It's Over

Well, the 2008 Beijing Olympics are over....As most of you know, I'm not really a T.V watcher, but the Olympics are an exception. So from Aug 8,2008-Aug. 24, 2008 I was glued to the T.V. I don't know what I will be doing now with my evenings. I spent my nights camped out on the couch and usually fell asleep there too. Here are a few of my highlights.

2008 USA METALS

36 Gold, 38 Silver, 36 Bronze. Total of 110 metals!!!!!!

MEN'S SWIMMING

Michael Phelps. Need I say more? He won 8 Golds and made 7 world records.

Micheal Phelps, Brendan Hansen, Jason Lezak and Aaron Peirson on the podium for the men's 4 x 100 m medley relay metal swimming final.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

Dara Torres. No Gold metal, but 3 Silvers. At age 41, she is the oldest American swimmer to ever win a metal. So I think she deserves some recognition for that!

WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS

Team USA. Bridget Sloan, Alicia Sacramone, Samantha Peszek, Chellsie Memmel, Nastia Liukin, Shawn Johnson. Took Silver metal.

Nastia Liukin. Won Gold in the all-round competition.

3 Silvers. 1 Bronze.

Shawn Johnson. Won Gold on the balance beam. 3 Silvers.

Alicia Sacramone. 1 Silver with the USA team.

Total rip off! Alicia didn't fall on her landings during the vault. Cheng Fei from China did. Alicia should have gotten the Bronze metal! RIP OFF!!! Poor Alicia.

WOMEN'S BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor. 1 Gold in beach volleyball finals over China. First to win 2 consecutive Olympic Golds.

MEN'S BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers. 1 Gold in beach volleyball finals against Brazil.

MEN'S INDOOR VOLLEYBALL

Coach Hugh McCutcheon lead the team to victory against Brazil even after the tragedy of his father-in-law being killed in a knife attack in Bejiing. This was the first Gold the U.S Men's Volleyball team has won in 20 years.

U.S team lost to Hungary, leaving us with the Silver. Score 14-10.

Tower

We finally got it! The tower is on!

After many hours and let me emphasize MANY hours of hard work, Ty got the tower put onto our boat! Ty worked SO hard in doing this, making sure everything was precise and perfect. (Can you just imagine purposefully drilling holes into an expensive toy.....sickening!) He has many sore muscles and bruises and cuts up and down his arms in result. It was actually harder that both of us expected. Ty couldn't get the side panels inside the boat off completely without tearing apart the whole back of the boat, so he had to squeeze his arms up in between the panel and the boat many times. OUCH! I heard many grunts of pain coming from him and 'gosh darn its' but alot of 'dang, I'm goods' too. I pretty much just held the tower in place to help him, helped figure out measurements, gave him encouragement and sat in a camping chair in the garage to give him company (white trash, I know).

Our reward.....heading to the lake Saturday evening to enjoy the look of nice job done!

We still have the bimini to put on along with the wakeboard rack, but that shouldn't be too hard, we just had enough for the day and wanted to get out onto the water!

Good job Ty, you did an awesome job! I love you! Next time lets just pay someone.

Back to School

Today was Tage's first day of Kindergarten! He was sooooo excited! Dad made sure he was ready last night by laying out his clothes and comforting him before bed. And then again this morning. Dad was bummed that he was missing his first day of school!

Drop off:

I asked Tage a million times if he wanted to ride the bus to school or if he wanted me to take him. He was hesitant at first and asked if the bus knew where he lived, I said yes, so then of course he wanted the bus! Good thing I was at the school waiting for him to get off the bus because it was so chaotic there! He would have for sure been one lost little boy!!!! I don't worry about Tage once he is where he is suppose to be. He is usually pretty good to follow instructions from the teacher and stays with his class. I just worry about the drop off and pick up!

After getting him from the bus drop off, we went over to the Kindergarten area to wait to go into class. His teacher, Ms. Nabasny, was waiting for all her students and I'm sure eager to get all the parents out so she could begin her day.

Then it was off to the Boo-hoo breakfast for all the parents. They gave us each a baggie with a hersheys kiss and a kleenex in it. Ahhh, so cute.

I then took advantage of the first day of school to go get a manicure and pedicure! It was heavenly!

Pick up:

Went fine. Picked him up at the kindergarten play area. He was waiting so patiently against the wall just where he was suppose to be!

After leaving I decided that Tage and I should have a special one-on-one time by going to Baskin Robins for ice cream. We talked all about his day.
His favorite part was: coloring a bear.
Least favorite part: sitting on the carpet.
(I know, crazy answers, but that's what he said!)

Olympics

My face has been glued to the T.V. and will be the next bit while the Olympics are going on. I love watching the Olympics! I hope that Michael Phelps and Dara Torres rock the house! Hope that you are enjoying them as well!

Count Down

Tage is on the count down! OK, me too. The other day, Tage and I made a paper chain to count down the days left until school starts (on Aug. 11th). He is so excited to go to Kindergarten! He is a very smart boy and is going to do awesome this year!
