Steam Link

Steam Link

Why does my Steam Link app display a game that is not in my library on the initial interface?
Has anyone encountered the same problem as me——
In the Steam Link app installed on the Google Play store on the mobile phone, in the lower left corner of the main interface, where the recently shared game screen appears, a game that has never been purchased or played before appears. This game is "ceres", very strange. No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall the app, it will reappear. I also sought the cause of the problem from customer service, but it seems difficult to get a response from the Steamlink developers.:mbgaan:

the link app does not use steam account info, its just an ad or showing how it can work
Indeed, it has nothing to do with the account. Why does the software itself have this situation? If it's just an advertisement, then it's too uncomfortable. But if it's for other reasons, I still can't understand. On other forums, someone replied to me saying, 'They also have this situation because their account has been logged in by someone else.'. But my account should be secure, so is it just a problem with the software itself? Or maybe ...:fuminori:
I just had this happen to me. If it's an advertisement, it should be clearly labeled as such.

The random game being displayed in my Steam Link history is some low-rent AI-generated visual novel with big-breasted characters I'm not exactly enjoying having displayed as part of my playing history.
That's... definitely a new one for me. (But also a fair complaint!)

I *can* tell you that space is never used for ads -- it will only show up to four games you recently streamed, allowing you to start the game directly rather than having to go through the Big Picture interface first. All I can think of is if a non-Steam game got mistakenly interpreted as a Steam game, so mapped to some random appID.

We'll investigate.

So, turns out it *is* possible in some cases for a locally-added non-Steam game to end up erroneously mapping to a real Steam game you don't even own in your recently played game shortcuts. So that'll be changed next version.

The next version won't remove the old shortcut, so you'll probably want to uninstall Steam Link when the next version is available.
