Homemade Baby Food

I went to a small enrichment activity tonight and it was all about making homemade baby food. I know I have a little bit of time to wait to try it out, but I am so excited. The sister that taught the class just learned so that she could teach us and it is literally so easy. She gave us a handout with all kinds of instructions for different foods we can puree. There was also a website that can be referenced that has alot of great information as well. www.wholesomebabyfood.com I am more than willing to share all that I learned with anyone that wants to know. Ashley Ann Mortensen

Born: April 21, 1987
Passed Away: August 12, 2008

My cousin Ashley, daughter of Ron (my dad's younger brother) & Melissa, was tragically killed in a freak accident last night. She was loved by so many especially many nieces and nephews that adored her and enjoyed her babysitting them. We are grateful for the knowledge of knowing she in a better place and that will we be able to see her again. Our thoughts and prayers go out to my Aunt Melissa, my Uncle Ron, my Aunt Shirley, her siblings and her fiancee, Richard as well as all that are affected by this tragedy. We love you!

7 months - and enjoying every minute!

Overall I have truly enjoyed being pregnant. There are definitely days that I feel better than others, but for the most part...it is enjoyable. Our baby boy is very active and I look forward to meeting him in a few months. So far with my pregnancy all has been normal. My blood pressure is always low which is normal for me and I measure exactly where I should be. Sometimes I look at my doctor and say "Isn't there anything else you need to tell me?" He just smiles and tells me he'll see me in 4 weeks. Anyway, I look forward to a couple of baby showers I am going to have in September. More updates to come in the future!

Exhausted from a long week....

We took a trip out to Surprise last night to spend some time with Josh and Trish. We were sad to find out that by the time we got there, the kids would already be in bed. Travis was very tempted to sneak upstairs and wake them both up. He loves his niece and nephew. We had a great time learning to play Guitar Hero, relaxing and just talking about anything and everything.

Around 11 pm, Trish and I decided that we needed to go and get some ice cream from McDonald's. We nearly left the drive-thru line when we found out that they didn't have twist cones...only vanilla was working. We had no way out though. The McD's drive-thru by their house has two lanes that you can order from and I think the WHOLE town of Surprise was there. Anyway, we ended up with vanilla cones and we were two very happy women. We love spending time with these two and hope to continue with many more memories in the future.
