Summer, Summer, Summer.

Okay that was for all of the high school musical fans. I have a love/hate relationship with summer. I want it to slow down. I think it's because we have to face the music and make some big decisions soon and it's better just not talking about it. I am now 32 wks pregnant and I'm a little freaked out about the thought of another child, Colby possibly moving away, us moving, and school.

We have been going, going, going. We went to Lake Powell, came home and worked 2 days, then went camping with all of the Jacobson's last week. It seems we have something big on every week this summer. So we come home, work for a few days, then we are off again. But I will have to post about them all later. And instead of staying home and sleeping, doing laundry, unpacking, or heaven forbid cleaning. I took the kids to the pool today. I think I am trying to over compensate for what is to come. This fall I am taking a lot of credits at school and will have a newborn, so I am trying to pack in everything we can before our life's get turned upside down. Hopefully I will be able to blog about all of our adventures soon.

Hadlee's B-Day Week

My baby girl turned 5 yesterday and she has been celebrating all week long.

This will be my attempt to re-cap our week.

Last Sunday my mom and dad took Hadlee for her B-day sleep-over. Hadlee was so excited and loves having all of the attention on her. When they went to see Grandma Glenda that night, she had made a cake for dessert and told Hadlee it was for her b-day. She loved having them sing to her over and over again. They recorded her singing and dancing and doing her ABC's and nursery rhymes. I am so glad that they use there video recorder, I never get mine out. They took her to breakfast the next morning and then shopping to pick out her presents. She wanted everything in the store, but they finally narrowed it down to a snow white doll, a Leap Frog learning computer and a yellow swim suit.

That afternoon my mom and dad took Lindy and me and all the kids to the park for lunch. This picture makes me laugh, because my dad is constantly playing with them, and juggling attention to all of them. Hanks loved playing baseball with Deegen and Grandpa.

I had to work on Tuesday, but we went up to Colby's softball game that night. Hanks liked watching his dad and kept yelling, "Go Dad."

Wednesday, we went to swimming lessons and the kids hated it. They had a different teacher and she really pushed them. It was good for them, but hard for me to watch.

Afterwards we went and had Ashely curl Hadlee's hair and Torie took her to take some pictures. Hadlee has always hated getting her pics taken, but is getting a little better, as long as it is on her terms. Torie is good with her and knows how to deal with her. She got a lot of really cute ones that I will post later, but here are a few.

While Torie was busy with her, I took the boys for a slurpee's and we somehow ended up and the splash park. I just took their shirts off and let them go to it. Later Hadlee and Torie joined us and we let them play for a while.

Thursday I worked again. Cregg came up to sit with the kids until they woke up. Finally he had to wake the kids, because Hadlee had a field trip at 9. Hadlee was so excited and kept jumping up and down, and saying how excited she was and telling Grandpa thank you. Then, in the car on the way there, she said, "Grandpa, Whats a field trip?" She is all girl and gets excited, even when she doesn't know what stuff is.

Early Friday morning, me and the kids decided to go up AF canyon and spend the day with my family. (They were up there camping.) It was still pretty early, so we were seeing lots of deer. They were camped over by cascade springs so we were slowly looping around the roads with our windows down. We had just stopped to see some deer and Hanks told me, he didn't want to see deer, he wanted to shoot Elk and Bears. He then started telling me he was scared of Bears. I said, "Don't worry, their are no bears around here," then I slammed on the breaks and screamed....... I really scared the poor little bear that was about to cross the road and it stumbled back and rolled a little ways. My screaming scared the kids, and I sat there for a moment. The only thing I could think of, was that Trevor would never believe me and would call me a lier, so I began to stumble for my camera. I went to jump out of the car and got a little scared, it was a little bear and I was wondering where his mom was...... I kept seeing him run through the bushes and finally saw it again on the opposite side hill. It was so cool, I was so excited. That little thing ran fast and was actually really cute how it kind of bounced as it ran along.
My family goes with dogs and tree's bears, but I have never seen one in the wild like that.

Up camping, the kids were able to ride the horses around. We even went on a long hike and the kids took turns hiking and riding the horses.

After lunch we stuck candles in donuts and sang to Hadlee.

She loved all of the attention.

The kids had so much fun and I as amazed at how dirty they got. On the way home we saw this sheep on the side of the road by the cave.

Sometimes it just takes driving in the car by yourself, to make you realize what a beautiful place we live in, and how lucky we are.

That night we took Hadlee out to celebrate her B-day, since Colby had to work yesterday. We went to Outback, since she loves their mac-and-cheese. Then to toys r us, to pick out presents.

Yesterday, the phone just kept ringing with people calling to sing to her. She loved it and would just cock her head and smile, and then say, "Oh Thank you." It was beautiful outside so we went swimming with the Christoffersons. It was only in the 80's so it was perfect for us that are prego.

We all somehow got sunburned, but had so much fun. We came home and Hads got ready to go out and celebrate her b-day with Grandpa and Grandma Jake. They take the kids to do something fun on their b-days and she just kept telling them she just wanted to sleep over. (Even though that is something she has done a lot of lately.) They went to Pirate Island Pizza and then Hads was going with Grandma to church today.

With her gone, Hanks and I went out on a date. We went and visited Grandma Glenda (her b-day was Friday) and then to the hospital to see my Grandpa Ralph. He fell on Friday and broke his hip and had surgery yesterday. We went to just say and hi and to pick my parents up for dinner, and I did not like being there one bit. Even though I work in a hospital, I hated it, I do something completely different and I don't have to see loved ones like that. He was still a little out of it and my mom was having to feed him. I just hope he can recover quickly and get out of there.

We are going to a BBQ tonight with the Jacobson's and the Dain's, so I let Hadlee pick out a cake and we will sing to her again and let her blow out candles. Anything to make her day, Right!!!! I hope she knows how much we love her.
