Ego surfing at its finest

I received an email today from an organization asking if I was on the job market. They had come across an old resume of mine and had Google'd my name to contact me and see if I was interested in applying for the position.

Back in the day (and still today), a Google of my maiden name turned up a whole lotta me and one or two small things from another chick in the Midwest.

Today? A Google of my married name includes an IMDB record for a smokin' hot (I presume) girl who posed for Playboy... and eventually a LinkedIn record for me. At the bottom of the page.

I wonder if the kind person who emailed me thinks we're the same person. Poor guy is about to be disappointed.

Cute old men say awesome things

Dear fellow bloggers...

Please don't add music to your blog. I know you like it and you think it expresses who you are and blah blah blah... but realize that not everyone does things serially. I usually open four or five blogs at once and read them through randomly. If there is music, it plays over everyone else's music... and I'm busted at work. Even if it's a 20-second read, I'm busted.

If you insist on music-ing your blog, I will curse you every time I open it. And I'll get faster at the mute button.

love, nicole

Stupid tag

Blame Tiffany. And the fact that my brain is too tired to think of any original content. But instead of eight favorites, we're cutting it to four.

4 T.V. Shows I love to watch:
  1. Veronica Mars. I love me some Kristen Bell and really hope the movie rumors are true. Yes, I know the show was canceled. It's still my favorite.
  2. House. Hugh Laurie; enough said.
  3. Law & Order: SVU. Mariska Hargitay; enough said.
  4. Battlestar Galactica. Seriously; if you haven't seen this, you should.

4 things that happened yesterday:
  1. Disneyland!
  2. Getting soaked - not wet, soaked - at every water ride possible. Then freezing. Then drying out. Rinse and repeat. Poor Ian and Leslie, I'm sure they blame me for the final wet ride on Splash Mountain.
  3. Seeing fireworks over Disneyland.
  4. Driving home.

4 favorite places to eat. I looove eating out.
  1. Cafe Poca Cosa. I am a die hard about this place, which is amazing, considering they change their menu 3 times a day, thereby not allowing this type-A personality to stick to a favorite dish.
  2. Bamboo Club. The orange chicken is delish, but their service is either great or crappy.
  3. Firebirds. I love their chicken, ranch rings, and steak... but most of all, the ambience. It looks and feels like a ski lodge restaurant with a big fireplace and exposed wooden beams.
  4. Fast food. Quick and easy food is awesome: Wendys (spicy chicken), Arby's (chicken salad sammich), Taco Bell (baja chicken chalupa)... Unfortunately, this stuff isn't good for my girlish figure, so I'm trying to cut back. Lean Cuisine, anyone?

4 things I am looking forward to:
  1. Getting a real job.
  2. Christmas in Utah and showing off Temple Square lights to Xav.
  3. Finding a beach somewhere, so I can sit and read and not stress.
  4. Starting a family someday.
4 things on my wish list:
  1. Winning the lottery.
  2. Great job.
  3. Happy family.
  4. Time management skills - so I can find ways to be a great wife, mother, friend, and colleague. All at once. I might need to change this to "learn to juggle."

A case of the Mondays...

After the longest day of Disneyland ever, my feet are sore, my lower back hates me, and I am tired. Xav and I finally pulled into our driveway at 8:00a - just in time for me to shower and rush into work.

The good news: I was in such a hurry this morning I left my blanket in the car, which is coming in handy in today's frigid office. I am currently cuddled up at my computer in my awesome fleece blanket.

To all of my well-meaning LDS friends

Amy put it best, so I'll just point you here.

I love you all and am very thankful for your friendship. I know this doesn't apply to most of you - especially those of you that have actually met my husband and have talked to him for more than 5 minutes - but for some reason, I feel that I should post this.

Happy Thursday, everyone. We're off to Anaheim for the weekend for Blizzcon and Disneyland. :)
