Deer sighting

There was a deer sitting out in our yard today and Anna Kate was having the best time watching it. She kept saying, "He's looking at me! Aww, he likes me!" Then she ran and got her kitties to show them as well. Then she ran to get all her Mickey Mouse characters to show them as well. She had the cutest little conversation with all of them about the deer.

Apple Picking

Our friend Carlene was so nice to let us come and pick some apples on her property! On our way over Anna Kate kept getting confused and told me that we were going to pick strawberries. She had fun finding apples on the ground and putting them into a bag, climbing through the bushes and hanging out with her friend Claire.



She found this tiny apple and kept it with her all morning.

Mr. Potato Head Love

It was Grandma's birthday so Anna Kate got a gift for herself! (Happy Birthday Mom!)

I've seen these giant Mr. Potato Heads at Costco for a while but hesitated getting one because Anna Kate has so many toys already. However, this time at Costco we noticed the "*" on the sign which means the product is going to be discontinued. So I grabbed one thinking we could give it to her for Christmas... except she saw it in the cart and wanted it sitting right next to her throughout the store. Then she hugged it all the way home. I think there would have been a lot of tears if we didn't let her open it up! She loves to play with them and when she puts on the mustache she always says, "It looks like Uncle Patrick!"

Anna Kate loves to pretend to do our hair and make-up! Here we are both getting lipstick. She had to show Mike how to move his lips around after putting it on!

A quick visit

Anna Kate got to spend the day with Grandma and Papa while Mike and I went to the temple in Bellevue. We dropped her off nice and early at 6:45 a.m. Sorry for waking you up Brianna!

She had a great time playing and getting to eat teriyaki chicken.

We came back to get her and visit for a little bit and Grandpa Fred who was visiting from Utah stopped by as well.

Our Staycation!

Mike had some vacation days to use so we got to have a few days of fun! We headed down to Seattle and hit up the aquarium. I had asked Anna Kate the night before if she wanted to go to the aquarium to see fish and an octopus. She said "Yes. And see sharks, dolphins and bunny rabbits. And lions and hippos!"

Well we saw fish,

and the closest we got to a lion was this lion fish.

Anna Kate kept wandering around looking at different tanks saying, "Is the shark in here? No." Once we finally saw the sharks she wasn't interested.

The seals and river otters were probably the most fun to watch!

We could see the carousel from the aquarium and Anna Kate REALLY wanted to go on it... so she got to! She loved every minute of it!

Next we hiked up the hill to the Pike Place Market. We had fun wondering around all the shops. I loved all the flower bouquets on display - so pretty!

We then walked over to a little park and let Anna Kate run around for a bit!

We made the hike back down to our car and took a couple pics on the stairs.

We finished off our evening eating at the Old Spaghetti Factory... yum!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Anna Kate and I made cupcakes for Mike's birthday this morning. Anna Kate had fun singing "Happy Birthday" to Mike all day.

Someone thought she needed a candle too. In fact she kept telling us all day that it was her birthday too!

I got Anna Kate some dress up shoes for Anna Kate and she loves them. She put on the Cinderella shoes and then said she needed her Cinderella dress!

She said, "Look at me. I'm a princess!"

Another fun fair day

We headed to the fair again. This time with Uncle Joey, Aunt Heidi, Luke, Molly and Baby Eli.

We headed to the petting zoo first. Anna Kate followed around all the goats and kept giggling and saying, "He likes me!"

Next we rode the train. Anna Kate thought it was great!

I tried to get a cute pic of the girls in their coordinating outfits but they weren't quite cooperating! :)

We went to take the kids on one more ride. They all decided to ride the car ride. But when Anna Kate got to the front of the line they told her she was too short. That means Molly was too short as well. So the girls got to go on the carousel again.

After we were finished we headed over to see the Weird Al 3-D movie. Anna Kate and I had already seen it with Grandma. Anna Kate got a little freaked out at the beginning of the movie but by the end she told me that it was a good movie. But this time we barely walked into the room and Anna Kate said, "No movie! No movie! Scary!" So we told everyone else we would meet up with them afterwards. Unfortunately, Joey didn't have my new cell number, Heidi's phone died and I had Joey's number off by one number. So we weren't able to find each other! Luckily we had driven separate cars!

Before we left the fair we did a few more things including "milking a cow."

I think Anna Kate had enough fun! She fell asleep in the wagon and I was able to get her in her car seat and then into the crib at Grandma's house without her waking up!
