Funny Conversations

1. Parker wanted to watch a movie during lunch and I finally had to tell him not to ask me again or he was going to time-out. Then we had the following conversation:

Parker: Do you know the rules?
Me: Yes. I make the rules.
Parker: I make rules too. I have rules.
Me: What's your rule?
Parker: If you let me watch a movie I will let you eat your food.
Me: Laughing
Parker: Don't do that. Do you know the rules?
Me: Still laughing.

2. In the car on the way to pick up a friend.

Parker: Why are there big houses?
Me: There are big families and small families so there are big houses and little houses.
Parker: We have a small family.
Me: Do you want to have a big family? There is a family in the ward that has 7 kids!
Parker: I want 7 kids.
Me: We would have to buy a new van. We wouldn't all fit in here.
Parker: Yeah. We could buy a really big van.  thinks for a minute   No. I want 100 kids!
Me: 100 kids! We would have to buy lots of vans to fit everyone.
Parker: No. We would have to buy a bus.
Me: Oh really? Are you going to buy the bus?
Parker: Yes.

Soccer

Ethan thinks he can play soccer just like his big brother. If he starts playing at 10 months he could be pretty good someday...

By the way, Parker takes his shirt off because it happened in a soccer video he watched with Dan. He thinks you have to take your shirt off when you score because you are so happy. Haha.

Another Interesting Week

Today at Target I accidentally ran into Parker with the shopping cart. Of course I hit the scab on the back of his head from a previous accident and reopened it. After we calmed him down, cleaned him up and started walking through the store again he said on more than one occasion, "Mom, can you not hit me again." Dan and I looked at each other and laughed. I hope no one heard him. :)

In case you didn't know, string cheese is for art not for eating.

Ethan is walking a lot these days. He has been taking steps for a couple of weeks, but he is getting really good at it now.

Spring Fun

We have been trying to enjoy having some flexibility and time to do fun things together before Dan starts rotations again next month. We are in for quite the adventure this next school year so we are taking the chance to relax. We took the boys to a Durham Bulls game. We spent an afternoon at the Museum of Life and Sciences. We took a day trip to the beach with friends. And, Parker started soccer (the parks and rec department has a free soccer program for 3-5 year olds).  Besides a few classic meltdowns (he really does not understand the team concept or sharing the ball) he has done very well and had a good time.
