Friday, June 4th - Monday, June 7th
Ty was going to be working on the condo all weekend putting in new baseboards and getting a few other things ready for the painters to come. So I thought that it would be fun for Tage and I to have a little get away to the beach. We hit the road after lunch on Friday and came home the following Monday. What a great break!
We stayed with my Aunt Valerie on Friday night. It was a late night for us all. Brayden and Tage played, played, played, while Val and I got in some good girl talking.
Saturday we went over to La Jolla Beach (we called it seal beach) and played around on several different spots along the coast.
"Seal Beach" Spots where you can observe the seals. It was fun to see them in their natural habitat.

Seriously so beautiful!

Me, Val, Tage and Brayden

We found lots of crabs, looked at sea creatures, got in water fights, and had fun pulling sea weed and other odd looking things out of the water

Tage loved playing in the ocean!

Saturday afternoon we said goodbye to Val and Brayden and met up with my friend Trina and her family at another beach farther up north near Carlsbad. (Trina moved to San Diego almost a year ago, and I hadn't been out to see her yet, so this was a great trip to do so!) We played some more on the beach then stayed at her house for the night. Tage and I we beat from a long 2 days so we hit the hay by 10:00pm. Exhausted.
Sunday we went to church. It is always comforting to know that no matter where you are in the world, you will find the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is the one and only true church of God.
Sunday was a very relaxing day. Not much happened but relaxing and talking. Perfect!
Tage and I left after breakfast Monday morning. The GPS took us some random way home. We were on the back highways for a few hours until I saw a sign to the freeway when we were passing through a city. I ignored the GPS and took the freeway the rest of the way home. Our car was having trouble overheating so I had to constantly watch the gauge. I would roll down the windows until it went back down. It was horrible the last 30 min from home. It hit the RED! Windows were down and it was 108* outside. UGH!! So hot! I wanted to go back to San Diego were the weather was perfect! We made it home safe, thank goodness, and the car has been sitting in the garage since. We need to fix it. It wouldn't even make it 2 miles the next day without almost immediately going to the red. I feel so blessed to make it home safe! Tage and I said many many prayers on the way home. It practically turned into a game of watching the meter go up and down. Not my type of car game! I would rather play the alphabet game!
Overall, Tage and I had a great little weekend trip! Tyson on the other hand worked his little hiney off at the condo every night until midnight. That man was so tired and sore by the end of the weekend.
