Unexpected visitor!

Patrick was on his way up north for the 2009 World Police & Fire Games in BC, Canada so he brought Brianna along for the ride and dropped her off with us! Woo-hoo!!!

Boulevard Park

Anna Kate and I headed out to Boulevard Park first thing this morning so I could get prepared for an upcoming photo shoot there. She had a great time playing on the toys, running on the grass, chasing after dogs and walking on the bridge.

I've trained her to cross her legs when she poses for pics. Now we need to work on the smile. Most kids tend to do that really cheesy smile but she does a little crooked one instead.

I tried to get a picture without her funny sunglasses... no luck!

Yee Haw Cowgirl!

Anna Kate has been using this cable as a jump rope for the past couple of days. As soon as she puts it down I put it out of sight because it seems a little dangerous. I left it on the kitchen table and she found it! She stood on the chair and said, "Yee haw! It's a lasso!" I asked her where her cowgirl hat and cowgirl boots were and she and found them.

I think she got a little confused on what a lasso is suppose to do because she kept hanging it off the deck and telling me she was catching the dirt and rocks down below.

Looks like she remembered how to use her lasso!

Hiding

Lately Anna Kate has not wanted me to take pictures of her. She says, "No camera!" and covers her face or turns her head. UGH! It's driving me crazy!

Pioneer Picnic at Hovander

Anna Kate loved seeing all the animals at Hovander Park.



The pigs kept wanting to say hello.

There were goats and sheep too.

Anna Kate had hers arms folded tightly because I told her the geese and turkeys would chomp her fingers if she put them in the cage.

Anna Kate loves these sunglasses and wears them everywhere... even indoors! The other day a store employee told me she looked like Willy Wonka! What do you think?

New Robe

Tiffany had a great idea to make fleece robes for the girls. I think it turned out pretty cute. The smallest pattern size was for a size 4 so the robe is a little big for now but Anna Kate will grow into it.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Anna Kate filled up her shopping cart with toys and said, "Bye Mommy. I'm going to Target! I'll be right back."

I asked her what she was going to buy at Target and she said, "Money!"

One Silly Gal!

Anna Kate loves to talk and lately she's been saying some funny things!

She loves to make animal sounds or have me make animal sounds. She was calling out different animals and I was making the sound. She said, "Lion!" so I roared. Then she said, "Good roar Mommy!"

We were still playing this game and she said, "Anna Kate's a bunny. Hop, hop, hop!" I said, "Bunny, you need to eat your pears." She looked at me funny and said, "Bunnies no eat pears, bunnies eat carrots." Then she yelled, "BUNNIES, EAT YOUR CARROTS!" and then in a quiet voice said, "Okay Anna Kate" as if they were answering her back.

Every time we come to a traffic light she says, "Green means go and red means stop!"

When the cable guys was here, he and Mike were replugging in some wires into the back of the TV. They were the blue, red and green ones. She heard them talking about it and started shouting other colors... Yellow! Purple! Orange!

She saw a pacifier that was left at our house and she wanted it. She calls them "fires." I recently found one of her old pacifiers so I got that for her. She put it in her mouth. She looked really silly with that little pacifier in so I showed her in the mirror. She kept turning away and could barely look at herself. She was holding the pacifier in her mouth with her lips because she has forgotten how to suck on them so she couldn't talk so she was pointing at which direction she wanted to go or what she wanted. After about 3 minutes she said, "All done fire!"

She has a toy that sings about letters and the sounds they make. Instead of "E says eh" she says, "E says F!"

Her B-I-N-G-O book has dog bones on the cover. We were looking at another book that had dog bones and I asked her what they were. She said, "Those are B-I-N-G-O's!"

A new skirt!

I've been wanting to get Anna Kate a pettiskirt for a while now but the cost anywhere from $60 to $80. I saw on Martha Stewart directions on how to make one. It seemed easy enough so I gathered supplies and got to work. About half-way through making it, I realized I should have trusted Martha when she said that it would be easier to just write the check! Of course, after I finished the skirt and Anna Kate put it on and it looked so cute, I wanted to make her a bunch more in different colors! At first Anna Kate wasn't too thrilled to wear the skirt. Today, while playing with her Cinderella doll, she asked to put on her sparkle shoes. She either calls them "fancy" shoes or "dancing" shoes... I can't tell. Then she asked for her "meena" which means she wants a ballerina skirt on. She had a great time twirling, running and jumping around and I even got her to pose for a couple of pics!

Raspberry Fun!

Anna Kate LOVES raspberries and keeps asking for more! Too bad we made them all into freezer jam!

Raspberry Festival

We headed out to Boxx Berry Farms again for their Raspberry Festival.

Anna Kate wasn't much help picking raspberries... she was too busy eating them!

She had fun running up and down the row.

And she really loved digging in the dirt.

There were baby goats to pet this time! There was a very loud sheep that kept Anna Kate on her toes.

After enjoying our yummy ice cream and raspberries, Anna Kate played on the swings and slides and had the best time digging in the sand! We came home and Anna Kate took a 3.5 hour nap! All that raspberry picking must have worn her out!

Round 2 at Fairhaven Spray Park

Since the spray park was going until 7 pm, we headed back so Mike could see how much Anna Kate loved it!

SPLASH!

We played at the park for a little while too. Anna Kate loves to talk in these phone-things. She and another girl sang their ABC's back and forth to each other.

Anna Kate got to swing on the big swing while she waited for a turn on the little swing.

After playing at the park we went to Arby's for dinner. Anna Kate did pretty good eating her roast beef sandwich. She said, "Sprinkles on my sandwich!" - she thought the sesame seeds were sprinkles!
