Lynn D. "Jake" Jacobson 1951 ~ 2010 Lynn D. Jacobson, Jr., 58, died at home unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was born on October 29, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lynn and Jone Jacobson. Lynn married Margo Larson in 1970 and they were blessed with three children, Jenny, Sam and Dan. They divorced in 2006. Lynn married Theresa Enyedi, Sept. 1, 2007; they were separated at the time of his death. Lynn was a lifelong Utes fan, and enjoyed attending U of U football games. He was an entrepreneur and his own boss for 37 years as the owner of an insurance agency and then a medical practice management firm. Lynn is survived by his wife, Theresa; his children, Jenny, Sam (Heidi), Dan (Cassie) and six grandchildren, Karlee, Katie, Kortney, Andrew, Carter and Abby. His parents, and his beloved St. Bernard, Fritz, precede him in death. A viewing will be held for family and friends on Monday, August 30 at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment at Lake Hills Memorial Cemetery, Sandy, Ut.(above is the obituary, which we could add his sister Terri to, now that we have found her).
We attended that yesterday (the memorial) and today is the service. A lot of people came to the viewing, people he worked with, old friends from alpine and some family. it was very neat that we got to see his sister Terri, i have never met her. there was a falling out like 17 or 13 yrs ago or something, and nobody has seen or heard from her since. so that was nice, she is the only living member of her family, so we are hoping to get to know her. she was really nice, and its sad, she has lived in salt lake the last 5 or 6 yrs, but we didn't know where she was, or how to get ahold of her. Anyways, so its been a little bit of a stressful time around here. i think its hard to andrew too, he had a good relationship with his grandpa, and i read that kids deal with this sort of thing by being overly fussy/whiney when they are little, and that definitely seems to be the case. since yesterday when we explained what was going on as best as we could to a 3 yr old, and since the viewing and all, he's seemed more upset and he just has a shorter fuse than normal (which normally is pretty short, but its worse). so i am looking forward to saying our goodbyes today, and this weekend we will go up to midway for swiss days. i think we are all ready for a little time to relax. cleaning out the house, and taking care of all the affairs has been a big job. I think what I will take from Lynn's life is that he was a great provider for his family, and provided them with a good home and stable environment to grow up in, which allowed dan to become the wonderful man he is. i will always be grateful for the good things his father taught him that helped him become who he is. and i will always be thankful he decided to bring dan into the world;) it has definitely blessed my life. on the other side of things, i will remember what losing the gospel and making poor decisions in life will bring. unhappiness, misery and hopelessness. its a very tragic way to end his life. luckily, our Heavenly Father has a perfect knowledge of his heart, and everything will be according to His will. I just feel very unsettled right now. kind of sick to my stomach. in alaska, it didnt hit me as much because i was so far away from it all. but being at the viewing and the house its sinking in. and it makes me really sad, because i dont know exactly how things will turn out for lynn. but theres nothing i can do about that. he had his agency, as we all do. Well, I'm going to leave now. I hope Lynn finds happiness and peace where he is now.
