Hi Slouken,

Not specific to this build, but I have very noticeable audio delay when using Bluetooth headphones with Steam Link Hardware. I made the following post: https://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/discussions/0/571543760192714603/

Is this just normal with this device or can performance be improved with some Remote Play settings for example ? I tried everything that came to mind.

Thank you again :)
Hi slouken,
I see that https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steamlink-sdk has not been updated since last year, and http://media.steampowered.com/steamlink/steamlink-sdk-symbols.tar.xz is similarly outdated. Could we get the updated sources and debug symbols for this build?
Thank you very much for keeping this device alive.
For context, I use moonlight-qt to connect to moonshine from the steam link, and something broke in version 920 (bisected with update_branch.txt) and has been broken since, that makes it so that moonlight-qt segfaults when connecting to the server about 3 out of 4 times. It's annoying because it means I have to keep trying to connect until it works (unless I want to stay on 919 forever). I tried getting a backtrace with remote gdb and moonlight-qt built with debug symbols, but the backtrace stops before getting to application code anyway:

#0 0xb4573274 in memcmp () from /home/jaume/moonlight_debug/steamlink-sdk/rootfs/lib/libc.so.6
#1 0xb47b7968 in std::__cxx11::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >::compare(char const*) const () from /home/jaume/moonlight_debug/steamlink-sdk/rootfs/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6
#2 0xb6f5c974 in CSLAudioStream::GetQueuedAudioSamples() () from /home/jaume/moonlight_debug/steamlink-sdk/rootfs/usr/lib/libSLAudio.so.1

#5 0xb6b53a34 in ?? () from /home/jaume/moonlight_debug/steamlink-sdk/rootfs/usr/lib/libSDL2-2.0.so.0
Backtrace stopped: previous frame identical to this frame (corrupt stack?)
can someone please give me a link or some instructions on how to download the build files for the latest stable build? my steamlink is bricked so i'm trying to do a manual reset/rebuild via USB but i'm having no luck with Gemini.

Original Steam Link Hardware – DualSense CFI-ZCT2W (V6) Bluetooth Reconnect Bug

Hello,

I would like to report what appears to be a Bluetooth compatibility issue between the original Steam Link hardware and the newer PlayStation 5 DualSense controller.

Steam Link

- Device: Original Steam Link hardware
- Firmware: Beta Release 924

Controllers Tested

Controller 1 (Works Correctly)

- Model: CFI-ZCT1W
- Result: Works perfectly over Bluetooth. Pairs, reconnects, wakes the Steam Link, and all inputs function normally every time.

Controller 2 (Problem)

- Model: CFI-ZCT2W
- Internal revision: V6 (serial begins with E6620)
- Firmware: Updated to the latest available version.
- Purchased new from Amazon.

Problem Description

The CFI-ZCT2W controller pairs successfully the first time and works normally.

After turning the controller off and reconnecting:

- The Steam Link wakes up correctly.
- The Steam Link reports the controller as connected.
- The controller LED indicates it is connected.
- However, no buttons, analog sticks, triggers, or touchpad respond.
- The controller is completely unresponsive until it is connected via USB-C.

Troubleshooting Already Performed

- Removed and re-paired the controller.
- Factory reset the controller using the rear reset button.
- Updated the controller firmware.
- Updated the Steam Link to Beta Release 924.
- Tested with only one controller paired.
- Confirmed USB-C connection works immediately.
- Compared with an older CFI-ZCT1W controller, which continues to reconnect perfectly over Bluetooth under identical conditions.

Expected Behavior

The CFI-ZCT2W controller should reconnect over Bluetooth and function normally after waking the Steam Link, just as the older CFI-ZCT1W controller does.

Actual Behavior

Bluetooth reconnect appears successful, but no controller input is received until the controller is connected via USB.

Because the older DualSense works flawlessly on the same Steam Link with the same firmware and settings, this appears to be a compatibility issue specific to newer CFI-ZCT2W/V6 DualSense hardware.

Thank you for taking the time to investigate this issue.

Hello,

I've been having issues on firmware build 924 with connecting the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller, specifically when the controller is connected via the 2.4 GHz dongle.

The controller functions and registers properly when connected via a wired connection to the Steam Link, and the dongle operates correctly when plugged into my PC (Windows 11) and Steam is able to recognize it as a controller when plugged into my PC via the dongle

But when the dongle is plugged into the Steam Link, the controller works for about 3-5 seconds and then shuts itself off. I can turn the controller back up directly but it shuts itself off again almost immediately after another 3-5 seconds

This is not an issue I've been having with the 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller, only the Ultimate 2

Thanks

There was a whole saga about this over in this thread, and unfortunately the end result was that the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth does *not* want to play well with the ancient version of Linux the Link is stuck on.

That's a shame, but thanks either way

At the very least, the connection between the dongle and the controller seems to be strong enough that I can have it plugged into my computer in the other room and use it that way while streaming to the Link with little *enough* latency that it doesn't bother me for turn-based games
Anyone else having issues with the device constantly rebooting once it gets past the network connection screen?
