Steam Link

Steam Link

Screen cut off and not filling screen
I've had Steam Link for a long time, but now when I connect to my PC and get into the Big Screen mode menu, it's cut off on the sides and too small for my TV screen. Here's a picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/glzjk79j5p92bam/Screenshot%202018-05-03%2017.38.34.png?dl=0

Oddly, if I exit Big Picture mode, everything looks fine on my TV in Desktop mode. If I then hit the X-BOX logo button on my 360 controller to re-enter Big Screen, things look fine again.

Not sure if it's related, but also when I connect to my PC (and image is incorrect), it skips the usual Big Screen Steam animation sequence.

Not sure if this is related, either, but I recently updated Windows 10 to the April update.
I do have a 21:9 monitor, so the resolution is different, but I never had this problem before. Also, it doesn't appear the image is stretched oddly, just covered by black on the sides.

I was running the beta, and tried going back to the public build, but it didn't solve it.
steam -> settings -> streaming tab -> [advanced host optons]
tick the box for change desktop res to match client

and in games set it to 1920x1080
That is already checked. Also, just want to make clear that this is only affecting the Steam menu. Games look fine once loaded.
Still having this problem. Here's another picture of how it displays on my TV: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtzOHwOVJsWAgps5nbt0JPy_SlVVdQ

As you can see, the left side is cut off, and the Steam big-picture interface is not filling the TV screen.

When I actually go to play a game, everything looks fine. It's just the Steam menu. Never used to have this problem.

Hey Adam, I have the same issue. Did you manage to find a fix? I also have a 21:9 screen.
I'm having the same issue with a 21:9 monitor and haven't managed to find a fix.
No, never got a fix, sadly... Hopefully someone at Valve/Steam sees this...
Agreed. Plus one for visibility. Valve, I've been a great customer for years and have three of these damn Steamlinks. Can you make them work well for us 21:9 peoples, please?
I have exaclty the same problem.Only solution is to set desktop resolution to 1920x1080, then everything works fine. But I want to stay with my native 2560x1080 - one solution is Valve to fix this adjust resolution option. Other solution would be having an automatic script which would change desktop resolution whenever entering big picture mogę.
steam -> settings -> streaming -> [advanced host option]
tick the top box, change desktop res to match the client

I do exactly this and still have the mentioned problem. Do you use 21:9 display? And you don't have this issue?

That option does not work in big picture mode. It works fine in games.

Someone from Valve needs to fix this, but I'm not sure if anyone reads this and starts to fix it.
I'm also not sure if the problem lies in the homestream part or the steam link part (I'm guessing homestream)
So, was this ever solved or any good work arounds?
Wondering this too. I hooked up my link to my big living room PC, and when it started I had the option to adjust the screen edges with those arrows in the corners. Now, using a different, smaller TV the left/right screen is cut off. Same resolution on both TV's, same host settings.

All I want is to get back to that display adjustment screen with the corner arrows like when I first used /set up my link. I don't mind redoing this each TV switch, just so long as I can redo it as I want. So far this is the only problem with the link I have, and while minor, it's annoying.

PS: Bigger living room TV is a viseo, smaller private TV is a dynex.
