Memorial Day weekend we got to hang out with the family and Madison and Garrett got to spend a lot of time with their cousins; Caitlyn, Jacob, Ashton, and Aiden.

Early Birthday

We had an early birthday for Madison at my parents house, so that her grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncle, and cousins could share in on the fun. She loved it. She got some great gifts that she had been wanting, A real baseball glove and a teeball stand to hit the balls off of, play make-up, polly pocket. We even let her cut her own cake for everyone. We had some interesting shaped pieces of cake.

MMMM....Cookie Dough!

We made cookies on Friday before we left for Wisconsin. While I was putting the dough on the cookie sheet Garrett pushed the stool over to the counter and reached up and grabbed the mixer. He was so proud of himself. On the down side, almost instantly when he was done which wasn't very long his face got all red and he had little raised hive looking things on his face, neck and head. It lasted about 15-20 minutes and than went away. The only thing we can think of is the eggs he had a similar reaction while eating scrambled eggs for breakfast. He sure love the cookie dough though. On the same note look closely at his nose, he took a nose dive into the ceramic tile floor....OUCH! He had just gotten over a nose bleed from that incident.

Bye! Bye!

Garrett's Pacifier is gone! We have gone 5 days without it. The first few days were a genuine struggle, although the majority of the struggle was during the day. Night time and nap time he would go right down and cry for a few minutes and than sleep through the night (which is an accomplishment for him anyway). It is so nice not to have to remember to bring a pacifier with us or scramble to find one in a desperate moment of crying. The new found freedom!

How hot?

I have had quite a few people email me how hot it is. They can't believe that it is hot enough to go swimming. Well it is we are in the middle 80's with great 98 and 99% humidity. Just like this morning it is only 8am and it is already in the 70's! It is going to be a long summer with a pool that will get lots of uses!

First Pool Day of the Summer!

We finally did it! We got the pool out and enjoyed the sunshine! I thought the pool water would have been alittle too cold but the kids played for 3 hours outside.....two applications of sunscreen, lots of drinks of water, and a few crackers in between. Garrett is fearless! He went right up the make shift slide and went right down into the water. We also got out last years sprinkler....a hit! What a fun afternoon!

This was the cutest! Madison was holding Kaden( cousin) and Garrett wanted to have his sister too! He is really into the giving kisses right now!

Festival on Main

A few days ago we went to a festival on Main Street here in town, there were kids crafts which were free and it was nice to get out of the house. Madison made a bracelet, rain stick, sand art, bubbles, and colored with chalk on the street. They had a lot of food vendors there, you paid 50 cents a ticket and then each vendor had a sample of things they share each item a certain # of tickets. It was a lot of fun and you could taste new things. Madison had a blast although not much in the kid section for Garrett to do, he was getting a little fidgety in the stroller. A nice night out for me and the kids. We drove down Man Street to church and Madison was so thrilled that the sidewalk was still covered in the chalk and paint from Friday night.

One Day it will fit!

Madison and Garrett's cousin Bryce gave them this football costume to dress up in. They love it. A little big for Garrett but he really enjoys putting it on and trying to walk around with the helmet on, maybe he should do it more often to combat the bruises from running into everything. And looking at Madison, Do you think she has seen one to many of her daddy's football pictures! Dave enjoys the interest they have in football, his one comment though the uniform is the WRONG TEAM! Oh well!

Mothers Day

I had a great day that started off really early. Madison came in my room with a tray, 2 bananas, strawberries, and some brownies that i had made the night before for after dinner she took a bit spoonfun out of the middle. She brought it too me at 6:30 and said, "Happy Mothers Day, I brought you breakfast." She did this all by herself Dave didn't help her, and I thought that was so cute. They got me these hanging plants featured above.....for the porch. We had dinner with Daves family a suprise dinner with everyone it was also my mother-n-laws birthday so we had a dinner and cake. A great day although Dave got to sleep in not me....huh?

Teeth Update

Garrett now has 11 teeth and another one breaking through...he has the four front top and bottom and than 3 of the 4 first molars. He is constantly drooling and now when we take the pacifier away he sucks on his thumb.....I would rather him suck on the pacifier but we want that thing gone!

A new favorite

Garrett has a new favorite food, Bananas! He knows where they are on the counter so he goes to the counter stands there and grunts and points and tries to get your attention and when you say, "do you want a banana?" He shakes his head and smiles and gets all happy. He would eat them all day so we have been trying to put them in different places on the counter and even in the cabinet. You can't cut thge banana up it has to be in whole form...he is like that will all of his food.

Washing the Car

The other day Madison kept coming in and getting a bucket full of water and than taking it outside I assumed she was watering the flowers like she does alot. I look out and she is washing the car. She came in again and thinking she was getting water I get up a few minutes later to check and she had gotten all the kitchen towels and was "drying" the car......she draped every towel on that car and insisted we leave them there til it was dry! One thing I love it most of the time when I have my hands full with Garrett and our little extra Kaden she will use her imagination to think of something to do. Her reward is that down time when both boys actually sleep at the same time, she loves it!

Beautiful Flowers

Okay so I forgot to post the beautiful flowers Dave had delivered on our actual anniversary! They smelled wonderful and are so pretty to look at! What a nice surprise for a great day! The next morning Madison told Dave, Daddy you sent mom beautiful flowers that are for me too, right?

Mother ~ Daughter Night

Last week for Enrichment Night at church they had a mother ~ daughter night. Dinner and a fun craft and pictures taken. Madison had a lot of fun. Dave works 2nd shift so I even found someone to watch Garrett so it would just be the two of us (we usually have to take Garrett along). Dinner was a very yummy taco salad you make yourself, look closely at Madison's plate and she ate chips, cheese and tomatoes and a couple of strawberries and they couldn't mix!

Madison also made this cute frame she picked the color combo and we glued and cut the paper down. The picture they took we will get and put inside. Madison says it is for her room above her dresser. A very fun night especially just being able to spend time with Madison!
