LEARN and GROW

Dallen is learning so fast!! He is trying so hard to be a big boy. He has the right attitude to want to learn to do things on his own. I am so proud and yet so sentimental of each new moment. I love this boy with all my heart and I love watching him grow :)

Dallen has been standing on his strong legs for quite sometime now but lately he wants to do it all by himself. With the support of the jungle gym mat, he did it!! Mark was holding on and let go for the picture and he stood all by himself.Dallen is also struggling to sit up. At every waking moment he is working on his ab muscles. Every time we lay him on his back he immediately flexes and tries his very hardest to sit up. He just wants to be vertical. With all this practice, I have a feeling he will be sitting up all by himself in no time at all.Last, but not least, Dallen shed his first real tears. It was one of the saddest moments of my life, but I just had to snap a picture. It was his first real, sad cry with real tears and everything. My heart went out to him and I will probably remember this moment forever!! I love my little boy :)

When we went to CA to visit my family, Dallen's Mimi had a plethora of new clothes for little D. I was so grateful because Dallen was outgrowing ALL of his clothes!! He is growing so fast. The majority of the clothes my mom bought were size 6-9 months. When we came home and I started dressing Dallen in various outfits and every time Mark would ask, "where did that come from?" I would say, "my mom, remember?" He was so surprised and said that all those clothes looked too big and he didn't think they would fit for a while. Well, our big boy loves his new big boy clothes and has been wearing them every day this last week. I snapped many pictures to show our thanks!! So, thank you Mimi!!!

SPOONS

The word means so many things: they are used as a measuring device, they are sometimes considered collectibles, they are the name of a game and are a type of cuddling but today they are the way Dallen ate his lunch!! Dallen was watching me eat a cup of Jello and it was like a light bulb turned on and he was ready to try it. The very first attempt at eating with a spoon was a couple of weeks ago and it was kinda hilarious and very unsucessful. It was captured on video but my stupid computer won't upload it to Blogger :( This time was very sucessful and so fun but since I was alone, there are no photos. Maybe next time Mark will be around to capture the moment. It is so fun to teach Dallen new things and I am always so proud of my big boy when he learns new things. Being a Mommy is the best!!!

a LOVEly weekend

We had such an amazing holiday weekend and it was so full of LOVE!! We made kind of a last minute trip to California to see my cousin get married. It was a beautiful union between the best of friends and we are so happy to welcome Katie into our family. We got some super cute pictures at the wedding. Of course with the beautiful bride, one with all the cousins (yes, I'm the only blonde), a gorgeous picture of my own little family, and an adorable picture with Great-Grandma, Dallen was so entranced with her beauty, it was so cute to watch.We had a wonderful Valentine's day. The weather was absolutely fabulous and the views were amazing. I was so lucky to have 2 Valentine's this year. Dallen even brought me a card and asked that I be his Valentine ;)And finally, Dallen got to see his little girlfriend Sienna at church. They even got all dressed up to see eachother. I can't get over how cute these little pictures are. We felt a little guilty for snapping these shots in the chapel, but how could we resist?

This Time

This time last year Mark and I were on a weekend getaway to Arizona and had a baby on the way and didn't even know it.

This time around for Valentine's Day we live in Arizona and have a beautiful baby boy!!
It is amazing to think that a year ago I had little Dallen growing inside of me and didn't even know it yet. I am so blessed to have this amazing little man in my life. This year I am lucky enough to have 2 Valentines, both of which are not good picture participators, but I love them :) HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

4 months and counting

Dallen is 4 months old now and time is flying by. He weighs 15 LBS 9 OZS and is in the 75th percentile for weight and is 26.5 inches tall, which puts him in the 97th percentile for height. We can already tell we have a big boy on our hands, his giant feet have been wearing 1 year old socks for months now!! It is amazing to watch this little one grow! He is coo-ing and gah-ing and blows bubbles. He gives hugs and kisses. He is so responsive and playful. He was sleeping through the night, until he started teething and now, well, we just take things one day at a time. Dallen is such a blessing in our lives and we love the joy he brings into our home. We will continue to keep you all posted on his little life as he learns and grows!!

Where's the pool?

The other day I got out of the shower and came into Dallen's room to find this:He looked like he had his floaties on and was ready to go swimming. This kid is hilarious and doesn't even know it. He is so fun!! I can't wait to take him out to the pool, I'm just not ready to be seen in a swimsuit quite yet ;) Although I know everyone would just be looking at this super cute baby of mine!!

Not so SUPERbowl

We came so close and yet finished so far. The game was a crazy one and at least we had a blast watching it. We made sure to snap some memories of our SuperBowl experience for those who couldn't make it to our party.

Here's one of Little D watching the big game with Daddy.He got really scared and cried when everyone would jump and scream (including Daddy) so Mommy had to hold him. Dallen was a little confused when we said there were chicken wings amongst the munchies.Dallen was dreaming of touchdowns during halftime.Kisses for touchdowns.Don't you just love his little football jammies just for the game. Not to mention the RED socks to represent. We still love you Cardinals!!
