Where have the Quillens gone?

Well we haven't posted a blog in quite a while but to explain the following pictures; this is what has happened to the small (in number, not height) little Quillen family. Well as you can see Thanksgiving has come and gone. This Thanksgiving was spent with the Allen family; that meant 22 people in one house for three days. Having 22 people in such close proximity meant that one person with one little cold turned into about 20 people with some major colds.

As you can see from all the medications, I have been battling a horrible cough and lost my voice for a few days. Sadly this resulted from two days of missed work, but I am on the mend and I am feeling much better now that I have received some codeine along with some other cool/fun drugs
from a very kind doctor.
Now you might be asking where is my husband? Michael, as you can see from the picture of piles and piles of books, is studying for those dreary Christmas-time finals. Michael has his first final next Tuesday and the stress is on. He spends most of his day at the library or in our bedroom sitting at our trusty desk cramming as much information into his brain that he possibly can. The exciting part of these finals is that once they are completed Michael will officially be half way done with his law school career! YAAAAAHHH!!! Not that we're excited or anything.

FUTURE CHILDREN ON THE WAY?

Hello from lovely Spokane! Sitting in law school and pondering life, liberty, and pursuing happiness, I decided to pontificate about a very serious and life-altering topic. Some, not all, but more than a few, of our friends and family have employed stealthy stratagem to inquire about our plans for children. In all solemnity and seriousness, the following video is meant to clarify our (perhaps more my thoughts than my lovely wife) current feeling regarding children. Subsequently, I wish to thank my parents for raising me. From the wonderful car trips (in hundred degree weather without air conditioning and a baby (me) who would scream if the window was cracked at all; coupled with the parental patience of 6 children (myself and siblings) enjoying/tormenting each other for endless hours of fun road trips in our - smaller than you would think - suburban) to the relentless barrages of questions and embarrassing moments (like sitting on the stand at church with my father as a young child and loudly/proudly pronouncing the gentleman behind me was asleep during the high counselor's sacrament talk). And of course, the nightly bliss of that infamous time known as "bedtime".

The final order of business is the weekend plan! Stephanie, due to working overtime earlier in the week, has only a half day of work. So at 12:25pm, not to be confused with 12:30pm, I am picking her up (we got rid of my car a few months ago :o( for those who did not know) and we are going to Couer de'Alene Idaho to SHOP for her birthday present - her birthday is November 7...in case anyone forgot...a little early...yes...but this blog is meant to be a reminder that you still have time to get those presents mailed to her. :o) I like M&M Plain - if you are feeling overly generous.

LET THE HOLIDAYS BEGIN

In honor of my recent assignment - ever so generously bestowed upon me by my sweet wife - to write regularly on this blog, I decided to begin today. We are anxiously awaiting the start of our first holiday season as a married couple. Thus, let the holiday season begin!

The first holiday: Halloween! All Hallows Eve. In honor of Halloween, we decorated our apartment with cute little ghosts and figurines. We also decided to carve a pumpkin.

After what seems like an eternity - several hours...we were very careful - but all of our hard work eventually paid off.

Regrettably, in our earnest zeal to celebrate the holiday season, as well as the sudden change from cool temperatures to a lovely warm fall temperature...our pumpkin did not...survive. Our pumpkin shriveled up and the witch disappeared into nothingness...no pictures were taken...the remains would not be appropriate for the Internet.

TIME TO JOIN THE CLUB

So, we finally decided that it was time to join the club and start our own blog. This was more Michael's idea than mine, so I think he'll have the assignment of posting to our blog on a regular basis. I will give him a little push to get it started. Welcome friends and family. We hope you will feel as if you're a little bit more a part of our lives.


Here's some wedding pictures since I'm sure there are many of you who haven't seen any. Michael and I were married in the Columbia River Washington Temple on March 10, 2007. We have now been married over 7 months and time seems to just fly by!
