Cheerleaders

Bring on the cheerleaders!
Tage had is second game yesterday, (really last week would have been his second, but it got rained out) and they had cheerleaders! This is something the boys were asking about last game.
Rise and shine at 6:00am on a Saturday to be at the game by 7:00am. No sleeping in for us. I told Tage that he should know that Mom and Dad love him because we wake up so darn early on a Saturday just so we can get him to his game.

When the cheerleaders arrived most of the boys on the team (including Tage) asked why they only got little cheerleaders. Honestly. Do they think that they are already playing pro-ball or something? One little fireball on the team said that he wanted the cheerleaders from the Dallas Cowboys next time. Big wishin' kid, that's not going to happen.

We always have such a great turn out for support. I always look across the field and think that it is so sad that some of the parents and family members are not there to support their kids. We have had parents, grandparents, cousins and friends of friends show up to cheer on our team. It is awesome for these kids to have such a big crowd cheering them on. It pumps them up and makes them feel so loved.

FF

This is what we did for Fun Friday. Turned out really cute. I had Tage make one of course for me and one for Grandparents and his 'other Mom' for Valentines Day.
(No I am not this creative. I am totally a Karolyn wannabe and copied this idea from her.)

Cranky, cranky, cranky

Sometimes Tage puts notes on his door telling us (mostly me, not Dad) to leave him alone. Here is an example. Obviously he is writing them fast and not thinking about his writing because he really does know how to spell these words.

Another one he wrote on his small white board and left in on the ground with the door shut saying, "Nobody can come in except Dad. Everyone is being rude."

1 hour, Seriously?!

Some mornings Tage gets ready super fast, others it takes him forever.
That was this morning, it took him 40 min. to get ready. Which is all of just 3 things...
1. get dressed (including shoes on and hair done)
2. make his bed
3. brush his teeth

Seriously?!

I tried bribing him this morning... "I will make you crepes if you hurry..."
He didn't get crepes.

The challenge this morning was finding a shirt to wear that will match his hat that he could wear to the library after school. And finding socks that I guess he liked.

Seriously?!

Then it took him another 20 min. to do another 3 things....
1. eat breakfast
2. clean his place up from the table and wash up
3. put his lunch, snack and water bottle in his backpack

Seriously?!

That's why I wake him up an hour before he has to leave for school, because some mornings just take that long.

SOLD

We sold our Infiniti this past weekend, so now I will be sporting around in our truck until we find another vehicle.

Believe me, I'm one hot mama in that big beast! wink wink

The long awaited day has finally come. Tage's first tackle football game was today. Tage has been so excited to play tackle football and telling everyone when his first game was.

Castle Hot Springs Road

This past weekend we took a drive up past Lake Pleasant on a road called Castle Hot Springs. We had heard that their was an old resort built in 1896 back up in on a dirt road. Now called something like a ghost place.

This resort of only 30 rooms was very popular back in the day. Even though it took 5 hours on stage coach to reach this resort from Wickenburg, AZ, it was known as one of the worlds top resorts. It is in such a secluded place, nothing around. Had a swimming pool, tennis courts, large grassy areas, fruit trees and large palm trees, and of course hot spring (that's where they obviously got the name. They called them "magic waters"). All in the middle of the desert, in the middle of nowhere. But after a fire destroyed the main building in 1976, the resort was closed.

There has been talk after all these years of re-opening the resort, but nothing has been done about it. There is a care taker living in one of the buildings. No trespassing signs everywhere, but still a fun place to see.
After checking out the resort, we found a great place for Tage (and Ty) to ride the dirt bike.
This is where I sat. Just enjoying watching the boys and eating my Skittles.

Fill in the blank quiz

Each letter can only be used once.
A. Zeus
B. Zeus
C. Zeus

1. _____thinks he is the king.
2. _____ is our baby. (and acts just like one too)
3. _____ is so spoiled.

Since we have been back from UT, Zeus has had problems with his hips and leg joints. He is taking the doggie version of glucosimine and asprin daily. And if he wasn't so spoiled before, he is even more so now.

**Little background**Zeus used to sleep in our room with us before all his joint problems. Now it is best that he doesn't climb stairs so he sleeps down stairs in the living room.

The other night at about 2:30am Ty and I woke up with a big crash downstairs. It was the baby gate that was leaning up against the stairs so Zeus wouldn't come upstairs (Zeus broke it, that's why we just have to lean it up against) Zeus knocked it over and all of a sudden he is in our room.

I thought that he just needed to go to the bathroom so I took him outside. After he comes back in I told him to go back and lay down. I pat him on the head and say good night.

After getting cozy in bed I hear him to start whine. I think that he is such a baby so I figure I will treat him as one.....Let him cry himself to sleep.

That didn't work so I now have 2 options
A: Let him upstairs and sleep in our room (aka, like a baby crawl into bed with us)
B: Go downstairs and sleep on the other couch (aka, go into the child's room and sleep on the floor by their bed)

I chose option B. I got a blanket and layed down on the couch and told Zeus to go lay down. He went straight to his couch and goes to sleep. What a baby! He just wanted to be close to someone.

After about 30-45min of me being on the couch I snuck back upstairs hoping he doesn't hear me and cuddle in with my hubby. (aka, sneaking out of the child's room after they have fallen asleep because you don't want to sleep on the floor all night.)

Now do you believe me that Zeus thinks he is the king, our baby and spoiled?

Experiment

Tonight for part of our FF(Fun Friday) activity we made a thermometer.
How to:
Super easy
Step 1: Get a glass bottle and fill it half with cold water
Step 2: put a few drops of food coloring in the water
Step 3: put a straw half way into to water
Step 4: put play-doh around the opening of the bottle with straw in the middle. this cuts off all other air into the bottle
Put the bottle in hot water. What happens to the water in the straw?
Put the bottle now in cold water and see what happens to the water in the straw.
Watching to see what happens.....
Writing down what happened

Welcome 2010

Happy New Year!
Tage was sad that he fell asleep last night. So when it got dark tonight, we busted out the sparklers and poppers that we were going to do last night.
