deserve a standing ovation, pat on the back, extra weeks vacation...you get the point. Karen felt like work went well and although it is hard for her, she unselfishly continues on like a real trooper.

Ryan is progressing well as he is starting to hit his "terrible twos" a little bit late. He has been ornery here and there, and the only thing he likes to share are his germs. He kisses the girls so much, it seems they have a new cold each week. We recently posted a new video of Ryan on his section of the blog and you can view it if you click here.
