Puppy Love...

The Poulson family welcomed 10 puppies to their home! Everyone is welcome to come by and see them if they want...please call first so we don't miss you. We would LOVE to keep some of our puppies in the ward, that way we could see them and know how they are doing.

When I Fall in Love...

February 13th was a Valentine's treat for the wives of the High Priests! A dinner and short program were on the agenda for the evening.

The men prepared all the food, and because it was judged by a panel of 6, some serious food was had!!! There were appetizers, salads, main dishes, side dishes, and dessert. There was a winner in each category: appetizer-Tony Horsely, salad-Keith Lever, main dish-Tony Horsley, side dish-Dave Bennett, and dessert-Bishop Peterson. A grand prize was awarded for the top dish. And the winner was......Tony Horsley!!! He was the winner of the coveted "Golden Ladle"!



After the delicious dinner we were serenaded by a quartet, including, James Hilton, Keith Lever, Paul Furse, and Lyman Moulton. They sang beautifully, "When I Fall in Love." Afterward, Jim Kearney shared some Valentine poems. It was a fun and very enjoyable evening. Thanks to all who worked and planned this activity.

Voting for the finals in the Mormon Times contest started Feb 16th. There are 12 finalist - Me of course, Brandon Osmond (Donny's son), Due West, Shaun Barrows, Ryan Innes, Aaron Southerland, Maati Maile, Nicole Sheahan, Maxine Soakai, Poli Hala, Truman and Barry Hansen. Every artist is very talented, so the competition is pretty strong. Voting will continue for 2 weeks and the top 6 continue on to the final round of voting which runs March 3 - March 10th. The top 6 contestants will perform at a concert at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo on March 19th and the winner recieves $5000. Tickets for that event are on sale now, but I have no idea who will be performing. They will not be showing a tally of the votes, the finalists will be announced on the final day of voting. I guess that's good for me, I won't feel like a total loser when I only have 5 votes, no one will even know! I would love to make it to the final round and be able to perform at the concert, but we will see what happens. This has been a great opportunity to share my music with a wider audience, and it's provided some great publicity. Eagle Court of Honor & Awards

January 25th was a busy day for Troop 1759. It was an Eagle Court of Honor for Dean Furse and also a number of awards were handed out to the troop. Nathan Reeve received his Gold Eagle Palm; Mac Hedman-Life rank; Garrick Poulson and Josh Margetts-Star rank and Tanner Harrison-1st Class rank.


Dean's Court of Honor celebrated by having a "Roast". There were some very touching moments and also some hilarious moments.


One of the highlights was having Dean's father Paul, present him with his Eagle Scout Award. A very close 2nd was Dean's Dorkeoraptor Patrol Yell...which Roger helped him share with the audience. It's not something anyone will soon forget. Thanks Dean!
