Out with the old, in with the new!

After being totally embarassed by that ratty ol' handbag I was using for the day or two before I got "bag tagged" I saw this one today and I couldn't resist. It's springy yet totally cute, right? I think so... so out with the ol' Mary Poppins bag (thanks Rachel! haha) and in with something a little more hip. I actually thought that bag I was using before was cute until I saw it on my blog and realized that it's totally dirty AND falling apart. Eeps!

I decided yesterday that I am sick of my winter bags so I decided to pull out a "spring" bag from a couple of years ago instead... I am VERY sick of the cold. I'm ready for spring / summer!

I went to Jump On It! yesterday with my kids and some friends so I had some extra things in my bag that I don't normally carry around on a day to day basis, and I hadn't since cleaned it out so I have A LOT of stuff in there. Anyway, here's what I have: diapers, spiderman underwear, wipes, miscellaneous receipts and coupons, wallet, EPI pen (for Logan), 2 Scentsy car candles, sunglasses, cell phone, gum, Scentsy catalog, Entertainment book, coupons, keys, pens, lip glosses, and my checkbook!

Our week in review!

This is the last posting of pictures for tonight (but first that you will read) of our week.. it's actually been a couple of weeks. We got to babysit our cousins - Ella and Michael for 3 days this week and the kids had such a great time together. This is lunch on one of those days. They all were such good eaters. Jackson is cut off, yes, I know, because he was in his skivvy's and standing up, so he just gets a partial of his face in this picture.

This picture is for Denise - she gave us this hand-me-down, darling outfit that Emma outgrew. Kait wore it yesterday and I told Denise and she told me to post a pic of it on my blog. Notice how perfectly the bow matches too! (thanks Jody!)

Crap Time

This is called "Crap Time" at our house. Really, it's "CraFT Time" but for some reason, Jackson thinks I'm saying "Crap Time" so that is what he calls it now. Even though "crap" is considered a "pepper word" (that's what happens when someone says a bad word - like stupid or crap - they have to have pepper on their tongue- pepper has worked WONDERS in our household) it's ok for some reason to say "crap" in "Crap Time". But that's the ONLY exception. "Crap Time" is a daily activity for us. Play-dough, chalkboards, coloring, etc...

Since Logan thinks he's a dinosaur, he has to have all of his play-dough turned into dinosaurs too. He is telling this dinosaur how cute he is and that he is not scarey!

There ain't no place I would rather be...

Kaitlin has two places she'd rather be more than anywhere else. On my mom's lap and on Brian's lap. My mom was folding my laundry (bless her heart) one day last week and Kaitlin had to be sitting on my mom's lap while my mom was folding laundry. She's like a cat, whenever she gets a chance to be sitting on my mom's lap, she's all over that!

And then with her daddy. She gives the highest pitch squeal of "DADDY!" when she hears the garage door open. She comes running from wherever she is in the house to see him and then she doesn't let him out of her site all evening long. She definitely has a thing for her daddy!

St. George

A few weeks ago, I got this crazy idea to go to St. George with the kids and my brother and meet up with my parents for a night. Crazy is putting it lightly. But we did manage to go to dinner to Red Lobster and so these are a couple of pictures from that outting. But I love this picture of my cute parents.

One night a few weeks ago we were quizzing Spencer on his various animal sounds, which include a few special ones about my brothers. Then Ryan ventured into uncharted territory, asking him what does daddy say, what does grandpa say, etc... and then it was what does mommy say? I was sure it would be "no no" or "knock it off" or something equally cringe-worthy. Instead, Spencer cuddled up to me and said in his sweet little 2 yr old voice, "I yove Pencer!" I definitely had more patience with him after hearing that!

The honeymoon is over!

I guess my post about The NEW Logan is not the truth anymore. The honeymoon period is over, the hospital drugs must have worn off completely. After I talked to my friends and neighbors Denise and Kara and raving about how good Logan was doing, he suddenly went downhill fast. Said he was sick, his mouth hurt, got a fever etc... And so now he's been gagging down the pain medicine every 4-5 hours. But once the drugs kick in, he definitely feels better for a couple of hours... then slowly but surely, he starts laying around more, saying he wants to go to bed, his mouth hurts, he's sick etc... and I know it's time for the torture of the pain meds again!

But it's definitely not nearly as horrific as I've heard from some people about their kids recoveries, course this is still just the first day. Logan is still a trooper, none-the-less. A BIG thank you for all the phone calls, emails, thoughtful visits and treats, meals etc.. that we (Logan in particular) has received today. You guys are the best!

The NEW Logan

This doesn't look like a kid that should be in "excruciating" pain less than 24 hours after having his tonsils and adenoids removed, does it to you? I don't get it! We haven't even given him an ounce of pain medication since the hospital gave him the medicine to do the surgery. He says he has no pain, he slept through the night. Wow, I really thought that Logan, above all kids, would have a horrible recovery. So far so good!

A new me

I got a new 'do. I talked to my friend Erin who also happens to be my fav. hairstylist and told her it was time for a change. I also told her that she could have free reign on my hair and do whatever she wanted. So thus we have, the result above. My hair is a lot darker now with some chunky blonde and brown highlights and I think she cut about 3 inches off. She said it's "the new trendy, Scentsy director-me. " I like it! And of course, Jackson saw a camera and had to make a silly face.... oh the joy of cute kids! ;)
