True Colors

You with the sad eyes don't be discouraged

Oh I realize it's hard to take courage
In a world full of people you can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you can make you feel so small

But I see your true colors shining through
I see your true colors and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful, like a rainbow

Show me a smile then, dont be unhappy
can't remember when I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy and you've taken all you can bear
You call me up because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors shining through
I see your true colors and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful, like a rainbow

 So sad eyes
Discouraged now
Realize,

When this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up Because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors Shining through
I see your true colors And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors, true colors
Cos there's a shining through

I see your true colors And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors, true colors

True colors are beautiful,

Beautiful, like a rainbow

Perspective Property

"Wow", is all I have to say. I have been looking at some property for my rehab center and originally wanted to build, but I ran across this....It is everything I could ever want, and everything I want already exists here. I am still working on funding, and most likely will not be able to afford this place, or if I did secure this type of funding, would never get it before this was snatched up by some wealthy business man.

It was originally a resort type facility with the capabilities to house a lot of people. It has in place many of the things I want available to my perspective clients and patients. It is on a lake, with hiking and nature trails, large barn, automotive shop, large garden with a green house, a gym, sports areas...such as basketball, volleyball, and golf, a pool, and a separate facility to house family when the time comes in a persons program and therapy to do family couseling and therapy. It is everything I could possibly dream of. Just wanted to share.

If there is anything anyone could do for me would be to pray for me and my family. That they Lord will see fit to bless me, so that I in return can bless the lives and help encourage change in His children.

"We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel"
Some just need to be shown the right direction to go, and others just need one to unconditionally love and support them on their journey! I pray that I may be the Lords instrument.

PLANS

If there is one thing I have learned from life, it is that you can always take a difficult challenge or trial and turn it into something good. Because of some of my experiences I have decided to take a huge leap of faith, and venture out into an unknown territory, and I have BIG BIG plans.

Throughout my married life I have watched several people that I love struggle with serious addictions of all kinds. Each may have had a different form of addiction, but all where affected in the same manner and so were their loved ones. There have been many times where I was unsympathetic and unwilling to try and understand what it was that the "addict" was going through and what caused them to take or choose this path.

Through this journey, through much research, and much prayer, I believe that I am being directed down a particular path....

I am going to create and open my own addiction treatment center!

I know, it sounds like an insurmountable task, but I know that this is the direction that I need and want to take and I can see the Lords hand in it already. I would never have thought that this is something that I would be able to accomplish, but things have been just falling into place, and rapidly. I have received the states regulations and laws (from several states) for opening this type of facility, I have private investors willing to help me with funds, and have a grant writer writing a proposal for various aspects of this business for more funding. I have been looking at land and property to build on, and even know the plans for the facility that I want. I have even researched and found the type of programs that I want to implement as treatment.

Music has always been my thing...the one thing that I have been most passionate about until this. I can't quite explain it, but this is what I feel like I am meant to do. Besides a mother and a wife, this is what I am here to do.I know it and I feel it. I have always had a great love for my fellow man, and have always been able to see the good in people, give them the benefit of the doubt, and have desired to help and uplift others and help them see the things in themselves that are worth saving.

D&C 18:10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.

All men are worth saving and I want to be part of that

D&C 18:15 And if it so be that ye should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me,how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father

Here are the Basic plans of the facility I want. I want it bigger, with more rooms and extra rooms for activity centers, group therapy rooms, a gym or weight room, and much much more....

SCHOOL

For my few and very loyal readers, I thought I would announce that I finally did it.
I registered my kids for school!!!
Can you believe it? Neither can I really. I have always felt like homeschooling was the right thing to do, but never a permanent thing. I initially thought that I would have a hard time with it, but I am actually feeling quite liberated. I feel a little bad that I am not feeling bad. Sick and twisted I know, but it is how I work.
The kids are excited too. They can't wait to go school shopping and get back packs. They used to cry when I mentioned school, but for some reason a switch has been flipped in their little heads, and they all really want to go.
So, to all of you..........Be proud! Very proud.

Arrow Of Light

This is one of those "Proud" moments that every parent has at one point or another in their life. Since Jacob started Cubscouts at the age of 8, he boldly proclaimed that he would have his Arrow of Light (highest cub rank you can earn) by the time he turned 11. Jacob has worked so very hard at this accomplishment, and he was awarded his certificate of accomplishment on his 11th birthday. What a fantastic and special day for all of us. We love you and are so proud of you Jacob!!!

Jacob pinning me with the arrow of light mothers pin.

Arrow of light ceremony. For every achievement he accomplished he gets to "turn" a light on. It represents 7 things he had to do to achieve his award, and the Boy Scout Motto, "Do a good turn daily" which there is 7 days in a week. Neat huh?

MY LOVE

Besides my children, Music is my greatest love. It moves me, speaks for me, and can rescue me from the darkest of places. I recently got my piano. The one I grew up playing and I have been brought to a remembrance of not only how much I have missed it, but how much I need it; Almost as much as I need air. I need to sing, I have a drive to sing.It is a part of me that has been stifled for too long.I am more "ME" behind the piano or behind a microphone...can't quite describe it actually, just feel like that is where I belong, where I can be myself, let down my guard and share how I feel without worry about what others think. It is where I feel alive. I gave up a wonderful opportunity many years ago and in many ways regret it. I feel the spark and drive to share this with others again and pray that doors of opportunity will be opened for me and that I may have the opportunity to share with others one of my greatest loves and passions

CHANGE

I have the unique and special experience of watching someone I love dramatically alter their life from a very destructive path and strive to live a more righteous life. My hear is full of love and compassion for this person; I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had to bare him my testimony of our Lord and His redeeming power, that all hope is not lost, that the Lord always loves the sinner, just not the sin. I had been praying for a greater understanding of the Lords Atonement, but was not expecting to gain that knowledge or experience it through the journey of another. I am overcome with emotion,... not sure how to quite express myself. I am so grateful for this experience and for the example and for the courage to change that this individual has shown. I hope that he always knows the love that I have for him, and how much greater love the Lord has for him.

Why Mormons Build Temples

I felt that this beautifully explained most of my sentiments regarding the Temple. It is a place of beauty, peace, and a place that I make sacred covenants with God. I have never been in a place where I have felt closer to God. For those who are my dear friends but are not members of this church, know that, that which goes on in the temple is not secret... just very sacred.

Socks, socks, socks

Knitting and crocheting are one of my passions. I have decided to sell some of my work and have had a lot of fun with some projects for my sisters local community high school. My specialty is socks. I love funky, fun socks! I am going to post some of my work on my new blog sarahssocksandstuff.blogspot.com ( the link is over on the right ) Come check it out. I can't wait to visit my sister in missouri. There is a shop close to her that raises their own sheep, spins the wool, and hand dyes it. Can't wait to go check them out and get some really funky yarn!!!

25 Random things

So there is this thing people do on facebook where they write 25 random things about themselves then tag other people with their note. If you are tagged you are supposed to respond. I however waited until I was tagged 7 times. I figured since I was taking the time to think of 25 things people really didn't need to know about me, I would put it on here as well. So.... here goes,

1. I have my own gun. Never been afraid of them, went shooting with my dad as a child, married a man who hunts and loves guns, and have absolutely no problems with using it. I like packin heat!

2. I love to knit, crochet, and sew.

3. When I grow up, I would love to be a midwife

4. I miss my parents. Both of them have passed on. My mother when I was 11, and my father when I was 29. Even though I know that I will be with them again, it is still difficult to be without them sometimes. Love your parents! It irritates me to hear adults whine about their parents. At least they are still here. You never realize how much you love someone until they are gone.

5. I love the outdoors. Especially in the mountains of the Great Northwest! It doesn't get much prettier than the Cascades.

6. I have a very useless and unique talent. I can take a toothpick, put it in my mouth vertically, and flip it inside my mouth. Ask me and I will be happy to show you!

7. I finished my high school education at 16. When we moved to Utah, I had exceeded the required credits needed to graduate. So, we filed for an early graduation, but convinced the choir teacher to let me stay an extra year just to participate in the choir program. He broke some rules, but let me stay ( he loved me!). I wasn't registered, or on any of the schools rolls. It was fun

8. I can pick things up with my toes

9. I have never broken a bone in my body, although I did crack my tailbone and have dislocated both of my knees

10. I am afraid of Tornado's. Every time we have a major storm, I stay up to watch the weather chanel just incase we have a tornado warning in effect.

11. I love to get up early and watch the sunrise.

12. I am generally a nice person, but sad and embarrased to say that I have a very sharp tounge. Especially if I know you well, I can cut pretty deep.

13. When it has been a really long day, I make my kids eat cereal for dinner. Come on, you know that you have all done it!

14. I now live in the house that my mother grew up in! And I love it.

15. I am done having children, but would like to adopt in the future

16. After 12 years and 6 kids I can still do a backflip on the trampoline. Although, I was scared to death to try and almost wet my pants!

17. I love homeopathics and natural healing, and have studied it for the last 5 years

18. I like to look nice, but if I had my choice I would live in a pair of jeans and my hoodie

19. I have always been, and will always be a gigantic bag of tears. I am an emtional being, easily touched but not so easily offended. I have come to terms with it and it is just who I am.

20. I love to garden!Nothing like having your hands in the dirt. My specialty is pumpkins! I know how to polinate them in a manner that will produce the biggest and the best. And if you garden, I can't help compare mine to yours and revel in the fact that mine is better than yours! ;)

21. I love the company of others! Just hanging out is great for me. I feel loved when others desire to be in my company.

22. I hate shoes, and I hate socks. I prefer bare feet, but am often conflicted because I like CUTE shoes. I will wear sock if I am cold. Especially the cute socks that I make!

23. It is very hard for me to just sit and do nothing. There is too much to do and I get fidgitey. I can't even sit and watch a movie unless I am working on something at the same time ( usually it is either laundry or kniting).

24. I like to tackle people ( I can't help it, I used to play football with the guys when I was younger). To some I seem so nice and sweet, but have all this pent up aggression. Trust me, I really can take you down!

25. Since I have moved to Texas, I am becoming a woosie! I used to really enjoy the cold weather. Prefered it actually. I am now finding my self less, and less tollerable to the cold. I swore that it would never happen, but what can I say. I have aclimated. Now, only if I could enjoy the heat a little more!

Powers

Jacob and Hannah often play this game where they have their own unique super powers. They are pretty much the same kinds of stuff that you would find in X-Men; Laser beams shooting from your eyes, invisibility, and the newest one is tornado power
( we live in Texas, what can I say?).
While playing their game yesterday, Jacob was getting frustrated with Hannah, because she wouldn't use her powers. He said to her, " You don't have powers today Hannah". She looked at him in a very smug, I am better than you expression and replied, " Oh, I have powers. I just can't show them in front of men! If I did, I would have to kill you!"
I laughed my pants off!

We are really pleased with his choice of friends. They are all really good boys. Next thing I know, he will be getting his eagle scout!

BUNNIES

I found this bunny on my table ( look at pictures from the bottom up), and I am still not sure how she got up there with all the chairs up. She wasn't so happy about having to get down, but she got over it like a good little bunny!
