Duck Pond

There is a duck pond south of campus that we try to visit regularly when it is warm. Our last visit was the first week of November. It was cold, and I think the ducks had been a little deprived of visits because they were a lot more friendly then we had seen them all summer/fall. Here is a video and some pictures of our friendly ducks.

These ducks were jumping to get the bread out of her hands. They were successful so many times that Lucy just gave up and told me to feed the ducks. If I put Cole too close to the ground they would bite his fingers too!! It was insane. We had been there every week over the summer and they had never come this close or tried so hard to get the bread. 

Because they did that to her, I let her do this :)

Cole kept tabs on purple baby while Lucy chased more ducks around. 

We were such good friends by the end that the ducks followed us all the way to the street

....I think they just wanted our bread...what do you think? 

Lucy got a kick out of the ducks following us. We ran around the boardwalk twice just to see if they would keep coming. They did :)

Vacuum

 Yes, his mouth is on the vacuum....

 this is the first thing he 'crawled' for...

Every time I turn on the vacuum, Cole moves as fast as he can towards it. I don't know why he likes this feeling so much, but he really does think it's fun. Lucy never liked the vacuum and only lets it touch her if Cole is right there too! 

He thinks it's fun when it gets his feet and hands, but he really likes it to suck on his face. 

He is kind of weird but we love him!

Halloween

I know this is late, but better late than never right? Halloween was fun this year. We all dressed up -- which doesn't normally happen. I hate deciding on what everyone should be...but once we figured it out I had a BLAST making the costumes. Lucy was Rapunzel, from Tangled. She LOVES this movie....she can sing most of the songs from it, that is how much she likes it. A few weeks ago Patrick was in town, and made a comment about how Cole looks like Donkey Kong when he smiles.....so that is who Cole became. Devin was a Cowboy. And myself....well....you can decide :)

I got the idea for Lucy's hair from this tutorial I found. It was fun, and I thought she would like it but I was wrong. She wouldn't try it on so I couldn't really finish it. And then she would only wear it for pictures. So maybe for next year we can try it again? I don't know. We'll see.  For Cole's costume I pretty much winged it. I got some plush felt, and traced some of his sweat pants and a hoodie that fit him a little loose. They were fun to make and I'm happy with how they turned out.

On Halloween we ended up carving pumpkins! It was a lot of fun. Lucy has never been a fan of touching gross looking or feeling things. So she stuck with the spoon for scooping, and had a lot of fun taking the top on and off. She also helped with some of the tracing on the pumpkin.

 Little man on the other hand LOVED the pumpkin guts. We had a big bowl out filled with them and he went to town. No hesitation, just dug right in. He did eat some, but we were careful to not let him get big chunks. Here is a video! (amazing right?? I have one on here?)

Trick or treating was fun. We went to a potluck in our neighborhood. Then headed around a couple of cul-de-sac that had fun lights and decorations. Lucy wouldn't really say anything when we knocked on the doors but was all for the candy she got everytime. She did get a little scared by some of the decorations. Cole LOVED all the lights, and I think being outside when it was dark was a lot of fun for him too! After about 5 houses Lucy asked to go home. She thought she had hit the jackpot with the amount of candy she got. And thoroughly enjoyed eating it. Devin said he is happy if she keeps thinking that a couple of houses worth of candy is a lot :) 

Happenings

Sorry it has been so long since I've posted! I got lazy and then got behind which = too intimidated to tackle all that...

SO now I'm using one post to almost catch up! :)

I have been told on several occasions that my kids are a lot like me....

 Sometimes I have brownie cravings...(okay I have them alot!)

 But this time it wasn't me who suggested it! Lucy asked to make brownies one day :) So I let her do almost every step of making them! It was fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Cole got a hair cut..

 Cole's hair has gone through some major transformations since he was born...

remember this head of hair?

 It curled when it was wet...

 Started turning a little red....

 turned a LOT a red...

 started thinning out...

 thinner....

Aaaannnnd all gone! (okay, mostly)

do you see those random hairs hanging down to his eyes???

 those are newborn hairs...there were only say about 15 left....haha, 

but they were weird, and long, and kind of groady looking...

So they got snipped!! :)  

We like to save boxes and use them as blocks!

 sometimes a stool is required.

And we've been really happy!

Once upon a time,

 this little girl was potty trained....I thought....

well no longer is that the case (did that sound like Yoda?) 

We are full-fledged diaper wearers again...

don't ask what happened -- I honestly don't know :l

We're revisiting this area of our lives after thanksgiving when our holiday travels have ended...

All Growed Up!

 Lucy's been asking me for ponytails lately!

 I feel like they make her look like a little girl...can't decide how I feel about that....

Mirrors

Cole likes mirrors....one day Devin placed him in front of it and he just went nuts!!

He'll bang on it and talk to it, and just has so much fun! 

He kept getting startled when I would tickle him...

haha, it took him a while to figure out that I was the same person and the person in the mirror!

 (Don't mind the dirty mirror)

So I let him play in front of it as much as he like :)

Bed Head
