Recently I had started to wonder if maybe I have had postpartum (now that Kate is almost two). Not bad enough that I have wanted to hurt myself, or Kate, and not bad enough that I couldn't function. However it is bad enough that there are days, I can't handle her, I can't. After talking to a friend of mine, I found out she had a very mild form of it. She recommended a vitamin supplement called Sam-e. I started taking it Thursday it says on the box that it can take 7 to 14 days to see a difference. After 2 days I can see a small difference. I will have to see what I feel like after 14 days.
Another thing I am going start trying to help my mood. I decided to start running. I hate running, for a slightly different reason than most would think. I hate it because my eyes bounce, which ends up making me little motion sick. After talking to someone else who recently started running, they told me that I was probably running wrong. They said I was probably landing on my feet wrong. So nice bright and early tomorrow, I am going to go to a running store, and get fitted for running shoes. I also talked to my aunt (through marriage) who has been running for as long as I have known her (for about 12 years). She suggested an article from Runners World called Running 101. The article gives a great walk/run schedule for beginners. She also suggested going with someone. I am going to try going with her this week, and get some tips and pointers on things I need to work on, than I am going to see if one of my neighbors would go with me. I want to go three times a week. What I am hoping I can do is three times a week run, and three times a week do Pilates or some type of aerobic exercises (just not Yoga at the moment, it tends to frustrate me).
There are going to be days this is going to be hard on me, and there are going to be days that I just can't do it. However I am not going to give up. I am going to take things one step at a time, and I know that for the first few weeks it will be a struggle. I will have to get schedules worked out with Kraig on my exercise days (Kate tries to sit and bounce on anyone that lays down). I can take Kate running with me, I can push her in the stroller (now I am wishing we had bought a jogging stroller, oh well I will make do).
With how stressed I have been, I know I need to do something. I have been so stressed out that it has been making me physically sick (not to mention breaking out like I am a teenager again, yuck). So I am going to run. I also started writing in a journal again (It has been since just after I got married that I quit!!!). I am so grateful that I have the freedom and the option to do so much. I know things will work out, and I know that everything happens for a reason. I just need to remember this quote:
"It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. … If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." - Gordon B. Hinckley
