Today, teacher put forward a daring suggestion which really made me stunned. I was not really ready for an answer but it’s a path paved for me. It’s only whether I had the guts to take the first step out and commit my time to my investment. It never really occurs to me that I would climb this high, but success doesn’t comes that early, pitfall and potholes are often obstacles to block my way…

New Year, New Beginning
31st December 2008 – 1st January 2009
I enjoyed myself at my cousin’s 21st. She had a big bungalow at Pasir Ris Park and invited us over. Her friends were so thoughtful to handmade her birthday card…. It must be so memorable. Her friends even bought a Polaroid camera and did scrapbooking there and then. Late in the night, I went to Summer Breeze at the park and saw a sparkle of fireworks. Mum and I together with bro and aunt went cycling in the park.
The next day, we saw ponies and smell horse dung….
We explored the park and tried to fly a kite, but the atmosphere was stale with no breeze at all, what a disappointment!!! We had lunch, played blokus and volleyball, after which we tried our luck again, still no wind, but we ended up being caught in the rain…We seek shelter at a pavilion where mum met her classmate and chatted for a while, after the drizzle, my bro and I tried our luck again, still the kite couldn’t fly high…. At night, it was BBQ, we chatted while gathering around the pit to grill the food. The food was nice and the chicken wings were grilled to perfection by my uncle.

I was shopping at J8 when I noticed a plump girl gulping down 1.5 liters of PoXXX Peach Tea by the bench…. Gosh, how unsightly, I thought to myself as I saw her drinking. Her eyes caught mine and she felt a little embarrassed, while I turned away to continue my shopping. How many tablespoons of sugar did she consume from that mouthful of peach tea? I really wondered….

Today is the 1st lesson of the New Year. The first half of the lesson was quite impressive but turned out awful after that. Teacher had a long talk with me about my music and my life. It was then that I realized I should do better in music. Somehow, her words woke me up and gave me a strong push, but I wondered if I ever push myself that hard (till I’m at the verge)…. Anyway, I should be proud of myself for coming this far; I must admit I’m slow like the tortoise but ultimately, I MUST persevere to the very end.
