Let's party!

  Since we finally had space to entertain again we decided to have a little Christmas party at our home. We ended up picking a pretty horrible weekend to do it since a good amount of the couples we invited had other Christmas parties to go to. That's okay though, it was nice to have a more intimate party and get to know a few couples from church a little better.

  As the holidays got closer I began seeing a lot of pictures/blog posts of people doing "Hot Cocoa" bars, I instantly knew I wanted to have a party and do that! It was a lot of fun prepping for the party...too bad my photography skills need some work so I can't give the set-up justice.

  We did white chocolate dipped candy canes to stir with and lots of add-in's! Jack whipped up some home made milk chocolate and white chocolate hot drinks, they were DELISH! We also had a few appetizers to snack on to break the sugar high. We played some fun couples games and got a quite a few laughs from them, as well as a gift exchange. We had a lot of fun and hope to make it a new tradition!



Another quick visit to UT

The weekend after Thanksgiving Katy and I headed to UT for Tobin's baby blessing. It was a lot of fun to have a "girls" trip, though the boys...particularly Tyler were pretty jealous (he's been asking me ever since when he and I can go on an airplane by ourselves). When we moved to Denver I was so excited to be closer to family and be able to make it to events like these. Katy and I had a lot of fun spending time with my sister Jennifer-Lee and her family. My parents were also in town for the blessing, as well as some of Daniel's family.

 Daniel's grandparents like to play Bingo with the whole family and even have prizes for each person who gets Bingo...we played until all the prizes were gone. Daniel's whole family is so silly and fun, I always enjoy hanging out with them, though my cheek muscles are usually sore from laughing so much.

 Tobin's blessing was wonderful, as all baby blessings are.

 It was fun to have time with Katy without having to worry about balancing my time among 3 kids. I painted her toes for the first time while there. She wasn't sure what to think of it, but sat relatively still for the whole process.

 It was a lot of fun spending time with my sister as well. We were up pretty late one night and got pretty darn silly....we had a little fun with the sleeping Tobin :)

One last goodbye as she dropped me off at the airport. I am completely smitten by sweet Tobin. He is just so darn cute, I am sure they are so excited to finally have a boy to add to their group of girlie's! We'll need to visit often so that he can see how boys are supposed to act....my boys shouldn't have a problem showing him the ropes.

Thanksgiving 2011

Wow, I can't believe I've let this blog fall SO behind. And to think, I even had this post ready and for some reason never posted it?! Anyhow, Thanksgiving......

Thanksgiving 2011 was spent at our home with the Mo side of the family. It was fun to show them all our new home and new stomping grounds. They cousins were so excited to see each other again since it had been a few months! We were lucky to have nice weather so no one had to deal with snow during travel. Jimmy and Bekah drove down from Omaha and Jacks parents flew here from Delaware.

We kept Thanksgiving dinner simple, but delicious! We used a rub that my Uncle Robert created on our turkey breast and it received RAVE reviews....we even used again for our Christmas turkey it was so delicious! Tyler is such a picky eater still, so to be nice on the holiday we even made him his own batch of potstickers:)

Katy and Clara got along a little better....Clara couldn't bop Katy on the head this time:) The other kiddos played with Lego's a lot and of course a lot of Wii was played.

A couple of days after Thanksgiving Jimmy and Bekah headed back home and my parents came through town on their way to baby Tobin's blessing. It was really nice to see them and they enjoyed visiting with Jack's parents. Their visit was cut short because of an impending snow storm, so they had to leave early to get over the mountain's and head to UT before the storm hit.

Overall it was a wonderful holiday weekend with plenty of delicious food, family and fun!
