Fall Fun

We went to the Western Heritage Center's Fall Festival yesterday. But firstly, it was HOT and not at all fall-like. And secondly, it was not that, uh, fun, for some of us.Kate cried a lot of the time for pretty much no reason. She didn't want to ride the train but cried because mommy and Carter did. Then she cried at the hay jump and maze. Why? No one knows.
Here's Carter jumping off the big stack of hay (he's the one on the far left). He didn't want to do it at first but I was like, "C'mon boy! Kids for hundreds of years have entertained themselves by jumping off hay bales." And then he did it. And he had fun.
While Kate spent most of the day crying, Carter spent a lot of the day plugging his ears because the threshing machine was loud, the train horn was loud, etc. We have some adventurous kids I tell ya. No pansies here - nope.
"Hey, did that mommy duck just peck my hand when I tried to pet her baby?" Why yes little lady she did.
If we could get both of them to smile at the same time that would be great. Well, actually if we could get either of them to smile that would be great.

We actually did have a fun day. Really we did. We just didn't get any pictures of that part....

Two Thumbs...

or toes way, way up!

This one's for you, Ralphie. If I didn't actually push her out I may be a little concerned about who her mother is. Maybe we have just been friends for so long that she inherited it from you...

For everyone who is confused by this, click here and scroll to the bottom. I only associate with uber-talented people. Just so ya know.

Summer's End

I love September. The weather has just been beautiful but not too hot. So nice. My favorite time of year! These are some pictures of the kids up the canyon at my sister-in-law's family cabin.

Check out the red cheeks in this picture though. River Heights had a little parade that we went to and it was more than a little toasty. Poor Kate was way over dressed but when I dressed her in the morning it was so cold! Anyway, it was a cute little parade and we collected about 10 lbs of candy - no exaggeration.

Kate is doing really well in the potty department. We've been having a little trouble in the poopy-goes-in-the-toilet-not-in-the-undies but other than that I would say she is doing great. And maybe this is T.M.I. but she actually went poopies in the toilet today without partially messing in her pants first. A major breakthrough!
