Prayers and stuff

We always say a family prayer in the morning before Dan goes to work and then one at night when we are putting him to bed. Occasionally we ask Parker if he wants to say the prayer. He used to say no or he would repeat some of the stuff that we tell him to say. The past few days he has been doing it all by himself! It is so cute. He says "Thank you for..." and then looks around the room and thanks Heavenly Father for everything. The first time he said his own prayer he blessed Heavenly Father and Jesus. It was too cute! I love to hear him pray even when he tries to say his own prayer while the young men are blessing the sacrament. :)

Parker has been such a good boy lately. He has actually been eating 3 good meals a day which is odd for him. He even tried some new food this past week (even more odd). He picks up on things really quickly if we are consistent so maybe one of these days we will try the whole potty training thing or maybe we will wait a few months. :) I have definitely gained a of routines lately. We are pretty consistent about how we put him down for naps and bedtime and even little things like holding his hand when we walk in the parking lot or road. So now he expects it. And for the most part, when you tell him it is nap time or bed time he happily runs up stairs.

Parker talks all day long! I am amazed at the things he is able to say. He can pretty much tell you anything he wants or needs these days. I love listening to him to talk while he plays with his toys. We like to think he is pretty smart. :) Now we just need to teach him when to stop talking... I apologize to all of the people sitting around us at church yesterday.

Family Pictures

We went to Duke Gardens yesterday and tried to take some family pictures by ourselves. It's not too bad when you have a tripod and a remote. The problem is a 2 year old that won't sit still or smile or look at the camera when you want him to. All things considered I think we got some good pictures. I can't wait to try again!

Parker is very hard to take pictures of because he doesn't sit still. But Dan managed to get some really cute pictures of him on our walk the other day.

Hello

For those of you who missed the announcement on Facebook, we are expecting another bundle of joy in July. We feel very blessed and are really excited! This pregnancy has been a lot different than the last. I am hoping the nausea goes away soon. Other than that everything is great! Our doctors' office is very supportive of VBACs so we will hope for the best. We will keep you updated.

More Colorado Christmas Pictures

Colorado Christmas - Part 1

For Christmas this year Dan and I got a new camera. We love it! We love it so much that in a 2-day trip to the mountains we took about 800 pictures so be warned this is going to be long.

We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve this year and drove into the mountains on Christmas day. We stayed in a cabin for 3 days and 2 nights. I (Kari) was a little worried about our "rustic" cabin, but it was a lot of fun. Parker loved playing in the snow and being with family.




This is the view from the cabin...day and night. Pretty sweet, eh?!



The 2nd day Dan and I went cross-country skiing together. Dan had a pretty sweet fall while skiing down a hill.



For Dan and his brothers the cabin trip was an opportunity to relive their Boy Scout days. They used to come up to that same cabin when they were growing up. So of course there was a lot of building...ski jumps, sledding hills, forts for the kids.



Oh wait! Let's go back to Christmas now. Here is Parker and Dan opening some presents.


The kids got to open 1 present on Christmas Eve.

We tried to get Parker to play Joseph during the reading of the Christmas story on Christmas Eve, but the costume stayed on for about 10 seconds and that was after several attempts to get it on. Don't let this happy face fool you.

Parker is lucky to have a cousin only 2 months older than him. They were so cute together.

The kids loved going to the park down the road from Grandpa and Grandma's house.
