New Obsession!

Last weekend while shopping at the Christmas store in Red River, I found a picture frame that I adored, absolutely loved.  It’s been a long time since I’ve “flipped out” over something that didn’t involve something directly for my son.  I love this stuff so much, I can’t decide what I want to buy next.  I’m seriously contemplating applying for a LLC just so I can buy it wholesale!!  What is it you ask??  Well…  this is what I bought, and ironically, it does have something to do with my son after all:

I think I even guilted my mom into buying this, although I was really fishing to see if she liked it enough for me to give it to her as a gift!

But before I found the painted canvas frame with clips to hold the 3 4x6 pictures, I found these ornaments that I originally set out to get to remember our trip by, which happen to be by the same company as well!

1st Haircut!!!

The time has finally come for Jackson’s 1st Haircut and it wasn’t as traumatic as I thought it would be.  Our friend Celia came over for the afternoon to give us all new do’s, but it took some creative bribing to get Jackson to cooperate.  After drinking all of Emily’s Dr. Pepper and a few packages of smarty's, Celia got it all straightened out.  Don’t worry, he still has those “lady killer” curls and enough to spike it on top. 

Little League All Star District Championship

Of course Trenton made the all star team --  I mean, he is the best little player out there, right?  Well, to Aunt Chelle and Mema at least and we all know that whatever the two of us thinks, is the right thing, right?  Well.  Whatever.  Anyways, moving on!  The Childress team played in the district tournament this week starting on Friday night.  They also played Saturday morning and Sunday night, but we couldn’t go to those because of being in Red River.  I had to teach Tuesday night, so tonight was the only night I could watch the action for myself.  What a stressful 3 hours and 6 innings, I tell ya!   Trenton played catcher the entire game, got a few good hits, and made a run.  We lost 8-5, but they are champs to me!

Red River Day 4

It’s going home day today which is always bittersweet.  We had to get some token group pictures of all the cousins and family and this is pretty much the best I could get!

And… it just goes downhill from there.  Anyways, here a few others!

Before leaving Red River, no trip is complete without a trip to the Christmas Store!  I got a couple of ornaments, a picture frame, and a present for the new preacher.  Jackson found a set of balls he couldn’t live without and Kaleb couldn’t resist the mirror ball light up microphone!

We also took a trip down memory lane and took a side trip through Angel Fire before heading home.  We drove by Grandma Zelma’s cabin and reminisced about good times there and how we wish that cabin was still in the family.

And no drive home isn’t complete without a bag of cheeto’s and diet coke!

Thanks, Mema, for taking us to the 2012 Howard Family Reunion!  As Kaleb so eloquently put it as Red River was still in the rear view mirror, “Can we do this trip again?!”
