28 Weeks and Counting

Yesterday we had a check-up for Miss Morgan and everything was great! She was measuring right on schedule...actually a little ahead of schedule. I was supposed to measure 27 weeks and 5 days but actually measured 28 weeks and 2 days. They bumped up the due date four days from Jan. 24th to Jan. 20th.. but it could still be either way. It's pretty common to go back and forth depending on the size of the baby. Morgan had gained two whole pounds!! She now weighs 2 pounds and 11 ounces. She looked healthy as could be while she sucked her fingers during the sonogram.

They did a 3D sonogram so we could see definite features and it was so neat! I used to be scared of 3D sonograms because I thought the babies looked kind of scary...but now seeing my own little angel I am obsessed with them. As of right now Morgan looks like a blend of her aunt and uncle. She has Matt's nose and Beth's heart-shaped lips. In one picture her nose looked a little turned up like Taylor's. I can't wait to see her in person!!

Morgan is still breech so we're hoping she turns around in the near future. It's still early and she has plenty of time to flip but we just want her to do that before she is ready to be born. It is very surreal to think that we only have a short time left before Morgan is here in our arms and I cannot believe it! I only feel like it's going to fly by faster and faster the closer the holidays get. Taylor is more than ready to hold his baby girl. He mentioned the other night that feeling her move in my tummy was just not as cool anymore because he's ready to hold her for real. I thought that was sweet!

Last night as I drove home from sewing lessons I listened to the song "Praise the King" and cried because I am so thankful for God's love He has shown us. Taylor and I have been so blessed and loved every minute of these 27 weeks with our baby girl. I haven't even seen her, held her, kissed her, or talked to her in person but she is already the center of our world right now. It's all Taylor and I can talk about because we're so excited. Our TX friends

These are our friends Jenni and Eric Stupka. Jenni and I taught together at Pecan Park Elementary. Eric went to medical school and did his internal medicine residency at UMC. They moved to Texas this year so Eric could do his fellowship. We really miss them!! Most of all we miss seeing their sweet little girl Olivia. We didn't get to see her much before they moved away. Jenni sent me these recent pictures of Olivia's trip to the pumpkin patch. As you can see she is a beautiful little girl! I think she has the most absolute beautiful eyes! We miss you Stupka's!!!

MSU

Last weekend we went up to Starkville to watch MSU vs Vandy. It was a pretty big game because Vandy was undefeated. However, MSU put a stop to that. We got to see a lot of our friends we haven't seen in a while. Taylor was a happy camper after this game; however, momma's feet were a little swolen after a long day of walking!

Morgan Is Thirsty

Well here's a little update on Miss Morgan and me. I've started having a few Braxton Hicks contractions. They're not painful at all just a little uncomfortable. I started writing down the times I would have them just in case. Yesterday I had two and today I've already had one so I thought it would be smart to call the doctor. Plus my sister and mom weren't going to let me not call the doctor. To sum it all up I'm not drinking enough and dehydrated and that can bring on these contractions. The nurse explained that pregnant woman need a lot of water to help their muscles with all of the growing and stretching that goes on. So pretty much I have to drink a TON of water during the day and take warm baths at night to help relax the muscles. I'm not too alarmed by all of this because apparently this is pretty common. However, the doctor is obviously not too happy I'm having them this early. Hopefully if I drink the water and make myself not go 90 to nothing all the time that should take care of it. If I have more than 3 in a day or if they start happening closer together then I have to go in and get monitored to make sure everything is ok. I do kind of feel like a bad mom already though..my poor Morgan is trying to tell me she's thirsty! Sorry Morgan!!

I miss my girls!

I went to watch Olde Towne Middle School and Ridgeland High School play football last week. I wanted to see all of the people I miss from OTMS and also to watch my old cheerleading squad. I miss my girls!! They seem so grown up now even though they're only a year older. Two of my girls were on the RHS homecoming court. So cute! I love each one of them and miss hanging out with them. They definitely kept me "up to date" on everything going on.

Betty Crocker

My sister Beth has become Betty Crocker. She literally bakes something new each week almost. I love this because she brings it to the office for us to try and I'm always up for that! Her latest attempt at baking was iced sugar cookies which were DELICIOUS!! I thought her decorating was really cute. I'm ready for her to make some more....yumm!!

Oxford

Taylor and I went up to watch Ole Miss and Vanderbilt play a few weekends ago. We were excited to see a lot of people we haven't seen in a long time. Unfortunately, Ole Miss lost but it was still a fun day.

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY!

I'm a little late posting these pictures..sorry! Dr. Phil and John (Taylor's dad and youngest brother) celebrated their birthdays on September 25th. They came down for the day on Saturday and hung out with us. The boys played golf that morning while the girls shopped. Then we all cooked out and watched the football games. It was a fun day! We love yall!

Morgan Is Looking Good

I had a check-up with my doctor this morning and got good news! First, I had to take the test for gestational diabetes. For those of you wondering why..they make all pregnant women be tested. You have to drink this mixture of pretty much sugar water in about 5 minutes. It honestly doesn't taste that bad it was just hard to guzzle down that much so early in the morning. It's basically like drinking a can Sprite that's been watered down in 5 minutes. Then they test your blood an hour later and I passed! So I can resume eating my bite snize Snickers at work.. yay!! Other than that I got a good report with everything else. I go back in 4 weeks and they'll do my 3-D sonogram which I'm pretty excited about!
On a side note, please keep my doctor in your prayers. He was attending a convention in Dallas last week and long story short pretty much shattered his ankle. He had to fly home that night so he could have surgery the next morning. He and his wife also have six children...with two of those being newborn twins! So you can imagine the chaos they have in their house right now. I didn't get to see him today but I got to meet his partner which I was happy about. It's nice to know that if for some reason my doctor couldn't deliver Morgan, I really liked his partner and would be comfortable having him deliver her.
