Easter 2015

We tried a new technique to dye eggs this year.  

Uncooked rice and food coloring.  We loved it!  

 I loved the way the turned out.  I wish I had boiled more eggs so we could experiment more!

Easter Morning.  Alexis asked for a bunny in her basket....she didn't specify real or fake so I went with a fake one!

 Then the egg hunt began.

I love that Alexis still hunts for eggs.

It's been a nice relaxing Easter watching Conference!

Spring Break...Spring Training

 We went to Arizona for a few days to see Steve's side of the family.

We stayed with Franc and Alison

Eli & Christian

Steve's parents got us all tickets to the Diamondbacks game.

We rode the Metro to the game which was pretty fun!

At Chase Field

 Two of Steve's nephew's came with their wives and kids...

We had lots of treats and lots of fun!

 It would be awesome if Nevada had a pro team!  

We would definitely get tickets all the time!  So much fun!

Backyard Makeover

We bought this house in July and really focused on the inside of the house.  Now that that is just about done we have focused our attention on the outside.  The backyard is HUGE which is great (once it is done) but everything cost $$$$.

Here are some before pictures:

There was a HUGE volleyball sand court and then dead grass around it.  We had over 50 railroad ties that bordered the court and grass.

The first step was to clear it ALL out!  Steve and a friend rented a bobcat (?) and cleared it all out.

We then had a sidewalk framed and poured.

All poured and ready for grass...

I love having artificial grass.  Instant grass and no watering, mowing or itching!

So the grass is done.  We still need to plant fruit trees and bushes, put down some rock, build a garden, concrete the side yard and maybe down the line get a pool.

Opening Day

 Eli is on the Braves this year for AA ball.  I was so excited because I like the team and love the uniforms/colors.  And then they got their uniforms....

Gray with neon yellow and neon pink????  But the hats are the normal red, white and blue...makes no sense...I hate them to say the least!  But moving on....

Opening Day is fun for the kids...after being announced and kicking off the season....

There were a bunch of activities to do...the Delorean from Back to the Future was there...

 Shaved Ice...

 Eli plays for the Mountain Ridge Little League (the team that "won" the Little League World Series) so the team signed balls for the kids.

 Cosmo from the 51's team was there.

They also had SWAT and Police cars there and jump houses.  It was a fun day to kick off the season.

Catch up

 Its been awhile since I blogged and considered quitting but its my way of journaling and keeping track of the things we do so when I make my scrapbooks online I have an idea of the things I need to include.  So here is a little wrap up of this year so far.  (very condensed)

Alexis got her permit...she is a really good driver but the whole thing makes me a bit nervous!

 Pinewood Derby for Eli...He didn't win..but its always fun and you can definitely tell which cars the boys have made and which cars the dads did for them.

 The kids Valentines:  Alexis made Chex Crack (sooooo good), Eli did a Mine-craft one and we did my favorite Valentine for Oliver. 

 The kids had a 4 day weekend over Valentines Day so we went to Arizona and hung out with my mom and my sisters family.

This awesome new place opened...it is so much fun!

  Eli's school had a 5K fundraiser...these 4 boys are adorable and all good friends.

 Eli had his Blue and Gold for scouts.  The theme was "You're one in a Minion," so each kid made a cake.  With Eli at school and then busy with activities after school, I made the cake.

 And then I called in my friend Tammy to help me decorate it!

 Steve had his gallbladder removed.  He still isn't feeling 100% and has the same pain as before but hopefully within time he will feel better.

 St. Patrick's Day lunch for the kids...

Nothing too exciting but its a start in catching up!
