Scooter

We snuck outside really quick to try out Liam's cousin, Tanner's, scooter. Liam didn't understand the concept but he loved the idea of riding Tanner's scooter which he knew Tanner did not want him riding.

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas and I have to say that being able to attend Sacrament meeting on Christmas really brings Christ into the center of the day.
Liam loved his new presents once they were open but since he was the last one up and his cousins had already opened their gifts Liam was quite confused at the need to open this boxes covered with paper when their were plenty of things already out to play with. Also, not to toot my own horn but I have to admit I LOVE his pajamas that I made them. They turned out perfect and I think they are just so cute on the little guy. We also snapped a quick picture of him in his new Sunday outfit.

Christmas Eve

This year we spent Christmas with the Allen Grandparents and Liam had a wonderful time roaming free in a big house with new toys and plenty of people to show off for. This morning Grandpa Allen was kind enough to take Liam for a little ride on one of the tractors since Liam is currently very into them. Liam was in awe and his older cousin, Ella, who wanted to tag along was terrified so I put her in the pickup which helped but when Grandpa came somewhat near the pickup you would have thought the girl was on a roller coaster ride the way she started screaming. The poor thing.







That night my Aunt Ruth's and Uncle Joe's families came to celebrate and we had our traditional appetizer dinner with a chocolate fountain for dessert. We also acted out the nativity and Liam actually wanted to participate. He was one of the many shepherds. Here he is chatting with the donkey to make sure he was doing ok.

Finger Paints

Liam got some finger paints from his friend for Christmas and he loved them. After one use they're basically gone but they kept his interest for over 30 minutes straight.

Gingerbread Houses

We went over to our friend's house and attempted to assemble gingerbread houses. After several tries to get Liam's standing up I threw in the hat and just had him decorate it flat. He had a great time and I've discovered that he's most into squeezing frosting all over everything.

Christmas Early

Grandma Quillen told us that Liam could open one of his gifts early. He was really into the unwrapping but when he saw it was a book which he really isn't into right now he tried to stick the paper back on the book so he could unwrap it again.

Christmas Cookies

I was making Michael's favorite Christmas cookies and Liam of course was more then happy to help out. When I finished I gave him the beater to lick, but apparently it wasn't enough since he then leaned over and stole an entire cookie's worth of dough. He's a sneaky one.




Then, when I turned around for a minute Liam decided to do this. When he accomplished this he started jumping up and down, clapping his hands, and squealing in delight. Can I just say I'm not proud of this accomplishment and I have come downstairs more then once to find him making new wonderful trouble.

Friends

Liam and his friend, Tyson, have not been getting along very well lately. Liam is usually taking what he wants and Tyson is constantly whining like he is in fear of his life when Liam even looks at him. However, if one of them does something that they're not supposed to they suddenly are the best of friends and laugh at everything. Here they are standing on the end tables screaming at each other which I guess is just hilarious.

Zoo Lights

We made our annual trip for the zoo lights and Liam LOVED it. Well, I guess I should specify, he loved the zoo train. When he saw the train he just started screaming and the twenty minutes we spent in line was spent with him saying "choo choo, train?" And us responding, "Yes Liam we're going to ride the choo choo train." As we got closer and we started zig zagging through the line Liam would just sob because he thought we were walking away from the train. When we finally got on Liam was in awe and so thrilled to be on the choo choo train.

Sacrament Meeting

This picture is to document what is practically a miracle. Liam made it all through sacrament meeting without having to be taken out nor was he ever even close to having to be taken out. Church was actually enjoyable today.

Liam Meets Santa

Michael and I thought it would be great for Liam to sit on Santa's lap. Apparently Liam thought Santa was better admired from afar.

As soon as we took Liam off his lap Liam started waving and blowing him kisses, but when Michael started walking towards him again Liam's grip quickly tightened.

Hanging Out

I was cleaning out my closet today when Liam discovered it was the perfect height for him to hang and push off the wall to swing.

Child Labor

I'd say we're for child labor in this household. Besides he doesn't seem to mind it. Don't you love he sticks that little tongue out when he's focusing, that's totally an Allen thing. Now only if we could get him to stop missing spots.

Byen

You may be thinking Liam is eating popcorn but according to him it's called "byen." He has a little obsession with it and asks for byen several times a day. My favorite is when he asks to have it for breakfast. He just can't get enough. And yes, he's trying to stick his foot in it too for some reason byen tastes better if you put your foot in the bowl.

Picture of day was taken by Liam. He figured out his daddy's phone has a camera and he was having a grand ole time snapping shots. He took quite a few and I think this was one of his better ones. Almost all of them were either of the light or the wall and totally out of focus.

Warm Blankies

I was unloading the dryer right after it shut off when Liam came up and saw his blankets. I handed it to him and he immediately said oohed and awed overthe warm cozy blanket and snuggled right up to it. Then, when he saw another blanket in the dryer and I handed it to him he immeidately was like oh hot hot and he started blowing on the blanket. I just thought it was cute to see how smart he was and understood the concept.

A Very Long Night

So, we were planning on staying at our friends' house for Thanksgiving until Saturday but plans changed around 3am Friday morning. Michael, Liam, and I were staying in the same room and Thursday night shortly after Michael and I went to bed Liam decided he wanted to be up. We tried everything to get the stinker to go back to sleep and I broke a lot of rules that I have to try and get this to happen. I gave him his sippee in bed, I gave him children's NyQuil, I let him sleep in our bed with us, we put a portable DVD player in his pac n play. Then he figured out how to get out of the pac n play since it was up against the futon so he was able to step up on it to get out. At this point it was probably about 2 pm and Michael decided to try and shower with Liam to see if it would just calm him down so he could sleep. It didn't work and Michael said to pack up and we were heading home. So at 3am we said our goodbyes to our friends and headed home. Here is the little stinker on the car ride home. That's right he slept the whole way home.

Happy Thanksgiving

This was the only picture that was taken on Thanksgiving Day. We spent Thanksgiving with one of Michael's old roommates' family, The Neils, and had a great time. Laura made a wonderful dinner and it was just a nice low key day.Here's Liam with Hayden just chilling.

Please let me in

While at my mom's house Liam was banned from the kitchen several times. Even though my mom has child locks on almost all of her cupboards, and drawers there are two lazy susans that aren't child locked and Liam managed to spill an entire container of cocoa and lemonade. We're talking large containers. He was also kind enough to roll around in the lemonade powder before I was able to clean it up. Ugghhh, I feel like I can't ever turn around with this boy.
Right before I snapped this picture he had scooted himself feet first underneath the gate clear to his head. He had even turned his head and laid completely flat trying to get under. However, he couldn't quite make it. He then tried screaming like that for a few moments and when he realized it wasn't going to get him any sympathy votes he retreated and just tried looking cute...that didn't work either.

Love Hate Relationship

Liam and I went to visit my sister in Tri-Cities for a couple of days followed by my mom and dad's house so I could get my family fix in since we weren't going to be there for Thanksgiving.
Here's a picture of Liam playing with his cousin Tanner. They were playing nicely at this moment but these two definitely have a love hate relationship. They are either giggling hysterically at each other or screaming and crying. I didn't take a picture of it but the night before at dinner they were sitting by each other and Liam kept touching Tanner because he discovered it would make Tanner totally freak out. So, I moved Liam to another seat where he couldn't touch Tanner. Then a few moments later, Tanner starts screaming again. I look over and Liam is just simply pointing at Tanner with his outstretched hand pretending that he's trying to touch Tanner just to drive the boy nuts. Can I just say that I'm so excited to have more children knowing that their big brother is already perfecting his skills to torment them.

A Little Blankie Obsession

There are nice things about Liam being attached to more then one blanket but there are also downfalls. The nice thing is if you are washing one or if they get worn out then you have replacements. The not so nice part for me is if he finds one in the laundry basket, in the drawer or anywhere in the house he must have it so his pile accumulates. Typically we let him have three for bed, one large blanket and two small blankets. obviously in these pictures he had been doing some recent hoarding.

The Joys of Forts

Today Michael and I made Liam a fort and he LOVED it! In fact I wonder if I'll ever be allowed to have the cushions on the couch again.
