Recollections

Last weekend had been a very fulfilling and busy one, every single minute was well-spent and I had lots of fun catching up with friends that disappeared from my life for eons….

Friday
It was movie day and I decided to spend some quality with myself, hiding in the cinema for a movie. When I decided on the movie, the movie review wasn’t that good, but I went ahead with it, hoping that it will be a surprise for me! I bought my ticket and requested for an aisle seat as I wanted no one to be on my left and right. When I got into the cinema, I spotted an old man next to my seat, I froze for a few seconds before taking my seat. Deep in my heart, I was cursing and swearing at the cinema staff who sold that seat to the old man, the cinema is so huge, why must she sell a seat that is just next to me???? I learnt my lesson this time, in order to get a seat of my OWN, I can only buy my tickets 5 min before the screening of the movie!

Saturday
I attended my ex-employer wedding dinner which was at Bugis and it is near the F1 racing circuit. The zooming sounds from the vehicles could still be heard, except that it sounded a little like the buzzing of the bee. I met up with a lot of people from the industry and did some networking, hoping that they would grant my concessions if I ever made any purchases with them…. I saw princess Jade with her mummy and everyone was dressed to their nines.

Sunday
I was so pissed off by JW who always forgets to bring things despite repeated reminderS; I could feel my blood pressure rising up to my face that my ears grew red with anger…. Nevertheless, it was Kio’s belated birthday celebration with the villagers. We had a kite-flying session at the open field though the weather was not windy at all, and of course, there was a slight resemblence of the filipino maids....

Monday
I'm so looking forward to this 4-days workweek! Yippeeee

Recollections

Has been losing my temper at work lately, mainly it's because the people I faced aren't sensible enough, and they're such a real pain.... I wonder if that's detrimental to my body and all these experiences are making me and my life sad....

Volunteered my service for the mooncake making session at Paya Lebar GRC area, together with students from NUSCSC, we made 10,000 mini snowskin mooncakes for 10 beneficiaries which are all old folks home! It was an eye-opener for me and I enjoyed it very much!

Attended Baby Ashley's birthday party on saturday, and she was throwing tantrums the whole night, claiming that nobody wanted to play with her. She didn't wanted to cut her birthday cake and her Baby Pooh soft toy cut the cake on her behalf!

Confessions of a consumer

Some years back, I purchased a brand new printer after some serious considerations and market research. The ink head is always changed with the new ink cartridge, which is one of the functions that I liked. Till today, my printer malfunctioned, it couldn't be switched on and yet I had a surplus storage of brand new ink cartridges. I called the service centre and talked to a person whom doesn't sound like a local, I explained the problem to him and he reverted a solution which made me dumbfounded, I was actually asked to DISPOSE the unit or to trade-in for a brand new unit at a lower price. They said they do not repair this particular model of mine as they had no spare parts left.

A few days later, I racked my brain trying to think of better solutions rather that the one that he proposed, I surfed their company website and to my surprise, they still have my model on their website, which means they are still selling it!!! It is just unbelievable, I just wanted to get my unit repaired and yet they have no spare parts but still sell this model on the world wide web. I was devastated....

Just now, I made another call to the customer service centre and re-told my story again, to make sure that they have gave the most appropriate advice. A lady whom had a strange accent, and I also reckoned she's not a local attended to me. Curious, I deliberately asked for a Chinese speaking operator, she actually said something like the call was traced out of Singapore and there is NO Chinese speaking operator!!! Ok fine!!! I told her my problem again, she also said the same to me, to dispose and trade in a brand new unit. I questioned her, that the company is still selling this unit, how come they don't have a spare part for repair. She replied subtly that they don't actually provide repair service to MY printer model! I retorted and asked, do they actually PROVIDE any printer repair, she said yes! but not for my model. I was so angry and hung up on her.

My printer was quite new with little usage only! And yet it's now being obsolete! I can't do anything to revive my printer because I still have lots of surplus new ink cartridges, it's really disheartening!

IT Frenzy

Today was the 2nd time I headed to Comex 2010 at Suntec, I was there on friday afternoon to recce the IT stuff. Today, when I reached there in the late afternoon, a phenomenon greeted me... People actually had to queued up with their bulky purchase in order to take the lift down to the ground floor, it's just a sight!!! A lot of people are buying electronic gadgets like LED TV, printers, laptops which is just cash and carry!!! I pampered myself with a 16GB mp4 music player from Creative....

September Superb!

Just had a day of break yesterday and the big break is coming soon. I'm just looking forward to the break next week and the upcoming wedding, birthday celebrations and F1 race....
