How to make a sick kid smile

We had a lot of fun in California. Unfortunately little D was sick for most of the trip which means we really don't have a lot of pictures. Also, my camera battery died. Thank goodness for the iPhone or we'd have none. Here are just a couple highlights from our trip that I think speak for themselves.
Thanks to Mimi for babysitting, to Uncle Scotty for playing "Bball" (lacrosse) constantly and for eventually buying Big D his very own stick :) and to Auntie Aubrey for teaching Dallen to say "That's Disgusting" and to Grandpa for playing in the backyard and letting D help with the yardwork!! We love you and miss you already.

Which way to the beach?

Leave it to Dallen to get a respiratory infection the day we start our vacation in California. Until today we have been on house arrest here at my parents, which is not so bad!! But finally late last night Dallen's 4 day fever broke and we were able to get out and spend some time out in the sunshine.Not only did we get to spend time in the sun, we got to see this beautiful girlThese two are a match made in heavenDallen spent lots of time chasing after SiennaSometimes she let him get almost close enough to hold her handThey climbed on the rocks together
And when Siena ignored him, Dallen was perfectly content finding other things to do, like...throwing sandthrowing sand on mommymaking new friendsand a little bit of everything else.
I love me some fun beach time with my favorite little man and some friends!!

Climbing the Corporate Ladder

We are now in California in an attempt to climb the corporate ladder. Mark is taking the California Bar exam next week and we are requesting all of your prayers and best wishes!! Most everyone has asked, does that mean you are moving to California? I wish!! We are simply trying to open up opportunities and make Mark's impressive resume even more marketable. We are so proud of him and wish him good luck!! We love you :)

The quote above is one of my favorites. This Valentine's Day I hope that we all remember the greatest love of all.











Thanks to the Browns, we had a wonderful Valentine's weekend and I got to spend lots of time with my sweetheart. And thank you Mimi for the coloring book, I think every page has already been scribbled on, as well as some of the furniture in our house!! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone we love...XOXO!!

Sweet Talker

Sometimes I feel like it might take a professional linguist, communication expert or an interpreter of tongues to comprehend Dallen, but lately, we have really improved upon our ability to understand each other. Recently I have discovered that when Dallen wants to watch his favorite movie, Madagascar, he says "animals" . He calls Mickey Mouse "hot dog" because they do the hot dog dance at the end of every episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. And big D has just started wanting to wear shoes, unfortunately he's not so great at matching. He brings me these slippers, his favorite flip-flops or his big snow boots and says "shoes on" all the time!!

A Walk in the Park
