Christmas Morning Presents!!

The boys did get some surprises Christmas morning. Quin made a stocking at preschool with cut out pictures on it showing what he wanted for Christmas, and every single picture was of a Bakugan. So needless to say he was excited to get some Bakugans on Christmas morning.

Kale was surprised and excited over his new BYU bike. Man has he ever become a BYU fan. He even got to go to the bowl game with Kevin in Vegas. They had a great time, especially getting autographs on the field after the game.


Weston was just excited and surprised by every present. OH the joy of having a little one that get excited over everything.

After all the Christmas Eve family parties we went home to our house and got ready for Santa and bed. We made some cookies and spread magic reindeer dust in the yard. At school Kale had written a letter to Santa and he wrote back. He said that the elves like cookies or anything sweet and that all the reindeer like carrots except Dasher likes celery, and that he like hot chocolate. So that is what we left by the fireplace. As you can see Kale labeled all the treats. They were very excited!!

Abbott Family Christmas Eve Party

Weston was a shepard for the Nativity. He LOVES LOVES his blankie. And one thing he loves is to either have it wrapped around his neck like a scarf or sticking it in his ear. So for his shepard costume we tied it around his head. Isn't that what Linus does in the Charlie Brown Christmas? Hadn't remembered that till just now. He looked really cute but it kept slipping off cause his blankie is so silky.

These are all from the traditional Abbott Family Christmas Eve Dinner. We had a great dinner played games and preformed the nativity. The cousins all got to open one present which was PJ's. Kevin thought it would be fun to get Quin some footed PJs, I just wasn't sure if he would like them, it's a struggle just to get him to wear socks. Well needless to say he was not excited about them when he opened them. But I think that had more to do with the fact that Kale said, "no Quin those are Westons." I guess he didn't know either that they made footed PJs in 5T. But after a little pouting we convinced him he just had to put them on for the picture. But once he got them on and everyone praised him, he loved them and still does. In fact he wore them all that night and all Christmas day. And just the other night he was so happy when he got Weston dressed in his footed PJs all by himself so they could match.

LaPray Family Christmas Eve Breakfast

It's been a great year with three new LaPray babies. Renee had a cute baby boy named William and Seth had a little girl named Gwen and not pictured is Tate's new baby boy named Fischer. So fun to have so many cousins, glad we can live close by them.


Weston got a new shopping cart from G-Ma and Pa which he loved once he realized that the bow wasn't the only fun part of the present.
The kids bingo had cash prizes this year and the kids thought it was so great!!!

We ended up doing a Christmas Eve breakfast for the LaPray family get together. Of course it was a great time, with tons of food, Bingo and presents from Grandma and Grandpa and cousins.

Quin and Weston

Do you ever have those days that your kids are just being so dang cute and playing great together. This was one of those days. Kale had gone to a birthday party earlier and gotten this hat and gold medal, and Weston just fell in love with them. So one morning while I was cleaning up the kitchen, Quin was being a great big brother and pulling Weston all over the house in the John Deer tractor and wagon. Weston insisted on wearing the hat and medal the whole time. The hat kept falling off and he would climb out and get it and put it back on. They were being so cute. Weston was just laughing with joy as he was being pulled around. This picture also captures Weston new trick of saying "cheese" when we get the camera out. But as you can see when he says "cheese" he also lifts his chin straight up. Not sure where he got that from but he does it in a lot of pictures.

Family Christmas Pictures

On Dec 16th I decided that we needed to send a Christmas card even if it was only to a few people. So after church we took some pictures in front of the fireplace. Then on Monday night we went up to Temple Square in Salt Lake and took some more. So we ended up actually sending a few Christmas cards the week of Christmas. Sorry if you were not one of the select few that got a last minute card. Maybe next year I will do better and actually get them sent to the whole list.

This is the boys putting together the Christmas tree. It was cute cause the tree comes in four sections that were small, medium,large and extra large. So the boys thought it was so fun that they each had a section just their size.

Catch Up 2009!!

So as we said last night we are trying to make a come back into the blogging world. We were without a camera for a while, which justified not blogging. Then life just happens and I couldn't decide if I should just start from today or go back and try to catch up. Well here is my attempt at a catch up.

This is a day last fall when the boys had school off, so I thought it would be fun to take them to hike the Y. It was tougher than I remembered but the boys did great. The only time I questioned doing it was when Quin fell and hurt his knee so for a while I was carrying Quin in the front and Weston on my back. Luckily that didn't last too long.

No treats for you!

So we have not made a blog entry in forever, so this is our comeback. It's Monday, January 25th. We are having FHE, and I made no-bake cookies for our treat, and put them out on our deck to cool. Meanwhile, Kevin did the activity, whichhe said was a re-creation of the old Pepsi Hot Shot contest from grade school (anyone remember that?), done on our little plastic basketball hoop. The boys thought the activity was great, and then we went to get the cookies, and the cookie sheet was empty. A neighborhood dog must have jumped up on the deck (the gate was left open) and ate a whole batch of cookies. This literally just happened like 10 minutes ago. Somewhere there is a dog that is very sick. I'm now making another batch.
