Thanksgiving 2010

We went to Amber's house in Eagar this year for Thanksgiving. It was nice to get away from all the stress we have been having. We were all there except for 3 of Bobbie's kids. Someday we will all be together again.  I hate divorce. This is our yearly sister's picture.

This year we also had 2 of my cousins, Stacie and Kelly and her cute family. It was nice to see them. I haven't seen them for so many years. This is Krissy's sexy look. haha

 It reminded me that family is so important. I am happy that I get to be closer to my sisters soon.

Mom is such a shorty. Krissy is hiding because she is pregnant and doesn't want to be seen. Notice Ginger's shirt. She never matches the group when we take pictures. She is such a rebel.

On the way home it started snowing. Then it really started to snow. Doug needed to pee so he got out just as it started to come down after the Quemado turn. We start driving (very slowly) for about 45 min. I notice that Doug's new IPhone 4 for work (very expensive) is not in the truck. He realizes it must have fallen out when he got out to pee way back 45 min ago. We turn around and tried to figure out where we had stopped. We work together as a family to find the spot we believed it to be. We all add a very different recolection of the drive. One say a gate, another a barn. We found what we thought was it and it is now covered in snow! It is so cold and the wind is very strong. We (mostly Doug and Derrik) get out and start digging. There is no phone signal so I can't call it to get it to ring. He digs for 15- 20 minutes when Sadie remembers that we should pray to find it. Us girls were in the truck now and Sadie says a prayer. Doug decided to kick one last time in the snow and then he would leave and that phone just popped out. It had been face down and the cover protected it from getting wet. It was an eventful 5 hour drive home. I sure love the power of prayer.

Katie and Kamryn

 These too  are too peas in a pod. Every time I turn around they are in the neighborhood making money. They decided to rake leaves and charge $2 a bag. We are not use to leaves coming from Gilbert. Not much of a Fall there. Kamryn and Katie made $15 in one evening. People were happy to pay it too. It was a lot of work.

 They did find time to have some fun by jumping in their pile before bagging it. I love Fall in New Mexico.



Soil

Derrik did his science experiment this year on "What soils is the best for sprouting seeds". He used store soil, Dad's homemade compost, and the soil in the back yard. As you can see Dad's home made soil is the best. The other seeds didn't even sprout. It could have been that Derrik forgot about them and didn't water them. He didn't get Grandad Nelson's Green Thumb. Oh well.

Where's the Beef?

IN MY FREEZER!!! Yummy!!! along with a pig that Gingers kids raised for me and a whole bunch of deer, elk and green chile. We are all set.

For the last couple of years I have not been able to attend the wonderful cow cutting up parties due to children obligations so I volunteered to cut up Judy and Darwin's cow.  Sadie came for 10 minutes and decided it was not for her and we traded her for Meagan. Karie, Erin, and Darwin were also there.

It was pretty fun and a lot less messy than you would think. This is my cousin Milt (in the middle) he is the one who has all the stuff and he if very clean. Dad on the left and Judy on the right.

They also cut up another cow for a person that dumped it on Milt. It was a long day. I had a lunch date with my Grandma Childers.
