Cześć!
Jakiś czas temu przygarnęłam foremkę dużej barokowej ramki Prosvet - ma piękny kształt, jest pełna wypukłości, które aż proszą się o podkreślenie. Wykorzystałam ją jako bazę pod wiersz, który ułożyłam z innego mojego ulubionego ostatnimi czasy produktu, czyli zestawu naklejek Clippings Tima Holtza - wyglądają jak teksty powycinane z książek i starych dokumentów.

A while ago I got my hands on a big baroque frame mould from Prosvet - it has a beautiful shape and it's very dimensional and just waiting to be highlighted. I used it as a base for a poem which I created using another one of my recently favourite products - Tim Holtz Clippings stickers - they look like pieces of old books and documents.

Ramkę najpierw pokolorowałam farbami Media Fluid Acrylics DecoArt - najwyraźniej widać robiący ostatnio karierę kolor Quinacridone Gold :) - a po wyschnięciu wypukłości pokreśliłam Inką Gold w kolorze starego srebra, smerając palcem.

I first painted the frame with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - the most prominent color is the very popular Quinacridone Gold :) - and after it dried, I highlighted the raised areas with Old Silver Inka Gold by spreading it with my finger.

Za tło posłużył bardzo dobrze koordynujący się papier z kolekcji Tima Holtza 'Correspondence', a brzegi naklejek potraktowałam czarnym tuszem Distress.

I backed the frame with a paper sheet from the Tim Holtz 'Correspondence' paper pad and applied some black Distress Ink to the edges of the stickers.

Ramka chyba zawiśnie na ścianie... 

Mam nadzieję, że spodoba Wam się taki prosty patent. :)

The frame will probably go on a wall...

Distress Oxides: kolorystyczne kombo / color combos

Cześć! Dziś chciałabym pokazać Wam wyniki zabawy tuszami Distress Oxide - wypróbowywałam różne połączenia kolorów i poniższe duety małych kart ATC to efekty trzech takich prób. Każde tło tworzyłam 'smarując' poduszką z tuszem po craft macie, spryskując je wodą, zbierając kolor papierem, susząc i powtarzając, nakładając kolejne warstwy, i jeszcze raz, i jeszcze... do uzyskania zadowalającego efektu.

Hi! Today I'd like to share with you the results of playing around with Ditress Oxides - I've been trying various color combos and the ATC duets below are the effects of three such combinations.  Each background was created by smearing the ink pad on my craft mat, spraying with water, collecting onto my paper, drying and repeating, repeating, repeating... until I was satisfied with the effect.

COMBO 1

Pierwsze połączenie kolorów to piękny, brudny vintage. Wygląda jakby było tu więcej kolorów niż 3, ale widać tu przede wszystkim Frayed Burlap (w wydaniu Oxide'owym ten kolor to fenomen sam w sobie) i Wild Honey oraz odrobiny Black Soot. No i to niby-kredowe wykończenie!

The first color combo is beautiful dirty vintage. It looks as if there were more than three colors here but what you can see is mostly the result of working with Frayed Burlap (as an Oxide it is a phenomenon in itself) and Wild Honey with little bits of Black Soot. And the seemingly-chalky finish!

COMBO 2

Drugie kombo to ostatnio moja ulubiona paleta: niebieskości takie jak Salty Ocean i fiolety jak Seedless Preserves, z odrobiną różu Picked Raspberry (i chlapnięciami czarnego Black Soot na sam wierzch).

The second combo is my favorite color palette of late: blues as in Salty Ocean and violets as in Seedless Preserves, with a tiny bit of Picked Raspberry pink (and some splashes of Black Soot at the top).

COMBO 3

Ostatnie kombo jest chyba najbardziej spektakularne - z trzech kolorów zrobiło się tu znaacznie więcej, a efekt końcowy jest tak jakby jednocześnie neonowy i jednocześnie kredowy (jak to w ogóle możliwe?!). Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry i Twisted Citron zdziałały tutaj moim zdaniem cuda. :)

The last combo has the biggest 'wow' effect - out of the three colors I got waaay more and the end result seems to be neon and chalk at the same time (how is that even possible?!). Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron did miracles here I think. :)

Art Jar projects - just for myself

Sharing some of my Art Jar summer projects from the past few weeks - it's so good to create just for the fun of it!

Wszyscy nosimy maski / We all wear masks

Jakiś czas temu odbijałam sobie z masy foremkowe kształty, pracowicie czyszcząc odciski, by były ładne, równe i nie miały żadnych nierówności i frędzelków i pomyślałam sobie - a gdyby tak zrobić odwrotnie? Gdyby tak nie starać się stworzyć idealnego odcisku, a wręcz odbić tylko kawałek wzoru i dać całemu nieforemnemu kawałkowi masy zaschnąć 'tak jak jest'? W ten sposób zaczęła się droga tego maskowego projektu. :)

A while ago, while I was making clay mould prints, intently tidying them up to make them nice and even and neat, I thought to myself - how about doing the exact opposite thing? What if instead of trying to create the perfect print, I were to use only a part of the mould pattern and let the lump of clay dry 'as is'? This was the beginning of the story behind this mask-esque project. :)

Jako bazę wykorzystałam piękną gipsową ramkę firmy Prosvet, a dookoła masek rozsypałam kulki Pentart i biżuteryjne metalowe kółeczka. Całość przykleiłam porządnie za pomocą żel medium Renesansu, a następnie pokryłam czarnym gesso.

I used a prosvet gypsum frame as my base and spilled some Pentart 3D balls and jewellery connectors around my mask shapes. I glued it all down with a decent amount of Renesans heavy gel medium and covered everything with black gesso.

Kolory to wynik nakładania suchym pędzlem wosków Finnabair Antique Brilliance w kolorach Red Amber i Lucky Emerald. Trzeba ich naprawdę odrobinę, a koncentracja pigmentu sprawia, że kolory pojawiają się rach-ciach. Świetnie nadają się do podkreślania wypukłości.

The colors are the effect of dry-brushing Finnabair Antique Brilliance waxes in Red Amber and Lucky Emerald. You only need a tiny little bit of those and the high pigmentation makes the colors appear right away. They're really great for highlighting your textures.

Art Jar Summer - just for myself

Tak zupełnie dla siebie, w ramach pobudzania wyobraźni i robienia sobie dobrze biorę w to lato udział w Art Jar Summer. Nie będę publikować wszystkich prac, które dookoła niego powstają i nie będę tworzyć długich narracji dookoła tego jak i dlaczego i po co. Po prostu - kilka rzeczy, które powstały z radością tworzenia.

Just for myself, to stir my imagination and please myself I'm taking part in Art Jar Summer. I won't be publishing all I make around it or create long narrations about why and how and what for. These are just a few things that were created with the feeling of pure joy.

 

 

Retro KIT & Antyczna mediowa butelka / Antique mixed media bottle

Mało ostatnio tworzyłam, ale to dlatego, że wykonywałam inne manualne prace. :) Składanie KITów to, powiem Wam, nie przelewki. Widzieliście już Retro KIT? Bardzo jestem z niego dumna, a teraz w końcu miałam chwilę czasu, żeby sama przemienić go w coś twórczego. :D

I haven't been creatively present much recently, but that's because I've been doing other manual labour. :) Assembling KITs is no mean feat, lemme tell you. Have you seen the Retro KIT yet? I'm so proud of it, and now I finally had a little time to make it into something. :D

Przychodzę dziś do Was z mediowym projektem wykorzystującym wszystkie cztery media, które znalazły się w Retro KIT 'Czas Leci', czyli: Crackle Paint DecoArt, czarnym gesso Renesansu, Antiquing Cream Patina DecoArt i Inką Gold Viva Decor. Wszystkie media - oraz dodatki z KITa oblepiły niewielką butelkę po całkiem niezłym trunku. ;)

Today I'm here to share with you a mixed media project using all of the four media that can be found in our 'Time Flies' Retro KIT, which are: DecoArt Crackle Paint, black gesso from Renesans, DecoArt Antiquing Cream Patina and Viva Decor Inka Gold. All the media - and some embellishments from the KIT wound up on a small bottle which used to store rather decent liquor. ;)

Na początek oblepiłam całą butelkę bibułką, w którą zapakowany jest KIT, żeby stworzyć teksturę. Dodałam też sznurek, koronkę, wstążkę jutową, korzonki curly moss - wszystko przykleiłam za pomocą żel medium - jako jedynego medium spoza KITa.

First I wrapped the bottle in the tissue paper it comes packed in to create texture. I also added string, lace, burlap ribbon and curly moss pieces - all glued with gel medium - the only medium not within the KIT which I used. 

Na koniec przykleiłam dodatki metalowe i tekturkowe piórka, a następnie przyszedł czas na mediowanie. Po nałożeniu tu i tam i wyschnięciu Crackle Paint całość pomalowałam czarnym gesso (na zdjęciu powyżej stan słoiczka po pomalowaniu butelki - takie jest wydajne!). Potem wszystko pokryłam patynowym kremem, a gdy wysechł starłam go mokrą chusteczką tak, że pozostał tylko w zagłębieniach.

Then I adhered some metal embellishments and chipboard feathers and next, time came for media work. After applying Crackle Paint here and there and letting it dry, I covered the whole thing with black gesso (the amount in the jar above is what was left - it really goes a long way!). Then I applied the patina cream everywhere, and when it dried I wiped it away with a wet wipe, leaving it only in the recesses.

W końcu przyszedł czas na złotą Inkę Gold - nakładaną palcem tak, by podkreślić trójwymiar projektu. Zostawiamy do wyschnięcia - i gotowe! Tak z pomocą KITa zmediować możecie dowolny przedmiot.

Finally, the time came for Inka Gold - applied with my fingers so as to highlight the dimensionality of the project. Leave to dry - and there it is! That's how, using the KIT, you can media-alter basically any object you like.
