So Devin starts his internship tomorrow! While I'm ecstatic he has this wonderful opportunity this summer, my life feels completely upside down. We reserved an apartment in Vernal, but it's not available til the 2nd of June. So for the next two weeks Devin will be going up to Vernal during the week and then will be home on the weekends. I'm going to miss him so much! It's funny, I'm really not worried about how the kids and I will do. We'll be fine. I'm sure come dinner time we'll all be wishing he was home, but we can do this. This week it will only be for four days. Next week it will be five. I feel like such a wimp. We've only ever been apart for two days in a row. I know people who have spent weeks apart, and they were okay. I just don't like the idea.
Even though our apartment isn't available til the 2nd we don't know if that is what we really want to do. Prices in Vernal are absolutely ridiculous, so we're still looking for other options as to where/how we'll be living this summer. Because we aren't certain what we will be doing I don't know how to prepare. I'm realizing I like to plan, I like to have a plan, and I like to know what is going on. I'm getting a big lesson in patience and having faith that everything will work out as the Lord has planned. I just wish I knew those plans right now.
So this week we'll just be taking each day as it comes. And hopefully Thursday night will be here before we know it.

Happy Mother's Day
I've learned a lot from these two about motherhood over the last 2 1/2 years.
Being a Mom is one of the most sacred and special gifts a woman can be given in this life.
It is not easy, but it is oh so amazing and fulfilling.
Today I am grateful for my Mother. For loving me and doing the best she could do with the circumstances she was given. For, even now, showing me she can do hard things, and come out on top.
I am grateful for my sister, who took me in and showed me a way to change my life for the better. I am and will be forever grateful.
I am grateful to my Mother-in-law, for giving me such a wonderful husband. And for being the most amazing example of patience I have ever known.
I have been blessed with amazing women in my life.
I am grateful for all of my sisters (sister-in-laws included :D ), I love you all very much. You have been such an inspiration and support to me.
I am grateful for all of the women who have influenced me and blessed me in so many ways. I would not be the woman I am today with out all of your christlike examples.

Devin got an INTERNSHIP!!
My AMAZING husband got an internship for the summer with Energy Dynamics Lab.
If you want to know more about them {here is their website.}
We'll be moving to Vernal, UT.
Hopefully by next weekend...if we can find housing.
Apparently that is the most difficult thing about this whole trip. Because Vernal isn't a very transient city they don't have a lot of rental apartments there. So cross your fingers that we find something!
Or if you have any contacts or information on how to get housing in Vernal, PLEASE let us know.
We're going to make a trip up there in a couple of days to check it out, so hopefully that will be more fruitful than scouring the internet :D
Yay for us! I'm so excited he got the job!
CONGRATULATIONS hun!

Sometimes we just need to play
I am a big believer in fostering opportunities for you children to learn to play by themselves. I also have learned that we are all happier if I keep the house clean. Besides this I think it is important for them to see Mom doing work. So that they learn the balance of work and play. Don't get me wrong I do LOVE to play with my children. We play a lot. This last week we were sick, and one of the days I wasn't up to doing anything so we just played all day. It was really fun! It really did almost feel like a party all day...almost, except for the fact that we were all sick :D
I made bubbles while the kids were sleeping..i've tried this several times and have failed miserably. They never make bubbles, it's just sticky water. But this time it actually worked. We tried it outside but it was too windy so we tried again inside.
Here he is in his yoga pose again! Haha!
Lucy poking each individual one with her fingertips. It was fun to see some of them pop right away and others she could stick her finger almost through the bubble before it gave way.
These bubbles were crazy! They stuck to our carpet for a VERY long time! So we blew lots of them really fast and watched them.
Then they stuck their faces in them
Smashed them with their hands, feet, elbows, etc.
And we ran through them as well! ;) So much fun! We've done this everyday over the last few days.
Jumping on the trampoline is one of our daily activities. The kids love it. Lucy has always been pretty brave and jumped around all by herself. She likes to bounce really high now and asks me to bounce her. She has always been our little thrill seeker :)
Cole has finally worked up the courage to walk around on his own on the tramp. I've always just held him while we jumped because he didn't like to get down on his own.
But now he'll happily run around while we bounce!
I have no idea what they were doing in this picture. But it is really cute.
This little girl gets AIR!
We pretty much always encounter a bug of some sort or another while we are outside. As soon as one is spotted Lucy will yell to me that she found one while Cole drops to the ground to get a closer look. It is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
Lucy never touches them with her hands. She'll poke at them with sticks and leaves and pour dirt on them, but she'll never touch. Cole on the other hand will touch, sit, smash, lick (yes, he tries to lick the ground) and sometimes even eat(he will eat anything!) the bugs. Very gross....we're working on putting a stop to that, but I don't see it changing any time soon!
He's got the Rollie Pollie in his fingers.
ANTS & The Farm
Boo! We got ants....At first there were just a few, then the next day we were INVADED!
I am amazed at how quickly they can come inside. While I hated it, the kids have been having a blast. (yes i said HAVE because in spite of all my efforts they are still here!!!)
Every morning and several times throughout the day the kids will pull up our rugs to check if they can find the ants.
Cole is not afraid of them at all....and will either sit or lay right on the line of them!
Pesky little things! Came right in through our door...
Lucy won't get as close as Cole does. But she will look till she finds them all :D
This has nothing to do with ants. Just a regular pose Cole does all the time! I love it!
We love going to the Thanksgiving Point Farms! And we always go with our good friends {Gina and Aiden}. I finally brought my camera and actually took pictures so I thought I'd share :)
The sheep and the goats are a favorite because they will lick the feed right out of your fingers! And they get pretty close :)
These three were hilarious in the Jail this time. They haven't been in here for a while so this time they ran around and around and around! It was really fun to watch :)
Cole has been riding the horses lately!!! This was his second time. I didn't even hold on! (don't worry I was still right there next to him!
Lucy had been watching this pony while we waited in line and really wanted to ride it.
See told ya I was right there
me trying to get a pic of aiden....the camera was being really weird and went all fuzzy! :(
We found a puddle.
Which meant we had to get in.
We got some comments and looks from other parents about letting our kids play in the puddle....
I say let them be kids!
It's not going to kill them.
Soggy bottoms :)
My soaking wet little man!! Isn't he so cute?!?

The impact of a thought
I just wrote this in my journal and thought I would share...
"This morning I woke up sick...
Cole has been sick for a month...
Lucy has had a fever the last 2-3 days...
Devin has been sick on & off the last couple of weeks
& I finally got it.
I woke up not wanting to do anything. During breakfast I was trying to imagine what it would be like to have someone take the kids so I could do nothing all day and how wonderful that would be.
Then I had the thought, "That is not fair. They are sick too. they don't feel well and probably just want their mommy to hold them and love them. These are my children, my family. I should enjoy being with them--I should WANT to be with them and get comfort in doing so."
After this realization hit me I decided I would be here & with the children today, no matter how sick I felt.
And you know what?
Sick, stuffy, itchy, runny, sore & tired... we still had a great day.
