Spray Paint

Ok, so for my first furniture painting experience I painted everything with a brush which was my dining room set. I was mostly pleased with the outcome but not so pleased with the amount of time that it took to paint everything.
So, this time around I decided to try spray painting and the verdict is I will avoid brushes at all costs. I loved the outcome of this little project and it was SO darn quick. Spray Paint might just become my new best friend.

Booster Part 2

So, when sitting with us at the regular table the booster is not ok, but if one sits at the kid table and the booster is not necessary it suddenly becomes a necessity.  Yes, many meals are eaten this way.

Booster

Remember the cute little booster I made Liam. Well, this is where Liam like to keep it. He sat on it for about a week then one day in the middle of dinner he climbed down shoved the booster off his seat and climbed back up and this has been his ritual ever since then. So, as cute as you are booster Liam is not impressed.

Hats

Michael and Liam had been playing upstairs when they came downstairs with these cute hats.

New Projects

I went to Goodwill the other day and totally scored some awesome finds. I got a dresser which I'm going to paing a bright green and put in my front room to store DVDs and Liam's books. I know, bright green sounds crazy but I feel like I need a pop of color in the room and I do have said green in my curtains. I figure if I hate it then I can always repaint it. I also found this cute table and chairs set. I've been looking for a set for a while and when I saw this was only $10 and it's so sturdy and in awesome condition I snatched it right up. I obviously need to paint it since it has Ariana and flowers painted across the top but Liam already LOVES it. He decided to eat both his lunch and dinner here and tried his hand in watercolors today while I made dinner.

The Park

We went to the park with our friends today and had a wonderful time. Liam was able to play on the playground(yes, it was wet but it wasn't raining while we were there), chase the ducks, and splash through some puddles. He was a very content and happy little boy.

Say Cheese

I was grating cheese for dinner and Liam was eating it during the process. Later while he was playing I noticed he missed a piece.

Don't worry, shortly after the picture was taken he noticed it and promptly ate it.

Cleaning Out the Couch

We had to cut open the bottom of our couch to dig out our remote that Liam had successfully shoved down. Little did we know what else he had shoved down their too. I have to admit I was a little annoyed when I found the sunblock stick. I'd spent a lot of time looking for it this past summer and then after a week of searching I finally caved and bought a new one. I knew it was in this darn house.

Phrases

Liam now knows two phrases. His vocabulary is constantly growing but to put words together into phrases and sentences hasn't really happened yet. However, the two phrases that he knows are, "What's that?" which he's been saying for quite some time and then the most recent one is "It's raining." I guess it just kind of struck me as funny and tells you just how much it has been raining lately. Uggghhh.....the rain started late this year and I think I forget until it really starts up just how much it does rain here in the winter and spring. I guess the countdown to July begins! Oh and when I go to take the picture I think this was the only time today that it was not raining.

Copters and Cake

Liam LOVES Michael's helicopter that he got for his birthday. This morning when we went to wake Michael up he climbed up on top of him and promptly started asking for the copter. So, here they are still in their PJs flying the beloved helicopter. Sadly, it had a pretty bad crash and is now out of comission. Hopefully we can revive the copter soon!



Also, today I finally made Michael's his birthday cake and I decided to put candles on it to give Liam a trial run for his birthday. I thought maybe he wouldn't get it. Wasn't I silly? He totally got the concept and we ended up lighting one of the candles three times so Liam could blow it out again.
Also, yes Liam did get dressed today it's just that I took these pictures right after and right before he went to bed. Yes, I'm a little lazy on Saturdays but typically not that lazy.

My Little Bug

Today while Liam and I were out shopping for new Sunday shoes we decided to have a little fun trying on glasses. Liam loved doing this far more then trying on shoes. I think he looks like a bug.

Coloring

Today my picture is courtesy of my good friend Kara. She watched Liam this morning for me and Tyson and Liam had fun coloring together on a giant piece of butcher paper.

Snow

Portland's version of snow. Amazingly no school was delayed or canceled.

Coming Home

We came home today and the flight went well except for the last 30 minutes when we were descending. We were again blessed with Liam screaming and I mean screaming at us that he wanted to go bye bye and he was all done. We know his ears were bothering him but even with drinking water he was still raging mad and ended up fall asleep on the floor at our feet since that's where he wanted to be and he did not want us touching him.
We ended the day with Michael opening his birthday presents and he's enjoyed this little helicopter that he got and was so proud of himself when he landed it on the banister.

Arizona

Okay I'm going to do the last week in one post since I'm needing to catch up.

Thursday
We traveled to Arizona and arrived in Mesa. Michael's Uncle Rod and Aunt Janeane were nice enough to let us stay with them. It was so cute when we got there because Liam kept looking at Aunt Janeane with a funny expression on his face. I felt like he was thinking you sound like grandma but you don't look quite right. The flight was okay except for the screaming child who kept telling us all done and bye bye since he wanted to get off the airplane.


Friday
We were able to spend the morning visiting with Michael's grandparents, Aunt Donalyn, and meeting his little cousin Liyla.


The evening was spent visiting with Michael's cousin Sharisse and meeting her little girl at Peter Piper's Pizza. Liam loved all the games he could play there and was quite good. He was even able to make several baskets when shooting hoops.



Saturday
We were able to enjoy a large family barbecue to celebrate Michael's, Uncle Rod's, and Grandpa Blau's birthdays. Liam was in heaven being able to spend the entire afternoon running around the backyard playing with the dogs, and managing to rub up against every plant in the entire backyard. (I think he regretted it since he was itching like crazy later that night.)
We ended the night by going out to dinner with Janet at Texas Roadhouse. Janet was also sneaky enough to make sure that the waiter knew that it was Michael's birthday so they sang to him and made him sit on the saddle. Sadly we did not get a picture of this.








Sunday
We were able to have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Blau and Aunt Donalyn's family. The picture of the day is of Liam's shoes since after I got his Sunday shoes on he pulled them off and gave me his regular shoes and refused to wear the Sunday shoes. I knew they were a little tight but I guess I just didn't realize just how tight they were.


Monday
First thing in the morning we wanted to get a picture of Liam on this ledge that Liam LOVED. He spent most of Saturday afternoon jumping off of this ledge and landing it. I'm just dumbfounded by his cordination since he definitely didn't get his ability from his mother.


We decided to go to a train park and to say that Liam was in heaven is definitely an understatement. I don't know if I'd ever seen the boy so happy. We saw the tongue a lot and he was so excited about the train when it pulled up he just started squealing in delight and when he got on the train he was completely mesmerized and practically tuned everything out around him. To make it even better were able to enjoy it with Janet, Alicia, Geneva, and their little girls.
