Happy Birthday Jesus!

To complete our Christmas, we decided to have a birthday party for Jesus. We thought Jesus would prefer a vanilla and chocolate ice cream cake for his party. Who knew that this could evoke so many questions in a 3 year-old? Julia was confused because she had lots of friends at her party and wanted to know where Jesus' friends were...and where was he to blow out the candles?... I explained to her that Jesus was in our hearts. I also had to explain this to her when she asked if we would see baby Jesus at church.

White Christmas

We woke up Christmas morning to snow! It was so cold and windy that we couldn't stay outside for long.

Santa Claus Came to Town

We were anxiously awaiting for Julia to wake up Christmas morning. She slept until almost 8:30. It was a joy to see the look on her face when she saw what Santa had left for her. She was happy to find a baby doll (complete with blue p.j.'s, just as she requested), a monogrammed Dr. kit and jacket, a Snow White princess dress, and a pink castle. She also got plenty of stocking stuffers. Joseph was just happy to play with anything he could get his hands on. He was up before Julia and wanted to play with her castle but we would not let him. He seemed to be the happiest with his Weeble Treehouse.

Ready for Church

We started the tradition last year of attending the candelight Christmas Eve service at church. Hopefully, this will be a treasured part of our holiday celebrations. This is a great way to remember the real reason for the season. This family picture was taken by a friend at the front of the church. The other pictures were taken at home beforehand.

I was wrapping presents and Julia took the ribbon and made a tutu out of it. . .

Julia and I made a Gingerbread house together. She liked eating the candy as we decorated.

Christmas with Family

We spent the weekend in Northeast Arkansas having Christmas with family. We are so blessed to have such a big family who loves us. We had the best time visiting, eating, and of course, opening presents.
