Ut trip and Paul's Birthday

We had a great weekend with our UT family! Starting off the trip with a fun 5k run where Paul rocked! He placed 2nd in his age division and 22nd overall! Erik and I walked it but sprinted the last straight away and beat Aunt Jamie, finishing 5th in my age division. We all had a great time!
Then we took a dip in Grandma JuLee's pool!

We were all a little shocked at the chill in the water. But in this picture Jillian doesn't seem to mind.

Erik LOVED the pool and trying out his new goggles and squirter. He dunked himself and gave us all a bit of a scare when he went completely under. But he was fine and kept swimming. :)

We played hard on Sat, ending the night with a drive in movie. This is Erik's sleeping position Sunday morning. I guess sleeping in the closet is more comfortable than the bed. :)

Paul requested German Chocolate cake. This was my first time making this kind of cake and it turned out great! and so yummy!

Then we came home and celebrated on his actual birthday!

Erik and I have been learning about letters and today was the letter "K"

so we made crowns for the Kings in our family.

We went swimming again that night then had cake, leftovers.

Erik, again, dunked himself in the pool. He had been jumping into the water to me and I would catch him. I stopped a min to rub my eyes and he jumped. I opened my eyes and saw him at the bottom of the pool. We were both really surprised but ok.

We had a wonderful weekend and loved celebrating Paul's birthday!

A Happy Father's Day!

We started out this Father's Day with gifts for our wonderful daddy and breakfast in bed.

A photo mug, with pictures of the kids on it and Erik made a "My Dad Rock" frame in primary. Paul really loved that!
Paul spent some great time with the kids, he even tried dressing Jillian himself, BIG mistake. :)That goes over her diaper, not on her head! Silly daddy.

We had a family dinner over at my parents and gave my dad a "best of Cosby" DVD. He loved it! My brothers look pretty serious in this picture, maybe they wish THEY were opening presents :)

What better way to end the day than falling asleep with your boy.

We love you Daddy! Thanks for working hard to provide for us and spending lots of time having fun and serving us. You're wonderful!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Attempt to catch up

Here are lots of pictures over the past few weeks, maybe a whole month :)

My sister made this beautiful bed set for Jillian so we took a few pictures of her modeling it. And in this one I caught a smile! She LOVES to smile! The more you tell her she's cute, the more she'll smile at you. It's adorable, we all love it!

Paul caught this one of her sucking her thumb. She doesn't really do this much or for very long so this was a rare shot.

Jillian is 2 months old now, she weighed in at 11lbs 4oz and 22in long. Putting her in the 50%. This is very different from Erik, he was always in the 90% or above. But we love our petite little girl.


Erik decided to read his Highlight magazine to Jillian. He looks like a teacher, showing her the pictures, so cute! Erik LOVES to read! And he can read some books entirely by himself. He recognizes lots of sight words and has a great memory to memorize some books. He amazes us each day with words he can read!

Actually this is designed to help her hair grow UP like Marge Simpson, now we just need to dye it blue to complete the look.

" That pocket is so huge, it could hold a baby!"

That's what I said the first time I saw this sweatshirt, so that's what we've done with it. Erik has also been 'stuffed' into this pocket.

They both love kissing and holding her, it's very sweet.

I'm surprised Jillian looks like she's smiling in this picture because she does not look comfortable.


These next pictures are from May 1st, the day Jillian was blessed in church. However, we didn't get any of her in her blessing dress this day, yeah forgot the camera, grrr.

But we caught a shot of her smile.

We LOVED having all of our family there to support us and celebrate Jillian's birth and blessing! Thanks to all those who traveled a long way to come see us! We love you!

We had a lot of fun with family,

Aunt Laurie painted a sister missionary.

Aunt Roni was thinking of the tropics and painted a Palm tree.

I, apparently, was thinking of a mountain scene and a cabin near a stream. We just let our creative juices flow. We noticed that the girls painted more than ate, and the boys ate more than painted. But in the end we all ate our works of art.

Erik loved it, just had to get used to licking the pudding off his fingers. At first he kept asking for a napkin.

But later her got into it and got nice and dirty.

Well that's what we've been up to lately. I think I have a new goal to update weekly or at least twice a month so there isn't so much to post at once.
