minor updating bug

from previous public build 909, i left a usb stick in the link hardware for testing virtualhere

when it saw an update, the link downloaded it, and stopped at 'please remove usb stick and press (a) to continue'
i unplugged the usb stick, and controllers would not connect to the link using bt

i did not check usb connection, or a usb k/m as they were not handy, so i unplugged and plugged in power to reboot it

then it rebooted with 910
"Low Latency Networking" in Steam Settings > Remote Play is causing sound issues (No sound at all, crackling sounds) and gets "fixxed" by turning it off.

Win10, latest steam beta client, Connection via Wifi 5ghz channel 100
is there a way to roll back from this build? I have lost game sound after this update
I have also lost all sound while streaming
Same here - no audio via steam link
When using steam link hardware to TV. Have audio in steam link main menu but not after connecting to host PC or launching a game. Had been working fine for years until recently.
can you hear audio when streaming to another device?
android/apple phone or pc using link app?

Yes, I have sound when using the steam link app on my ipad.
link menu -> streaming -> advanced
enable the overlay, and set its keybind
begin streaming, hold that button, then turn up volume/mic

sometimes it gets muted there

That was it! Thank you!!!
Please add "refresh" or "search" button in the BT parameters, because there are too hard to add new BT devices to the Steam Link.

exiting and entering the bt menu again will refresh and update if any found device changes

sometimes its a pain if trying to pair a controller from usb while using it
gotta get it done in the right order for the link to find it and accept
TLDR: Is it possible to use a Steam Controller wirelessly via RF (as opposed to Bluetooth) without the dongle?

We've got a lively debate going on here, if you're interested in some back and forth:

...but the core question is as above. Personally I have my dongle and am happy to continue using it, but if the Steam Controller can work without it then I'd certainly be interested in knowing how to get it paired up. I don't want to use Bluetooth; BT does work, but there's a noticeable amount of input lag.

I/we have tried the documentation links below, but to no avail. I've been poking at it with mine, and it works fine with the dongle, or connected directly with a micro-USB cable, but as soon as I pull the cable out, nothing on the screen responds until I plug it back in.

On a side note, if I power the Steam Link up with no USB devices connected, I get the "big blue pairing screen" but nothing I do on the Steam Controller has any effect. If I plug it in with the micro-USB cable it picks that up though, and works fine (again, until I unplug it).

Here's where it gets weird, though. If I connect to a host PC with the Steam Link, then launch Steam on the host and go into its settings, I can wirelessly pair the SC in a way that doesn't seem like it's using Bluetooth (there's no BT-looking setup, and also the input latency of the mouse movement is consistent with the RF connectivity). However, there's no way to save the settings and as soon as I switch panes or close the settings window, the configuration evaporates...it goes back to saying "No controllers detected".

So apparently there is a built-in RF radio that does what the dongle does, but it only works when you're in the "Controller" pane of the Steam client's settings window.

Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction as well.

Personally, I partially blame it on the ridiculous design trend of configuration interfaces with no confirmation buttons (everything just updates instantly as soon as you interact with each individual control), but ultimately it should still work.
