There's only one place where you can get that much partying in at once: Disneyland! We decided to celebrate our birthdays with 3 fun-filled days at Disneyland and California Adventure and it was a blast.
We got to the Jedi Training Academy early (the kids were willing to sit and wait for almost 45 minutes!) and it was worth the wait when all 3 big kids got picked to participate.
Nate was the littlest guy on stage and took his job as a Jedi trainee very seriously so he got some special attention. It also helps when your position on stage is dead center.
Nate got to face off with Darth Vader.
Brenna took on Darth Maul.
As did Ava.
We tried some new things this trip, including the riverboat.
Nate and Ava met Tiana. Naturally Brenna refused to be involved.
Ava loved Pluto!
Goofy lived up to his name.
Gwen loved playing in the toddler play zone, although she actually escaped at one point. Bad mommy that I am, I was trying to watch 4 kids at once and lost track of the most unpredictable one. A very nice lady saw Gwen leaving unaccompanied and chased her down. She was already bringing Gwen back by the time I realized she was missing, bless that woman's soul. I only had about 60 seconds of sheer panic.
Other new things we tried and loved: Tom Sawyer's Island, Fantasmic, and the Roaring Rapids ride at California Adventure:
At the Toy Story 3D ride at California Adventure.
Nate loved the green army guy best of all!
The kids were exhausted after two days of adventure.
We should have called it quits at that point, but we went in for a 3rd day, which ended after only a couple of hours after I puked in the bushes due to a yucky stomach virus. There's nothing so lovely as public vomiting. Even though we had to cut the trip short it was overall a fabulous time.
