Our First Christmas

Our first Christmas came only a month after we had been married, so we couldn't afford much, but it was so much fun to be together on Christmas and have our own little Christmas together! It just so happened that our "on" and "off" family Christmas's happened to fall just right, my family's "off" year was Aaron's family's "on" year, so we didn't have any fights about where we should go, it was great! we went to Aaron's family for Christmas Eve, it was fun but I have to say I was home sick for my own family! Like I said we didn't have a lot of money for Christmas presents so we had to get creative! I was looking for something cheap but something that Aaron would love! What could that be??? It didn't take me long to think up MT DEW!!! So I ended up building Aaron a Christmas tree out of MT Dew, he loved it! This Christmas (2007) he mentioned how much he loved that present he said that even still it was his favorite present ever! What joy simple things can bring!

Our First Apartment

This is our first apartment, it was pretty small, actually the pictures make it look bigger then it was I think! It was in Holladay on Highland Dr and about 5100 South in a basement. I think it was the perfect place to start out in, we had a lot of fun there but grew out of it pretty fast, we were there for 9 months then moved into Aaron's parents basement apartment, I don't have any pictures of that one but we had a lot of fun there too! It was a lot bigger and not much more then what we were paying for the other place!

Florida

We went to church at Hunters Creek a ward Aaron served in for the last 8 months of his mission! It was fun I got to meet a lot of members Aaron served and served with! They were really excited to see Aaron there! We went to Brother Stanley's class, he was so excited to see Aaron walk in, we were late, because we were talking to so many people that wanted to catch up with Aaron so we walked in and Brother Stanley was like come in sit down, then he took a double take and was like do you know who this is? Do you know who this is? Elder Delahunty! He ran over and gave Aaron a big hug, it was pretty cool, he is a really neat guy his lesson was amazing! It really was I don't ever remember being in a class with such a powerful lesson! His wife was really sweat to! She said Aaron looked just the same, same clothes and everything! (he didn't want to pack his new suit so he took his mission suit and she noticed!) we have a picture there with them!

We also went to the temple and walked around the temple grounds, it was really pretty, we saw President Herzog there (also served with Aaron) he was giving temple tours Aaron said that every single person on his mission that went on one of his temple tours got baptized!

We stopped at Aaron's old apartment he stayed in 8 months of his mission, we met the missionaries that lived there, they invited Aaron in to see the place, but I had to stay outside NO GIRLS ALLOWED!!! But Aaron hurried back to me and we all talked outside, it was really fun to see where Aaron served we went to his favorite Colombian Bakery (very very good!) and he pointed out other spots he would go to and tell stories, I love listening to his missionary stories, even now I still love it! I would love to go back with Aaron again! We haven't really been on a trip like that since our honeymoon, it was so much fun though we would love to do something like that again, just the two of us!

Magical Kingdom

The Magical Kingdom all the Disney Classics! As you can see in the picture Splash Mountain was closed! We couldn't believe it! We were so bummed, we have frowny faces in the picture if you can see. OK every where we went there we couples with the bride and groom Mickey Mouse ears on, we thought that was so lame! We laughed at every one we saw, so we just had to get a picture of us with them on! We were so embarrassed, Aaron didn't even want to put it on for 2 seconds, so we asked some one to take the picture, hurried and put them on, posed and took them off as fast as we could! It was pretty funny!

Islands of Adventure

Islands of adventure was tons of fun it had all the big roller coasters and stuff and that is our kind of thing! Our favorite was the "Unicorn Ride!" It was almost just like puff the magic dragon at lagoon! OK really our favorites were the Double Dragon and the Hulk!!! We also went on one that we got soaked, almost completely, ya my pants were pretty much see through, but we dried quick!

MGM Studios

MGM was sooo cool! We rocked out on the Rockin Roller Coaster, and screamed our lungs out at the Tower of Terror, I just love rides like that, so does Aaron, he was so excited to take me on them, he new I was in for a treat! We rode those ones over and over, I could never get sick of them! We saw Indiana Jones and watched car chases! We saw things blow up and stuff, it was cool! Aaron especially loved the Lights, Camera, Action Extreme Stage that was the one with all the car chases and cool car stunts!

Epcot

I have been to Florida and Disney World before, but never to Epcot or MGM, and never with the love of my life! So Epcot and MGM were new for me, it was a lot of fun! Aaron has been there plenty of times before and showed me all the cool stuff! Cory and Jamie (friends Aaron met on his mission) were still living in Florida and had passes to Disney World, so we decided we would meet them in Epcot! I had never met Cory and Jamie before but had heard lots about them, so it was nice to finally met them! We went on a couple of rides together and had dinner at Mexico! It was yummy!

Florida-Hotel

We went to Florida for our Honeymoon, it was so much fun, it was nice to relax and just be together! We stayed at the Marriott Hotel, my parents have a time share there and let us use it, Thanks Mom and Dad!!! It was amazing, I don't think will will ever be able to stay in such a nice place again, it had its own kitchen too, then we didn't have to go out to eat all the time! And a washer and dryer!

There was an awesome view from the balcony and they had like five swimming pools, I'm sorry to say we never made it to any of them, but we had a lot of fun visiting all the other places!

Our Wedding Day

We were married on November 11, 2005. It was one of the happiest days of my life, I wish I could go back and do it all over again. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple at about 9:00 in the morning, before we were married we got to sit together in the Celestial room, it was so beautiful, you could really feel the spirit there, it was so amazing to sit in there with the man I was about to marry! After we were married we had our pictures taken on the temple grounds, what could be more beautiful! Me and Aaron were so lost together not really knowing what was going on around us, but all that mattered to us was me and him, we were finally together starting our lives together as an eternal family!

After all the pictures were taken we had our wedding breakfast at the Joseph Smith Memorial building, and that's where we began the party! We had a very nice meal with yummy desert and my new in-laws got the chance to show there true colors! They had made a slide show for us with love music and all our pictures dating, it was very sweet! Then the put on the big act! My brother in-laws came out in Hawaiian grass skirts and sang and danced to my little butter cup! It was so funny and so much fun! Then the officially welcomed Aaron into the "Burning Ring of Fire!" It was a lot of fun, after all that half of my family wanted to join the Delahunty family too!

After all that fun we headed home to get ready for the reception, I had to start my hair all over, it ended up becoming a mess! we went over and set up pictures and quilts and things, then we were right back to the picture taking, which I don't mind at all, I think me and Aaron both grew up with a camera in our face all our lives, but how else would you remember all the great memories!!! Before we left we had a couple of songs we danced to, we did the country swing of coarse! And a slow dance which I ended up with all the brother in-laws cutting in, including the cardboard cut out of Sam who was on his mission in California!

Then it was time to head out! We left with people holding sparklers all around us, it was cool! We drove around the block, and came back to collect our things and change! Yes we faked them out and didn't really leave, but i wanted all the pictures and video with the sparklers in our tux and wedding gown, but in reality we had to return the tux and didn't want to take my dress on our honeymoon! So we came back changed, grabbed out pizza that had been delivered and our food cooler from the Parks, then we really headed off! We were on our way to the Anniversary Inn, Treasure Island! And the next day we would be off to Florida, Disney World!!!

Engagement Picture's

Engagement

Aaron proposed to me on the 4th and left for China on the 8th, he was working for his brother drilling on Lake Quinghi. He was there for about 2 months while I was home missing him and planning the wedding. We discovered a free way to talk on line through something called skype, so we talked all the time! Aaron came home the end of August so he could start school. We had our engagement pictures planned 3 days after he got home, we wanted to get them in while the weather was still good! Little did I know that when he came home he would be looking like a skeleton, he had lost about 20 pounds from living off vegie's, peanut butter sandwiches and fried sausage (his favorite)!!! So we tried to get him to put the pounds back on before our pictures, and he ended up looking just fine!!! He has now put the 20 pounds back on plus a few extra!!!

Proposal

Aaron proposed to me on the 4th of July at Bear Lake, he woke me up early to go see the sunrise, we walked down to the beach and cuddled on one of the Hobie's, there we watched the sunrise. What I wasn't aware of was the Alan and Linda had snuck down to the beach to get some pictures of us, they had thought Aaron had already asked me, but he hadn't, so the come strolling over to hear the good news! I had no idea what they were up to and thought they had seen us sneak out and had followed us to make sure we behaved ourselves, Aaron got us out of there before they could ruin the surprise and we took a walk down the beach to be alone, and that's when he knelt down and asked for my hand in marriage!!! And of coarse I said YES! It was all very romantic and since my soon to be in-laws were there we got some great picture's thanks guy's!

Dating

Aaron and I met country dancing at Trolley Square, I asked him to dance because I can only follow in dancing so I need to dance with someone who already knows how and I can follow them, so Sharon had seen he could dance and told me to go ask him, we danced a couple songs then went our separate ways later I "accidentally" bumped into him and we started talking and dancing, after that we danced the whole night through! He got my number and oh about a month later when he finally decided to call me he asked if I wanted to go country dancing, so we did! We danced every single song, well almost we took a small break to catch our breath and mingle with the other people we were with and some other guy took that chance to ask me to dance, what could I do, I wasn't on an official date, Aaron only asked me to hang out, so I said yes to that boy after that Aaron didn't let me leave his sight and even started to hold my hand!!! About a week later we had our first kiss and after that we rarely left each others side except to drive home the 30 minutes between Draper and Bountiful!

We dated for about six months before we got engaged, we enjoyed spending LOTS of time together, dancing, staying up late, cuddling, kissing and talking on the phone through all hours of the night!
