Pregnancy Update!

Well I had a doctors appointment before we left on Monday, I was told that I have not gained much weight with this pregnancy and with all the concerns with Duncan, They are now going to be doing an Ultrasound once a week to make sure that he is growing right and I am keeping good fluid levels! So on the plus side we get to see our little guy once a week! When I get around to getting looking appropriate for the day I will post a belly picture!

Lots of Goings on....

Well I have not blogged for a while but I have a good reason, we have been out of town. My littlest sister graduated from high school in St George so we decided to make a little vacation out of it. We left here on Monday afternoon with the intent to surprise everyone and got a great reacion when we showed up at 1 oclock in the morning! Tuesday I got to go out to my moms work at a vacation resort in Hurricane. It is beautiful and we got to enjoy the pool or I should say Duncan got to enjoy the pool!

Wed. My grandma came into town and then we went to pick up my sister Autumn from the Airport who again was unaware that Chris and I got to St George on Monday so We surprised her by showing up with my mom!

Thursday was the big day for Becca, I guess in St George they like to torture relatives and family of the graduate and have graduation at 8 am.... so we got there and had a full day of celebrating and good food.

Friday was fun filled with Taking Pictures of the four of us girls since two of us are pregnant we decided it would be a good time to do so!

Saturday we went shopping shopping shopping! then of sourse we had to go to Cafe Rio for Lunch! That night Chris and I got together with some friends that live in St George who have been our friends since the first couple of months we were there. We sure do miss them and are so excited for them to have a baby! They have been trying for awhile and are now blessed to be 13 weeks Pregnant!

Sunday we woke up early again and Drove up to Salt Lake to got to my Cousins Babies blessing! He sure is a cute little guy and made me hungry to have ours! I was interested to see how Duncan would react to me holding a little baby, so he comes up to me and says, "Mommy, could you put that baby down please?" To which I replied, "No I think I am going to hold him for a little while longer." and he says Ok mom! He didnt really cae, he definatly noticed but not enought to care to much. We also got to go over and see all of CHris' family. We had a great BBQ and visited for a few hours. We got to meet a new baby, and a new Fiance also! What an exciting time!

Monday was pretty relaxing cause we knew we had a long drive ahead of us on Tuesday! We got back Tuesday night With two visitors with us. My two younger sisters are here now. Danielle is going to be here for 3 weeks and Becca will be here until the baby is born! Exciting stuff! I am grateful for all there help with DUncan as I am getting more and more Tired more and more quickly!

We Celebrated Carol working at the hospital for 20 years on Wed at Claim Jumpers! We are so happy for her and this accomplishment! Her friends at work ordered her dessert! This Cake seriously weight like 50 pounds! Good thing they did not start the diet until the next day!

We also have a new ting that may bring good results but grumpyness in our home! Chris and Carol have started the South Beach Diet... If you are not familiar with it,m It makes you go off ALL SUGAR and Carbs for 2 weeks and then Start to reintroduce them for the next couple of weeks till you lose your desired weight. Chris has lost 4 pounds so far! On average you are supposed to lose 8-15 pounds the first 2 weeks alothough it is tough. I am having fun coming up with things to make for them for Lunch and Dinner. I will probably do this when I am dont being pregnant. Now that this post has turned into a Lecture and me rambling I suppose I should end it!

Happy Mothers Day!

Today I Want and Feel the need to express how much I love and appreaciate my mother! She is one amazing woman who has taught me alot. She is willing to do whatever whenever for any of her children or Grandchildren. She has taught me how to be a good spouse and Mother. She lives and breaths for her family. I have lots of stories of times when she has shown so much love for me but I will share one that is really close to my heart. When I was pregnant with Duncan I had alot of problems toward the end. I ended up delivering 4 weeks early and Duncan had stopped growing at least two weeks before that. So The decided to induce me, I was in labor for 6 hours and Duncan was just not tollerating it so we ewnt forward with a C Section. I was terrified for the surgery tostart with then about Duncan they had warned me that he would be in the hospital for a little while to make sure he would be ok. I was so blessed to have a great team working on me and Duncan. I was also very blessed that My mom and Chris were able to be in the operating room with me. The delivered Duncan quickly and I will never forget the feeling of relief when I heard him cry, However I did not get to see him right away. Chris was torn about where to go and who to be with ( I was starting to stuggle at this point) My mom leaned over and told him. "Chris Go take care of your baby, and I will take care of mine." Chris looked at me gave me a kiss and went to take care of Duncan. About 5 min later I felt like i couldnt breathe and got very uncomfortable and the Doctor says Corting I need to know your Blood Type, Luckily enought they got the bleeding to stop and I did not need a transfusion. Duncan had to be in the NICU for 3 1/2 weeks. During that time Chris and I had to take Temple prep classes on Sunday night so we could be Sealed as soon as possible after Duncan was home. It was the hardest thing for me to have to leave Duncans bedside let alone the hospital. My mother knew this and Was there every Sunday to hold him while I couldnt. Now I thought I knew how much my mother loved me, but that first Sunday when she came to hold Duncan I saw and felt how much she really loved me, cause I was experiencing it. I love my Son so much that words could not describe how much I love him, But when my mom came and sat there with him I feel that if she could hold me everyday that I was sick or just having a bad day she would. Even now as an adult. I felt that when she was holding Duncan she was not only holding her Grandchild she was holding me. So Mom Thank you for all you do and say. You are truly my Hero! I love you!

I have to also mention other Women In my life that have taught me how to be a good mom.
Carol my mother in law for whom without her I would not have my husband and son(s)
Autumn my sister for she is one of the greatest mothers I know
Marci Baker, For being my second mom and teaching me something new everytime I talk to you, for being there when mom cant!

Julie Darchuck You are one of the most Fun moms I know
Kacey Locke... For taking after you mom

This is not everyone by any stretch of the imagination, If you are a mother and I know you, You have taught me something and for that Thank you and I love you!

Latest Creation!

Well as the Food specialist for our ward I had to come up with some dessert ideas for enrichment this month... So I saw this and thought hey lets give it a try tonight and see if its good! Well Needless to say if it wasn't good I would not be posting about it! It is a Brownie Pizza with a sort of Cheese cake topping, topped with Strawberries and Bananas, then if that was not enough a drizzle of Chocolate on top! SO SO YUMMY!

Here is the Recipe!

1 Pkg brownie mix (13 x 9 inch pan size)

1/3 cup boiling Water

1/4 cup veg oil

1 egg

Topping:

1 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

1-2 firm bananas sliced

1 square of semisweet chocolate melted

combine brownie mix, water, oil and egg until well blended

spread into a greased and floured 12 in pizza pan. Bake at 350 for 25 min.

In a mixing bowl beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined. Spread over brownie crust. Bake 15 min longer or until topping is set. cool on a wired rack.

Just before serving arrange strawberries and bananas over topping, drizzle with chocolate and refrigerate leftovers.

makes 10-12 servings
