CHoice 2 The Savior's instructions about the Holy Ghost

*The Holy Ghost will comfort us and abide with us forever. As disciples we must keep the commandments.

* The Holy Ghost will teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance. The Holy Ghost will give us peace. We as disciples should not be afraid or troubled.

* The Holy Ghost will come to us from the Father and will testify of Christ. We as disciples should bear witness of Him.

*The Holy Ghost will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment.

*The Holy Ghost will guide us to the truth and show us things to come. He will glorify God.

2. 

*The Holy Ghost helps us reach our fullest potential by opening our hearts and minds and revealing the truth of all things to us. 

*If we as members of the church are faithful and worthy, the Holy Ghost will teach us. He is  the third member of the godhead and will comfort us, guide us, and lead us on the right path.

*I like how the bible dictionary describes the Holy Ghost as "fire" since it is a cleansing agent to purify a person from all sin. The Holy Ghost can also give us a testimony of Jesus Christ and of His work on the earth.

*The Apostles needed the help of the Holy Ghost in order to fulfill their missions after Christ's death. They needed the direction, comfort, and guidance of the Holy Ghost since they no longer had Christ with them to teach them. I don't think there is any way they could have done it on their own. The gospel was so new to them and they couldn't have fulfilled all they did without the help of the Holy Ghost. They needed the help and inspiration that comes from the Holy Ghost. 

*When I first left home and went off to college, I struggled. It was hard being on my own and away from all my family members. It was the first time in my life that I relied very heavily on the comfort of the Holy Ghost. There were many nights I prayed and cried and needed to feel peace. On one particular occasion I was alone in my apartment and knelt down to pray. I prayed for peace and comfort and wanted the Holy Ghost to help me to know that the gospel was true. The peace I felt during that prayer is indescribable, but I knew the Lord heard me and was sending me the comfort of the Holy Ghost. It is an experience I will never forget and am very grateful to have experienced.

1. Others can know that I am a disciple of Christ if I love others the way Christ loves me. 

2. Listed below are some specific ways a disciple of Jesus Christ would respond in the following situations:

 

*Someone you know is ridiculed or made fun of because the way he or she dresses. 

-A true disciple of Christ would defend that person in a loving way. They would stick up for them without being rude or unkind to those ridiculing that person. They may compliment the way that person dresses to try to make them feel better about the ridicule they have just received.

*You see a new person at church.

-I have a hard time walking up to people I don't know and making them feel welcome, so I can see how this is a hard situation for someone shy like me. If we truly love others we want them to feel comfortable and secure around us. We want them to feel like they are our friend. In order to do this we have to step out of our comfort zone and introduce ourselves, get to know them, give them a smile, say hello, etc. 

3. Lately I have been butting heads with my daughter. She is stubborn, head strong, and knows what she wants. it is very hard for me to stay patient and loving at times. This week I want to do my best to show her the kind of love the Savior would show. It is my goal to stay patient, kind, and humble, even when she's driving me crazy! :)
