The True Adventure

As you look at my other blogs, it may appear that our adventure began with the birth of our first child. But that is not really the true adenture, only part of a much bigger one. The true adventure is my relationship with Jesus Christ. Today I read The first chapter of Hebrews in the New Testament and saw there a superior picture of Jesus. Jesus is the true Son of God who is worthy of all my worship. He is the only one worthy of giving my life completely. I can't put a picture of Him up because He is too glorious to picture. He is too radiant to look at now. But my adventure is building to a day when I will see Him. I will be able to look at Him and praise Him. I pray daily for that event for all who read this and especially my daughter who I completely place in the hands of God for her salvation. That is the true adventure and it only starts when we begin a relationship with the one Jesus Christ.

Mary Beth's First Bath

Wow! What a loud scream my daughter has! But how cute she can be when she calms down! Tonight we gave Mary Beth her first bath in her new bathtub. No matter how perfect the water was, we knew we would make her mad as we put her down into the water. She calmed down every now and then and gave us her cute face. But the screaming came right back. Bathtime is definitely going to be a fun time as she gets older, but it will be an upset time for awhile.

First Outing

This weekend, my parents and my brother and sister came to visit. We had a good time and went on our first outing with Mary Beth. Living in Louisville, we went to Churchhill Downs, the site of the Kentucky Derby. Riding in her stroller, Mary Beth slept through the entire tour but did come home with a cute souvenir. Being the first grandchild for my parents, and the only baby girl to be in our family my Mom cannot resist buying girl clothes for her. Spoiling is appreciated not expected.

Week One of Mary Beth

Yesterday was the end of week one of our new addition. Mary Elizabeth Timmons was added to our family on July 11th at 8:13am. The adventure has not stopped. Our sleep pattern has completely been flipped on it end. But we are still getting sleep. Which is more than we hoped for. She is incredibly cute. I know I'm her father and I have to say that. But for the majority of her day she is beautiful. Every now and then she makes a face that is not very attractive. But I love her all the time. She had a one week check up at the doctor's office where she got an A+.(I think the + was for the nice present she gave the doctor in her diaper.) We look forward to many more weeks of adventure in the years ahead. So keep your eye out.
