How to watch La Liga in Japan

DAZN Japan has retained non-exclusive LaLiga rights in Japan from 2023 to 2028 following a five-year renewal deal. The subscription-based OTT (over-the-top) provider has held streaming LaLiga rights in Japan since 2017. Fans in Japan can stream all 380 games on DAZN’s platform live and on-demand, with matches shown in HD after subscribing to either the “DAZN STANDARD” or the “DAZN GLOBAL” package.

Bonus features on DAZN’s platform includes game highlights, match analysis, and special football shows, including LaLiga World.

Devices compatible with DAZN Japan include: mobiles and tablets (both iOS and Android), smart TVs (Samsung, LG, Android TV, Panasonic, Sony, Philips), streaming devices (Google Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV stick), PCs, Macs, and gaming devices (Xbox and PlayStation).

U-Next has acquired non-exclusive digital LaLiga rights in Japan from 2023 to 2028. The streaming provider takes over from Wowow, who held domestic media rights to LaLiga for two decades. As per its contract with LaLiga, which covers the 2023-24 to 2027-28 seasons, U-NEXT streams all 380 matches per season, both live and on-demand on mobiles, tablets, smart TVs, computers, and select gaming consoles.

To stream LaLiga matches, subscribers in Japan can either select the “U-Next Soccer Pack” as a standalone pack or add it to their current plans for an additional fee.
