Vampires at our house!

My sister, Sarah, calls me the other day and says "Heather, Mason said that Max told Miss Becky that you have Vampires at your house!"

I said, "What......"

So, I went to the source, MAX! I asked him, Max did you tell your teacher that we have vampires at our house. Very casually from my 5 year old as he's watching Scooby Doo, YES. So, I asked him where the vampires are, thinking of course he's making it up. He says, by the snakes of course. As if I was supposed to know all this. Logically my next question is, where are the snakes. Thinking this whole time he's been outside some where by our ditch and playing with snakes. I think he sensed my worry and said "Mom, they're wooden of course". Now that got me thinking.... They're wooden! And then it dawned on me, duh! My good friend had made me the CUTEST Halloween decorations, a witch, a mummy and a vampire with a snake at his feet!

I called Sarah back and we had the best laugh! Vampires at our house, what was I thinking!

TAG, you're it!

Sarah tagged me....

The rules: Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people.

1. I hate listing facts about me. Really, I do. What I know, I just know and can't ever think of something to list. I love and hate these games.

2. Alright, one down 5 to go. I'll think of some real facts.....Hmmmm.... Okay, here we go. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being a MOM. Max is the best kid and makes it so fun to be a mom. He has his moments but it really is fun. We love to play and laugh and hug, it's the best. And now another baby for all the same and more fun times. We all can't wait!

3. I am 31 years old and yes, I am afraid of the dark and under my bed. Not terrified like when we were little but definitely some irrational fears there. It all goes back to when my parents, bless their hearts, liked to watch the show " The Twilight Zone". On this episode there were monster men under every ones bed and if you went out after dark one of these monster men would get you and take you to who knows where. BUT if it was the monster man from under your bed you would be safe. So, the 10 year old boy figured out that he had a monster man under his bed and they became 'friends'. He thought he would be safe all the time since he knew the monster man was his friend. So, long story short, he went out and some other monster man got him. Now, seriously, would you let your child watch this? No, i don't think so! 20 Years later, I am still afraid of the monster man that I KNOW does not exist, but alas, that is my IRRATIONAL fear. At least one of them !

4. I hate clutter. HATE IT! I hate when things pile up on my counter. I can't stand to have stuff things all over the floor. These things drive me batty. If I come to you house and you have piles and piles of things piled up it does not bother me, not a bit. But if it's at my house, I can't stand it. Honestly, I get a little anxious and irritable. But, I'm working on it and I'm doing much better!

5. I love to workout. I love to run. It feels so good to do those things. I love to have a strong and healthy body. I love to sweat. Gross I know but it's true. I haven't been able to do these things for about 3 months but it is COMPLETELY worth it. I will do it again in 6 or so months. I highly recommend trying anything that will make you sweat, you'll feel great when you're done.

6. Sixth and final fact/habit. Hmmm, it's getting tougher. I love to sleep. Oooh, I love it. It's so relaxing and you usually feel so great when you wake up. Scott had to answer questions about me for a Relief Society lesson. One of the questions was 'What would Heather do if she had spare time?' Answer 'Sleep, of course'. He's so good! (It was a little competition and we won, so cute). But since I've been pregnant I've not been able to sleep very well. Again, well worth it but I do miss my sleep! Happy dreams everyone!

I tag Julie and Brecca. Since I only have four friends and Sarah sent this to Carrie, Julie and Brecca are my only friends left. Good luck Jules and Brec!

Training wheels, who needs 'em??

This is my Max, isn't he cute? Look at that mischievous little grin! He's such the little dare devil, must be a boy thing. Earlier this Spring his cousin tried to teach him to ride his bike without training wheels and I have to say for a 4 and 5 year old they did really well.

Now that it's October, Scott and I decided for Family Night we would teach him how to ride. Ha ha, I say we would teach but he jumped on and took off like he'd been doing it for days. Days aren't bad for you first try.

He rode for about a mile and never had a bad crash. When he starts to fall he jumps and lets the bike fall. It's great fun to watch. This crash was posed for the camera!

I'm a slacker....

It's been so long since I posted on here but I have good reason. I've been sick, sick, sick. Which is great! I am more than happy to be sick because I know that all is going right with the baby. At least it helps me think so. I went to the doctor today and all looks and sounds great. The heart beat was nice and strong and healthy. What a blessing. Sometimes I forget that I'm pregnant and then I remember and it's such a warm feeling that comes over me. What a miracle to be able to carry a baby, I love it. It truly is a BLESSING!

No more stinky pigs!

Here are the most recent pictures of our stinky, smelly gross pigs! Can't you just imagine the smell....

STINKY, SMELLY, GROSS PIGGIES!!!

They were much bigger than this by the time they 'left'. ABout 250 pounds. What a bunch of pigs!

The farm is dwindling down, thank goodness. The pigs will soon be ready for dinner. Max loved the pigs but he gets the whole picture. We raise the pigs for food. He asks us, when we have pork for dinner, which pig it is. He's a funny kid! I'm glad he understands how it all works.

I'M WHAT.....???

I'm having a baby!! I can't believe it. 11 weeks along now. After years of waiting, praying, hoping and trying, it just happened. Seriously, it just happened. We didn't even find out until I was about 6 weeks along. I finally went out and bought a test which I usually take right when I get home but I waited until the next day because I was sure that I knew the answer. The next morning I got up and did my thing and before I could even put the test down it was positive. I had to make Scott look because I was so surprised. I never get positive tests, that's just me. So, I called the doctor and they had me come right in and get a blood test done. Everything looked right. Then we had an ultra sound, which was SO scary. They started looking for the baby, no baby. She was telling us that sometimes there's no baby and it just happens... and then she said "Oh, oh, wait, there it is!!" The heartbeat is strong and healthy, it looks perfect. We've had two more ultra sounds since then, the baby is growing perfectly and looks very strong. In the last ultra sound you could see 'him' moving his little arm around like he was waving. Talk about bringing tears to your eyes, I sobbed. I've been sick, which is a good sign, and tired, also a good sign, so all is looking good. Just remember to pray for our little baby.

Max is so excited to have a brother, he won't hear of a sister. He prays every day that the baby will be strong and healthy like Mommy's little Max. It's so cute. He already picked out the name of his brother, Jake. As in the John Wayne movie 'Big Jake'. I don't so much agree but we'll see. It could still be a little sister, wouldn't that be shocker for him...
