Which is so unfair coz I've only been 20 for a month (and 3 days)!!

Ish....

It's so fast... Another year has gone. A lot of people asked me this year when would I be finishing my degree. Everytime I answer them (I only have another year plus), I'm reminded that time flies and in a blink of an eye, I'll be leaving Kampar and starting off somewhere else.

I dowan I dowan!! I dowan to grow-up and start thinking grown-up stuff!!

Which is kinda sad because I've grown to love Kampar (poky old place as it is) and the people there. It'll be different starting off in a new place and having to fit in again...

Ok, sheesh... I sound like I'm gonna leave tomorrow or something. Shu Ern not yet say anything, I start bisinging here edi...

Anyway, this year has been a good one for me. Started off a little weird, grew bumpy in the middle but in the end, everything is fine and I loved every moment of it. I need to thank my family and all my friends for making all these moments memorable for me! ^^

Hmmm... I'm not goin to make any New Year resolutions, coz I know I cannot, will not and would not keep them.

I just hope I'll survive through the next year... Subjects seem to be getting harder and harder...

Post Christmas

One word- FAT!!

Gosh, this must be one of the Christmases which I have been eating and eating. Whether by choice or not, I have been out to dinners and gatherings where there were offensive amount of food available. Therefore, being the low-self control creature that I am, there was nothing I could do but eat... T_T

Not only that, my family is one that is very semangated at baking. My bros and I like baking during festive seasons (we hafta thank out mom, coz she's the one who made us bake)

So behold our masterpiece!


Ladies and gentlemen, thou art looking at the the chocolate cake, lemon-chocolate cheesecake and cornflake-raisin-chocolate cooky baked by the Tan Siblings!

*smirks proudly*

Ok Gale, you can stop laughing now. I know it is nothing compare to what you can bake...

Anyway, after you bake, you eat, right? It's the circle of life. And after you eat, you get fat. That's that...

*weeps violently*

Still, I kinda liked Christmas this year. I get to spend time with my family again and gorge on my mom's awesome cooking. You should have seen our Christams lunch!! (sorry, no photos, everyone makaned it before I could do anything)

Oh ya, we got a new tree this year!

It's bigger compared to the previous one we had. We did it up in blue and silver.


Don't be fooled by the amount of presents. Half of them are fake. Hehehehe...

*smiles happily*

But then, this Christmas reminded me again of getting older. When I got back this time, I noticed that more and more of my friends did not come back. They were either overseas or too busy to make it back for Christmas. Yep, people of my batch are all getting older and living their own life now...

And it's also during this Christmas where I somehow wished that we humans could be at two places at the same time.

Can you imagine more that one Renjie walking about? Hehehe...

Housework

Yesterday

Mom: Tonight sleep early a, tomorrow all get up at 8am. We're gonna make tang yuen and clean the house.

Bros and me: *gasps* 8am?!


Today

Younger twin (Renjing): Jie!!!! Mommy ask you to come down nowwww!!

Me: Commiinngg...


For one hour-

*making tang yuen*

We stuffed half the the tang yuen with chocolate, so when you bite into them, there will be chocolate squishing out. Hehehe...

Mom: Don't bocorkan the tang yuen a... Later the chocolate come out...

Me: Oookkk...


Next hour

*munching sounds of tang yuen being eaten*

Bros: The chocolate ones are very nice!

Me: *munch munch munch*


Next next hour-

Mom: Ok, you guys can start cleaning now. *serene smile*

Bros and me: *grumble*


So begun the scrubbing, wiping and washing. Like usual, I'll wash the mosquito netting and my bros will wipe the windows.

Note to self: Don't buy a house with hard-to-wipe windows and mosquito netting that scratch

Older twin (Renjian): Jie, you got clean properly or not?

Me: ?!

Jian: Hehehehe....

Me: Go away la! Your windows oso not clean wanna come kacau me!


Jing: Jie, this one wash edi or not? *points to a stack of netting*

Me: Not yet, still washing this one. *scrub scrub scrub*

Jing: Hmmm....

Me: Wat "hmmm..."?!?! Your windows not yet clean wanna come spot check on me?!


Me: *looks at bros* ?!

Bros: Wat? *drenched*

Me: Why are you so wet?! Wipe windows can get so wet wan meh?

Bros: Kena splash by water ma... *sounding as if I were an idiot to ask that question*


Yeah, the older my bros get, the more annoying they are. I am no match for them anymore.


After lunch-

Me: *wiping furniture*

Bros: *still wiping windows*

Mom: *wiping fan*

*Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head playing in the background*


Funnily enough, as much as I hate doing housework, I'd rather do it while arguing with my bros and hearing mom nagging at me at a spot I missed than getting a maid to do it. At least I get to talk more and bicker with them on the way. Hehe...

*wipe wipe wipe*

"Sleep a!"

"Why are you sleeping so late?"

"Do you always sleep this late in Kampar?"

"In Kampar oso you sleep so late right?"

"Do you know sleeping late can shorten you life and make you look old and ruin your complexion?"

"Wei, 12 something edi la... What are you still doing at your computer?!"

Yep, the never ending nagging about my sleeping time from my mom. She's worried about my sleeping and waking hours turning topsy turvy.

In another few hours my paper would be over and I'm free at last for this sem.

But now, awaiting and anticipating the agonizing 2 and a half hours of poems, short stories, dramas and novels, I don't feel good at all.

I want time to go faster, yet I don't want it to...

I want to stop studying now and just stone for the rest of the time that I have, yet I still wanna cram in what I can...

I want to tear out the pages of my books now, yet I still want so perserve the literature that our fellow Malaysians write for us...

A fickle-minded creature you say? Yeah, you won't be the first person to call me that.

It's late at night... Or early in the morning...

It's that time again, where we students stay up and mug our way through the dreaded time of our semesters.

It's the period where the stress level goes up and the happiness level goes down.

It's the time where you start wondering - what if I fail this? what if I fail that? how many marks can I afford to lose if I wanna maintain my grades?

It's the time where you start rantinging nonsense and stay up late typing a post when you should be in bed sleeping.

It's the moment when you feel - aww shucks... Japanese is so not meant for me and Malaysian Lit is just a bunch of meaningless scribbles.

For lunch, we went to this kinda classy Chinese restaurant in Queensbay. Not bad, not bad...

But then again, I'm coming back to Kampar to suffer with Jap n Mal Lit rite? So why not eat until happy first? :D

Sleep

Sleep is the most amazing thing on earth. You can go a whole day without food and not feel as terrible as you go a whole day without sleep. No matter how fatigued you are, once you have got your sleep, you would wake up feeling much better.

When you shut your eyes and lie down, you kinda shut out the whole world around you as well, and that is where you actually get your really personal, personal space. No one can invade your sleep, unless they come into your dreams. So, sleep actually gives you the most secure sense of security...

But as we were talking about it that day, we noticed that if humans need not sleep, we would have a lot of extra time on our hands. How many times has it been when we wanted to do so many things, but forgo them because of sleep?

Therefore, if there is anyone who could compress sleep into a pill and sell it, the fella would be a millionaire by the age of 25, maybe even 20....

Long, overdue and compulsory

I think I owe this post to all my friends and family for giving me such a great 20th birthday. It's not the gifts or presents that I received, but it's people who are associated with them that makes it very very meaningful.

Ah Fun
She gave me my first present way before my birthday even started. I really really liked the couple tee that she got for me and herself. Then on my birthday itself, she gave me a Wang Lee Hom fan. *screams* Each section of the fan is his pic! I luv ya girl!! You're the best roomie! Sorry for always not being around...!



Kian Ting
My classmate of 5 years and now my housemate bought a cute little chocolate topped cake for me. Ah Ting, you're gonna make me fat(er)! But thanks, it was very nice!



Sze Lee
Another 5 year classmate and current housemate. A bear piggy bank. Cute eh? Hehehe... It's been great having them in the house. It's as if we brought a bit of our secondary school to Kampar....



CF
The CF committee pounced on me and Shirley on the day before her birthday at her house. After scaring her by jumping out from behind the stairs, they scared me by singing Happy Birthday to me as well... Hehehe...

The members totally outdid themselves this time when they were in charge of the activities for the night. Check out the birthday greetings that they wrote for Shirley and me.



Belle made the loveliest card that I've ever seen. Really loved it girl! They filled it with the signatures of all the CF committee and menbers. Thanks for all the effort!

Mr President gave me 20 fishies for my birthday. But due to unknown certain circumstance (and my own idiocity), only one survived... I'm so SOREE ERIC!! The one surviving one was dully gave the name Teddy (courtesy of AnnJan). Say Hi to Teddy!



Kelvin and Sui Yen
I got this tiger pencil case from possibly the cutest couple that I've ever met. They're a couple that the rest of us really look up to. Hehehehe... Kelv and Sui Yen, faster get married la!

The wackist couple in CF and our cute little Felicia got me something that I had desperately needed for a long time... I will make sure that I will get a pair of them for my birthday every year. Hehehe.... Behold my silver slippers!

Our dear photographer gave me The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I have a new book! *squeals* I had planned to borrow it from Gale, but now I can take my own sweet time reading and gan jionging over it. Thanks a lot Shu!

My darling cousins bought me a very nice baju. They know I like black! *muacks* You girls are the awesomest cousins anyone could have. The number of times that you all have helped me out have been too many for me to count. Oh ya, I love the card too!
