The End of an Era

It’s feeling official that we are really moving. We have been painting the walls back to white this week. It’s no longer our cozy place, but once again sterile and confining. Our furniture looks out of place, and we sort of feel that way too.    

But, in other news, this little one is doing an awesome job controlling her head and she’s discovering there’s a lot more to the world around her. She LOVES to have us hold her out so she can see everything.

She’s also started to whine every time we put her down. We were hoping that wouldn’t start for a few more months. We’re learning that this girl’s got some spunk in her. The other night she was so tired but she screamed for almost an hour until she fell asleep. She’s only done that once, let’s hope it was just a fluke :)

And, Matt gave me this beautiful rose for Mother’s Day. He was so nice and took Lily for a walk so I could take a nap. It was wonderful.

Matt blessed Lily yesterday. He did a wonderful job and gave her such a sweet blessing. She was encircled by wonderful men that we have gotten to know during our time here in Richmond and I’m grateful that they were a part of Lily’s special day. I’m so grateful to have the power of the priesthood in our home. I know that Lily won’t remember the blessing her dad gave her but I hope I never forget the sweet spirit that I felt seeing him carry her in his arms with pride in his face for this precious soul we’ve been given the opportunity to love and have in our family forever. We love you Lily and we’re so grateful you came to us; you were worth the wait! You are a blessing to us and we love the spirit you have brought into our home, making us want to be better, to draw closer to our Heavenly Father.
